When I called they said it was because no chip nail polish was used and French tip. funny because one nail is already messed up not sure how that happened with no chip. They lost three customers with us. How do you charge a 16 -year-old $60 for acrylic with no chip nail polish(she didn't ask for) $5 dollars for shape even though she got round and $15 for French manicure. Scammed a 16year old girl. I would give them 0 stars, but I can't so I give them a 1. I was recently at World Star Nails to get my regular acrylic set with designs on almost every finger. But today I went ahead and got a pedicure as well. During my pedicure they asked me to pay then, which is not uncommon at all. That has happened before also because it was near closing time. When I got my bill back it was $297, which covered my mothers dip set, but that was also terribly done, not good at all and Julie (who did the manicure) did not do any of the steps that they usually do for a full dip manicure. Which was WAY higher than what I normally pay which is around 150-160 when getting both services done. And so I asked, Stephan ( I think, the male that sits at station 9 in the front of the store) and he says that my full set with the coffin shape and design was $140. When is way higher than I have normally pay, and I have gotten this set before, I had then asked for a break down of the charges, I get them and have more questions about the charges. And then the same man proceeded to yell at me and get extremely close to me to the point where I was slightly frightened. I had then gotten up from the pedicure and asked him to cancel my pedicure and get a refund. But while this is all going on he is screaming, cursing, and throwing things. A full on temper tantrum was happing from the beginning. He screamed at me at the pedicure chair and then again at the front counter. Overall, I was frightened by him and his actions that was not professional what so ever and quite frankly I believe that he needs to lose his job because he also made me cry. I had the acrylics done by 1 tech and the design done by another (theresa) After I paid, the owner actually came up to me to check my nails from the first techs job and fixed the imperfections that I didn't see until she pointed it out. I had a truly disappointing experience at this nail salon. I went in for acrylic nails, and not only were they uneven, but I also paid almost $100 for what turned out to be a poor job. The nails are uneven, misshaped, and definitely not worth the price. To make matters worse, the technician was unprofessional--at one point, she swatted at my hand to get me to move it instead of politely asking. I expected much better service and quality for the price I paid. They do not clean or sanitize their equipment as it was all dirty from the previous person. This needs to be reported as somebody can get a terrible infection from dirty tools. I will absolutely not be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Very nice nail salon. Very clean. Skill really depends on the nail tech. I'm always a walk in so I get different techs quite often. I took my Daughter and Nieces with me to get pedicures for my Birthday , Friday May 26th to World Star Nails, Tinley Park IL. The experience there is wonderful, there was no wait, the establishment clean, and it was obvious they clean and sanitize on a consistent basis. The only hiccup in the experience was they kept asking about who's paying. They must have had some bad experiences, but geez that's a turn off when you're trying to relax and enjoy your pampered experience. With that being said, as we sat at the drying station, I was approached again about payment, so I gave the young Man Raymond my bank card, 4 pedicures @$33 each , when I do the math it's $132, with that said I was presented a receipt to sign for $165???? I asked why I was charged so much was the extra a gratuity fee? He explained it was for 5 pedicures $$$$$ Clearly there are only 4 of us , he said Oh , I'm sorry I'll fix it. Instead of giving me a credit for 1 pedicure $33, he did the credit for $165 & recharged my card for $132 . WTF ???? What The Fees just happened???? I asked does this go back on my card immediately? No, 4 to 5 days????? This is the main reason I don't let people rush me, had I paid at the front desk as I ALWAYS do, this issue could have been avoided. Now their mistake is my issue???? Oh and by the way it's a holiday weekend, so I won't see my money back until 5-6 business days probably. This really left a sour taste in my mouth I walked out $317 dollars lighter in the pocket as I gave them $20 tip before I knew this was going to happen with my bank card!!!!!! Love love love my no chip manicure! The man doing my nails was extremely nice and they even included a relaxing hand massage with lotion! My nails were done at a perfect pace, not rushed. They even put hot towels on my hands afterwards. The only thing I have to say is that the hand massage could have lasted a bit longer. My daughter and wife love this place. It is large and can accommodate many people at the same time. But even with a crowd, they follow all the Covid-19 protocols, so come with a mask. They don't overcrowd the room so that they can keep within protocols, and they really require appointments. Appointments work for two reasons: first, they can control how many people show up at one time given the pandemic rules and the fact that they are always busy, and secondly the customer can schedule which artisan they would like to have do the work. Either way - make an appointment. Some of the negative comments about World Star were peeps who did not have an appointment, which was probably why they felt rushed. Find a tech you like and keep making appointments for that person. It is worth the trouble. read more

