Natalie is nice and very hospitable however, I had some serious concerns regarding my visit for a haircut. My cut request was very basic... trimming spilt ends and creating an easy style. Although my hair was already frizzy, she added layers which increased the frizz. She never showed me the back when we finished. When I got home, I saw it was uneven. Most concerning was that her styling tools including round bush, hair straightener and curling iron were all in a large purse. Clearly, no attempt to keep them in a sanitary condition. It was not clear if they had been cleaned before prior use but given they all were in the same purse, I was concerned about contamination. Ultimately, I paid $48 for a basic (uneven) trim since I did not allow her to use her styling tools on my hair. A BASIC affordable woman's haircut seems impossible these days!! :/ High end salons cost $100+ when I cannot upkeep the style they create. Had a slick black with size 4-5.5 medium cut with a pre-cut shampoo (to get hair gel out of hair), and finished with a shampoo to remove any leftover hair clipping as I had errands to do afterwards. In a nutshell, it was a perfect cut and wash by Natalie. Additionally, as Natalie stated to blow dry my hair I asked if I could do it myself, and she allowed me to, and without asking Natalie provided hair gel for me to style my hair myself which I preferred to do myself too. I've been going to Natalie since 2019, originally from a different salon. I tried different barbers after her but her attentiveness, attention to detail, and meticulousness make me want to go back to her every time. When the pandemic broke out, I was so bummed I couldn't see her until I started following up with her so I am so glad she got her own salon studio now. Natalie definitely takes her time with you but doesn't take too long where she takes up a lot of your time in a day. She values developing a personal relationship with her clients and catches up with you at every appointment while also sharing about herself too. I am pretty picky when it comes to barbers especially during and after the haircut experience. I don't like to feel itchy during and after the haircut which is something I don't feel with Natalie. It has come to the point where I don't even need to tell her what I want to do with my hair anymore because she remembers what I get every time until I decide to go for a completely different hairstyle. She still makes sure to show how the back of my head looks like every time though to ensure I am satisfied before leaving. She's very flexible when it comes to payments usually so just make sure to just talk to her about which form of payment you prefer. There's a good amount of parking in the back, you enter through a narrow, side driveway entrance on the right (upon arrival, facing the street) so just make sure you drive slowly to avoid bumping into anything and you exit on the other side through a similar, narrow driveway. The entrance to the salon faces the street so you can walk back towards it or you can knock from the back entrance, it just may not be as obvious through the back. It's hard to find a good, consistent barber nowadays that isn't awkward during the cut so I see myself going to Natalie for a good amount of time. I was hesitant of trying Natalie for the very first time but she did not disappoint so I highly recommend anyone to try her out. read more
