A fun, attractive, and comfortable independent bookstore. And a cafe to boot! So what could be better than a nice cuppa joe and browsing the bookshelves on a peaceful Sunday morning? Settling into one of their comfy reading chairs with same!

I could have gotten lost in this store for hours. Such great and varied choices. Lots of cute gift items, book bags, toys. Can't wait to take my niece to this store!! Walked out 3 books and a book bag later with a huge smile on my face! Ready for the storm thanks to Martin House Books!!

I am in love with this bookstore. If you are an avid reader/book lover. You need to check this place out. It reminds me of old school bookstore/library. The coffee shop is a plus. Very friendly staff. The old school architecture with a modern feel. The fairy doors, the kid section with story time and the mushroom stools for the kids. I could go on and on. I spent a lot of time here, the other day. The prices are standard. I will be back. One word I am obsessed!

I mean literally a spot that bookstore dreams are made of! We were in Westerly and I knew I had to stop in. This place is amazing. You really just want to grab a book and cozy up for the day. I was too stuffed from lunch, so I didn't try the cafe, but looking at the menu they seemed to have a great variety. The bookstore was easy to follow and I was able to find multiple books that I was looking for. The kids section down stars is adorable and such a fun spot for kids to explore. I will certainly be back the next time I am in the area!

A matcha latte, cranberry-orange scone and books? Yes please. This coffee-house-book-store is like an old school library and cafe all mixed into one. The decor is warm and inviting, with great drinks and pastries. Tables and chairs are spread throughout for one to sit and read or bring a laptop and work for a while. The antique decor makes me think of a something between Out of Africa meets A Moveable Feast - which those novels are also have here should you so desire a classic to fit the ambiance.

Nearly two years ago, we discovered, Bank Square Books closed up and moved to 80 Stonington Road, about a mile and a half from its previous location. We were surprised but very happy it is still around and, we hope, flourishing. The new location offers more interior space and better, easier parking. The result is more room for customer browsing, and, we suppose, more room for more books and stuff like cards, games etc. It's fun to stroll around the store but gosh, it sure feels different from what we expected. We wish the store well, of course; we'll keep coming back.

When I first walked inside I was under the impression that this is a tiny bookstore, the further I walked the more books I would discover. This isn't a tiny bookstore, it is moderately sized. I loved the variety of books available. There's fiction, history, brand new releases, kids, and specific interests such as birds. In addition to the books, they also have some giftable items. There's wrapping paper and cards here also. They also have comfy chairs and couches so you can get comfy while reading. This is such a beautiful bookstore that I'm glad to support in downtown Mystic.

Charlestown might not be the first place you think of when "amazing shopping destinations" pop into…read moreyour mind, but listen close, because Books on the Pond is here to change all of that! This adorable little bookshop gives a new meaning to the phrase "shop small" - it's one simple, gorgeously designed, and meticulously curated room full of some of the best titles for kids, teens, and young adults. However, what the space lacks in vastness, it makes up for in charm and heart. We visited here tonight because my boyfriend, who is a horror author, did a reading of some of his spooky short stories for Halloween. The event was wonderful, complete with a generous array of snacks, cozy seating, and twisted tales told by candlelight. This is the first of many of these events, which will not only include local author readings, but also book discussion groups and writing workshops. The owner, Alexandra, is super friendly and dedicated to sharing her love of literature with the community and beyond, and if you're a bibliophile, you'll find yourself at home in this bookish haven of her creation! While this was my first visit, I can safely say that Books on the Pond is now going to be a wonderful excuse to visit this part of Rhode Island more often! They have a wonderful outdoor area with a fire pit, which was unusable tonight due to inclement weather (sad trombone), but I am excited to come back another night to enjoy reading under the stars by the warmth of the fire! If you're looking for a fabulously unique shop that's truly off the beaten path, Books on the Pond is the place to go!