I have been to World Star in the past and did not have a good experience. I decided to give them another chance since so many people rave about them. I was disappointed yet again. Today is Sunday and I got a no chip manicure and regular pedicure on Thursday evening. The girl that did my nails appeared to take her time. My pedicure was great. The problem is the manicure. No chip manicures are supposed to last 2 weeks. Just two DAYS after my service my nails are chipping and peeling. For a $35 service this is unacceptable. I don't know if the products they use are bad or if they rush through the service. All I can say is I will never get another no chip here again. I was very disappointed in the service I received at this nail salon. I went in for a pedicure and full set and I feel like the nail tech was careless and rushed through everything. The pedicure didn't last more than 15 minutes, she didn't ask what type of pedicure I wanted and she just started going to town right away. When she applied the lotion, my feet and legs were soaking wet so it just sloshed around instead of absorbing into my skin. She pulled at my cuticles and ripped at the m instead of cutting them. Pedicures shouldn't be painful. When she did my full set, the tips were not measured appropriately and we're way too narrow. This lead to her filing my nails at a sharp angle and "burning" the sides of my real nails. When she used the tool before applying the acrylic, she must have applied too much pressure because my nail beds kept getting very hot. She told me to relax but it's impossible when I kept feeling like I was getting burned as well as being cut. It's only been three days and my pedi is already chipped (I can honestly say this has never happened from any pedi I've received anywhere) and my nails look grown out. I got a pedicure done today by Henry and he did a terrible job. None of the rough skin was scrubbed off. Hangnails aren't fixed. Cuticles not taken care of and bad polish job. I told the manager and she tried to fix it after my service so she was pulling at skin while dry and my toenails were all bleeding. Now a few hours later, my big toe, which bled the most, is throbbing and painful. I am wondering if it's infected. Wish I could sue. This kind of job deserves a refund and more but they would only provide $8 compensation. About to call better business beaurau on them and also get my credit card involved for a refund. They gave me an infection under one of my nails and when I called to rectify the situation, they asked me to send pictures and agreed to a refund. I received a terrible pedicure today that included me scrubbing my own feet. The lady only scrubbed the soft outside parts of my feet and left the dry heel untouched. Then she proceeded to tell me I needed the scrapper, I had to get the manager to let her know the lady didn't even try to scrub the heels. She proceeded to scrub my foot in front on the manager and was able to get my foot soft without the scrapper. When the manager left she half scrubbed the other foot cause she was mad. I just did it myself. She had an attitude at this point and polished my feet horribly. The manager told me some people don't care to gave the sides of white polish cleaned up.... This is poor service and I will be taking my 5+ years business somewhere else. Awful nail salon. Every time I have gone, I am disappointed in the quality. I will never go back. The technician taking off the dip on my nails kept nicking my skin with the drill tool, at least 5 times. She did not even trim my cuticles. I paid extra for the OPI shine polish, and she was not painting my nails evenly. After three coats I could still see through to my nail and it was not a light color - it's hot pink. She then proceeded to do a fourth coat, and a too coat and had my sit with a fan blowing on my nails. After 15 min they were still extremely tacky and not dry. After a few more minutes she rudely told me to get up and pay. After I left I realized at least 5 of my nails were ruined and went back in immediately to express my disappointment and ask for a refund. They refused even after looking at how awful my manicure was. After some back and forth she said she could give me $10 refund (on a $38 manicure). read more

I walked in with my sister with no appointment (sorry!) for a mani and pedi. They sat us right away no problem. They did not rush us at all and pulled out all the stops. Now you make an appointment, still wait for over a half hour, and the water almost overflows out of the pedicure tub while you still wait.. except for another employee thats doing someone elses nails turns it off in the nick of time.
