I found books I'm familiar with (Autobiography of Malcom X), and books I've never heard of but am happy to have now. There are also vintage and antique books (individual and in sets), and some collectibles. The genres are well-marked throughout, and there are more downstairs. Speaking of stairs, they were wide and sturdy, and even my bad knees didn't complain. The pricing is very fair for new & old books. Highly recommend a regular stop at Paper Nautilus!

We happened to park near Frazzleberries, which I'd consider a more upscale souvenir shop. They have lots of high-quality goods -- gifts, magnets, clothing, etc. I was looking at a different shirt when a friend pointed out one that was SUPER soft. I tried it on and was immediately sold. The fit, the material, all great, and at a reasonable price. I want to say $35? I also bought a very nice Newport magnet at the checkout counter. A very successful visit!

Falling for the trend, I had to get my hands on my own Labubu! Labubu is a small monster with high, pointed ears and serrated teeth. Despite a mischievous look, Labubu is kind-hearted and always wants to help. Aren't they so cute? I hurried over to Newbury Comics and they had THE MONSTERS - Have a Seat Vinyl Plush Blind Box, THE MONSTERS - Exciting Macaron Vinyl Face Blind Box, The Monsters Coca-Cola Series Figures Blind Box, and The Monsters Lazy Yoga Series Blind Box behind the checkout counter. There is a limit of purchasing 3 of each type and no holds. A few hours later, I saw an update on the post that Have a Seat and Exciting Macaron Blind Box were sold out. I am so glad Newbury Comics carries these blind boxes and even have a whole Pop Mart section. I've also purchased hippers. Hippers are adorable decorative mini figures come with adhesive tape to stick onto your laptop, desk, phone, bookshelf, and more. I've stuck them on my monitor and my desk organizer. More fossils than most places have and some stones I haven't seen in any other store. Had I not been in from out of town, I would have bought a lot more. The owner is a friendly, gregarious guy who really knows his stuff. His specimens' places of origin are listed on lot of the labels, which was a nice touch. Some of the pieces were quite expensive, but those tended to be the larger and rarer pieces. It bears saying that the expensive pieces were beautiful and high quality. This store has something for everyone, whether you are a casual collector or a rockhound looking for your next museum piece.

Great prices and constantly refreshed inventory! What a gem!…read more This is probably my most visited clothing shop since our temporary move to South County RI! The plethora of high quality (several still with their original tags) children's clothes, shoes, and toys is spectacular. You will not find prices cheaper than these. She keeps the place very organized and has sales on top of her already well-priced items. Each time I visit, perhaps once a month to get clothes for my 3.5 year old and more so for my now 1 year old, I find I leave with way more than I anticipated! $40 will get me sometimes 10 items! I especially love that she has a $2 off coupon on her receipt to be used within a few weeks I believe. The owner, Nathalie, is so warm and kind. She has an adorable kitten (Miley?) that keeps her company at the shop. I've enjoyed exchanging stories with her. What a wonderful community she has cultivated too! (Didn't realize I had already written a review on this place 2 months ago. Guess it just goes to show how much I love this place!)

Prices are on the high side so plan accordingly but I feel the quality and uniqueness is worth it. If you see something, regret not getting it, you can either go back or order it to be shipped right to you. While I throughly enjoy a niche market, products and support the message of this shop, it definitely has very strong messaging that some might not like. However, that's what I love about Newport! No one is afraid to stand on their beliefs and open a store with those beliefs front and center. I am definitely going to enjoy this establishment again! Especially on a nice warm summer day. I cannot wait to buy a few more things. Only draw back is the store is small and if you have any type of mobility device like a scooter or wheelchair, you are not going to be able to maneuver around the store and handicapped parking is at quite a distance. I ambulate with a cane so it was easier for me but I did have a hike to get there.
