There are a few nice overlook spots along the trail and even a few benches to stop and enjoy the scenery. I noticed that there were many spots in the grassy area that appeared to be burned. As I was wondering aloud what those meant, I came across a sign that explained that they were prescribed burns to prevent the existing trees from choking out. They need space to grow. The water is incredibly clear and the stream has a lovely flow to it. There are some spots that are a little more sparse than others, so it might not be the most magnificent trail you'll find in the mountains, but if it's along your path and you'd like a short walk, it's definitely worth visiting.

Was very excited to not have to drive super far to get to some local hiking. This area very much reminded me of my hometown. I am only going to review one hike though as that is all i had the chance to enjoy of wasatch mountain state park. If I were in heber again i would love to go and explore this beauty more. Crows nest via huber grove via epperson is the hike we attempted to go on. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/utah/crows-nest-via-huber-grove-to-epperson Its a 5.1 mile loop trail that starts at the parking lot next to the visitor center. It is rated moderate. so there are so many off shoots on this trail. We followed teh all trails map and it led us astray. We eventually found the finale crows nest loop but my teens were done at that point and we just headed back. The loop in all trails map also is longer than what is listed. There are not a lot of signs that say crows nest. We did find our way out easily enough. Trail is dry. Pretty area once you get up into the trees. It is nice that wasatch is not too far out of town so very accessible. If you do not have a utah state parks pass be sure to bring $10 cash or go to the website at teh parking lot and then you can pay for parking online

AMAZING EXPERIENCE…read more You check in right at the soldier hallow center. They show you how to fit and put on snow shoes and then the guide takes you on a short ~1/2 mile trip to the yurt. It's fairly reasonable even for folks who may be fearful they're deconditioned or not as active. There's as a guide at the front and rear so it can be an easy pace as long you let them know ahead of time. There's plenty of opportunities to take photos and they give a little history also. The guide were great and taking pictures too! Once you're at the top you're greeted by a large yet cozy yurt. It's warm and intimate despite several other groups being present. They did a short introduction and then we got the night started. There was plenty of hot coco, coffee, tea options. Also ingredients to make smores. The courses came at a great pace and we really got to enjoy ourselves. Soda or lime seltzer is also available as well as some limited beer options. There is access to portable bathrooms in case that's needed. Overall this was a beautiful experience perfect for a special occasion. I highly recommend this company and look forward to doing this again in the future.

The park is quiet and peaceful at the end of the road, with gorgeous views, river walks, and a renowned fishing area right across the street. It's been a joy taking my dogs on hikes along the river every day. Check in was quick and easy, sign a waiver and hop on a bus to take you to the top. Once there you will find the tubes and go down the river which can take 1.5-2 hours. Check in was easy and they go through all the do's & dont's of using the boat. The pontoon we reserved was the cheapest, but it was really nice compared to ones we've rented in the past at other lakes/rivers. Had Bluetooth speakers which added to the experience. We were bummed out the weather was a bit crappy so I felt like we didn't get to fully enjoy the experience. Also, unless you plan to jump off the boat and swim/float etc., there's no where to beach it to hang out, and you are told to stay 150 feet away from the edges due to shallow water and rocks. The water was a chilly 52 for Memorial Day weekend and without sun and warm temps we didn't get into the water. We ended up returning our rental early due to rain, but checking the boat back in was easy. I definitely recommend renting if you're spending a day here. It's got gorgeous views and it's very big. There were some cool teepees out of what looked like driftwood or something along the South Eastern section that merges into Provo River. There's beautiful homes along northern edges as well.
