He charged me 10$ for changing the battery and 10$ for resize the Watch. I was able to look through the glass window when they did the work. He was very careful. World Time is the best! Found my Ferragamo F-80 Automatic chronograph watch suddenly stopped working and trying to figure out how to deal with it. The warranty was long expired. Searching internet found free estimate available in New York but didn't feel comfortable to go through that route. Decided to search yelp and found World Time is very close with great feedback's and also offer free estimate. Stopped by yesterday morning and was told it would take 10 to 15 minutes to let me know what's wrong and the cost to fix. In about 10 minutes, came back and hand me back the watch, FIXED and RUNNING. "The cause was a loose part, I put it back.", he told me. I asked him how much was the cost and he told me, "FREE." I was really surprised with their superb repair skill, quickly identified the problem and was willing to do a FREE FIX for a first time new customer. What an excellent professional shop! Son gladly help me with all my questions about repair on watch. After 4 weeks of labor period he called me to let me know my watch is ready for pick up. I would consider myself a watch collector, I own a collection of watches that range from expensive to very expensive, and most need batteries replaced after a couple of years. It's been a while since I had batteries replaced and slowly one by one died, so I was left with wearing a limited collection from day to day. I did some research and found World Time, you guessed it, on Yelp. I simply don't trust everyone with my watches, but with 4.5 stars and solid reviews, I knew I was in good hands. I went by and was greeted with a smile. I immediately knew that this guy loved watches as much as I do, when his face expression had curiosity all over it waiting to see what I brought in. He filled out a receipt and when I reviewed it, the writing simply stated four watch battery replacement. I asked him about the details of my watches and he just pointed up at the security camera and said no worries, we know exactly what you dropped off. How cool is that? I felt like I was at a casino gambling table with eyes watching over me. I dropped off four watches on Saturday and I was told to pick them up on Monday, now that is fast. I called another shop and they had to send them to the manufacturer, which would take four to six weeks. Are you kidding me?!? These guys are experts, we chatted about our watch interests and he showed me a watch that was valued at $40k with a repair price of $1k. If people trust him with their ridiculously expensive watch repairs, I definitely trust a battery replacement. He explained to me that other repair shops use cheap Energizer batteries that don't last as long and tend to leak. He uses Renata watch batteries that are more expensive and very reliable. When I arrived on Monday, all was fine except that one of my watches needed cleaning, like most chronograph watches. Based on my experience here, I will be bringing it back for cleaning very soon even though is was appraised at $350. read more

I took in my 9 year old Rolex Submariner Two Tone (affectionately known as "bluesy" in rolex enthusiast world) and of course I wanted to take it to a reputable shop. This business came highly recommended by a few friends who have had work done on their high end jobs. I had already used this location to help authenticate a couple of old rolexes that I was looking to buy (for friends etc.), and I knew the owner 'Son' from meeting him casually a couple of times. Seeing some pictures of similar submariner to mine on their Yelp page helped with feeling more comfortable with the business. Also realized that some well known jewelers in the shopping mall (some of which I had bought my earlier rolex watches from) used to use this shop's services to service their customer's watches. Left my watch with them, At the drop off, Son did a great job of capturing the status of my watch and showed me slight chips in crystal etc. that I didn't even know my watch had. This is basically to cover their shop from any false claims and any problems later on, which is great. The price was very reasonable (around 60% of the RSC in San Francisco), with a 3 year warranty which no one in this business offers, and better turnaround time. Yesterday I was called and told that my watch is ready for pick up. It looks and feels great. All mechanism (winding, changing time by movement of hands, etc.) seem well lubricated and it feels like a ... well, Rolex watch again. I am a customer for life now. read more

Here in LA I have had bad experiences where either they did not know how to do it or did it in a rush and scratched my watch and charged me much more. My Breitling Aerospace Evo needed a new battery. I purchased it from Davidson and Licht 3 years ago. But when I returned to ask about a new battery, they told me Breitling no longer authorize jewelers to perform this minor service. Now the only authorized battery replacement procedure is to return the watch directly to Breitling. The problem is this can typically cost several hundred dollars and take 2 months. The charges include $120 for insured shipping, and a minimum of $110 for the most minor service from Breitling. But if they decide the watch requires additional work, the costs can more than double. Some have been charged more than $600 for this service. If you refuse the quote, they charge $30 just for the estimate. And then you're stuck for the shipping charge and insurance. Online forums are full of experiences where Breitling claimed additional service was required when watches were sent in for a simple battery replacement. Then I learned of World Time. Skeptical at first, I read their reviews here on Yelp and decided to stop by. Their shop is very clean and well appointed. The work area is a showcase of the watchmakers art, with a big glass window into to workarea . The walls a hung with factory certifications from Swatch Group (Omega) and Rolex. The man who greeted me showed me photos of himself when he worked for Omega, wearing a white lab coat at their repair facility. He showed me photos of watches he's repaired, fully disassembled into an array of tiny parts. Now I have confidence in WorldTime, that they know what they're doing and how to do it. They replaced my Breitling battery while I waited, in less than 10 minutes. They used a Swiss made Renata battery, the same as the original. Then they pressure tested the watch in an expensive looking vacuum watch pressure test device, while I observed. You can't beat this service and convenience and value. $25 for a battery service from a factory trained technician is reasonable for a $4000 timepiece. I'm satisfied and will be back. read more

I have tiny wrists so I needed it re-sized. These guys are pretty amazing, since they only looked at my wrist, and was able to re-size it based on that. They were also super nice and fast. I was a bit worried that it was going to be expensive, but it was only $10 dollars. A pretty good deal since I have paid more in the past at other places. These guys are fantastic. I came in originally based on Yelp reviews, and had some much overdue service done on an older Breitling. I had previously taken it to a high end jewelry place that sold them, and they had sent it off "to the factory" for what they explained was a high end service. Son opened it up and sent pictures of just how dirty the interior casing was; they basically just sprayed oil into it without cleaning anything before. Once Son was done with it, it was embarrassing how bad it was done the first time around. Son cleaned it thoroughly, and found and replaced two tiny parts that were either broken or not in place. He kept the parts for me and they were so small you could barely see them. When it was all back together, he even polished the band. The final product was indistinguishable from a brand new watch. It runs smoother, winds cleaner, and doesn't lose any time. I just can't say enough about it. I've since had other watches in, including one I bought on the internet which he was able to authenticate and service. It does take time, but not more time than sending it away to Switzerland for service, and Son provides a better warranty and in my experience much higher quality than some "close to factory" service work. read more
