She checked us out. While other times I have been in the store I have received wonderful assistance and suggestions, this time the sales clerk sold us what she told us was a miniature puzzle, which we realized once we left she was inaccurate. I do love this store and have found many unique special gifts for friends, daughters and myself. The store is located in Malaga Cove shopping center which has a wonderful breakfast/lunch spot, coffee, deli, market and ice cream shop. So a drive to Corners of the World shop is definitely worth it.

After taking some pictures we took a look at the store. It's actually a cute little gift shop. They have lots of beach themed items such as cards, candles, and shirts. They already had some really cute Christmas ornaments for sale. We ended up walking out with a soft and comfy tee. A bonus is that the shop owner is really sweet and often gives treats to my dog. I hope to come back soon to check out other items that would make cute and funny Christmas gifts.

Today I bought 2 hand-made bikini doorstops - made me laugh (kinda reminds me of trying to get my cat out from under the bed, see my photo). And I learned from Amber's Mom about Elf on the Shelf. How could I not have known about this wonderful tradition? You're unlikely to get any stories like this shopping in a big box chain store (or online). I had a great time in here, as always. And I will always come back.

Yep, that describes this delightful place, in which I spent at least an hour today. I was allowed to take a ton of photos, & pictures are worth a lotta words so I won't say too much more. Except.....peacocks were roaming the parking lot displaying brilliant plumage (it's mating season). And.....Malaga Cove is peacefully magical. I've said for years that Malaga Cove plaza area needs more retail shops & now we have them. You won't find nicer people than the owners of these shops & you'll have great fun looking at the unique products they offer. True story: On my way up the PV Hill this afternoon, I stopped in Jeffrey Scott Vintage to buy a couple of gifts. I wandered into Mixt, for the first time, on my way back to my car. I ended up chatting with Judith, exploring her shop, taking photos.....and completely forgot why I was headed up the hill in the first place. I was so enamored with everything in Mixt that I never could remember what I was supposed to do up on the hill. So I came back home. Either I've lost my mind completely, or these shops were such an adventure that my original destination no longer mattered. I suspect it's the latter. Fingers crossed....

The beach is literally a block or two away and parking isn't horrendously expensive unlike some other beaches or shorelines. (A buck and a half per hour is a steal!) It's a pretty chill and kickback area. Some grub spots have live bands/music you can vibe to. But the best part of the village is definitely walking by the shores! The views. Of the water alongside the mountains are breathtaking. I imagine the best time to come through is during the spring and summer. We have yet to experience the area during the fall and winter seasons. The atmosphere felt cozy and energetic at the same time with music, friendly voices, and the smell of fresh food filling the air. Teenagers would love how easy it is to explore because everything is close together and full of personality. The service at the small shops felt personal and welcoming which made the whole experience feel more meaningful. The value was impressive because there were many affordable treats and unique items that did not feel overpriced. The quality of the stores and food stands was high and everything felt thoughtfully arranged. The selection was wide enough to keep teenagers entertained whether they wanted snacks, clothes, handmade items, or just a fun place to walk. I have only been there once before writing this review but it was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable places I have visited. I highly recommend that teenagers go there because it gives them a chance to feel independent, creative, and connected to a lively community.

So were the two scrambled eggs, the two chicken sausages and the rosemary potatoes. What an ample, delicious brunch. We were too busy catching up to photograph our meal, though.
