The service is almost always good and the guy that built the bike when I bought it was really cool, helpful, and informative. I can't say the prices are always great, but what place has that? I will say they always have deals and good sales and so the pricing is pretty good. They have a large selection and the place is really big so there's usually many of each item in stock. I would recommend them for, at least, an option when you're shopping for sporting goods.

Adj: Very fun sporting goods and more store!…read more We love coming to different Bass Pro Shops. They're all kind of different, and yet similar. They're all huge, just that some are even bigger than the average. This one in Mesa, AZ is one of the biggest, we were told by staff. We came while on a trip out to Phoenix area, and we were staying nearby. It was a warm, or rather sizzling hot September day. There's not really a fall in AZ is there? Winter would be fall to most in temps. Anyhow, coming into this store was perfect for getting out of the heat. We wandered immediately over to the huge aquarium. A very attractive feature that my kids just love to gravitate towards no matter how old they are. After looking at the fishes for awhile, we wandered up to the 2nd floor and looked at all the camping gears, not so much b/c we're the camping type, but b/c the products are fun to check out and we discovered some innovations in camping chairs, they have come a LONG way, so comfortable that some of them feel like couches now, or like a reclining chair, almost like a la-z-boy in your family room. After checking out the camping section, we looked at the "stuffed" animals, aka taxidermy wildlife. They are always menacing and "scary" to me. What can I say, I get squeamish around wild animals alive or dead, but of course better if they're already taken care of so I don't have to run for my life. In any case, we also checked out their archery dept which is so cool b/c you can shoot arrow and test out their bows here at their indoor range (smaller, but sufficient) before buying and get practice in with your own bow, iirc. Finally, we just walked around all over, including much of the 1st floor to check out their water sports and apparel depts, all filled with goodies and fun stuff galore. If only money is no object huh? lol. Customer service was friendly and let us browse and explore as we liked, but were there for any questions or directions.

Huge BPS store! This one is in Mesa. We were staying pretty close by, could've technically walked…read moreover had it not been so hot. Spent a couple of hours one afternoon. We love visiting BPS's, it's like going into the wilderness without the prep and mosquito bites. We're only semi-outdoors people of the paved or at least graveled/dirt-road variety, and not too much rugged terrain please for my getting-old bones. Pros: - It's for pros, hence the name, lots of specialty brands. - I feel like I'm a pro when I come here, only need to trick me. - My kids get such a kick out of this place, it's got all the cool gadgets to make camping and other outdoors adventures high-tech and fun - So many taxidermy animals, my wife hates seeing them and get squeamish, but the kids and I find them fun to look at. I personally think they're cool. Too bad I can't bring one home. - Some things on sale are pretty reasonably priced. - Huge place to walk around in, get your exercise done indoors in perfectly temp-controlled environment. - Clean bathrooms and the whole place is kept up nicely. Cons: - Some items are definitely full-retail prices - mostly hiking shoes, water sandals, didn't see much if any discounts for those. - Other items seem even higher than retail at other stores - grills, camping equipment, some knives (although I don't know prices for those as much). All in all, a great place to visit, stick to sale stuff and you can find some decent to good deal for your next outdoors adventure. Service from staff is good if you need help, just ask, otherwise, it's more a hands-off, self-serve, wander-as-you-like type of place which I prefer anyway.

I was told how great this store is by a consumer of mine, so we decided to give it a try!…read more We were greeted right when we walked in, told if we needed anything to come get checked in. I went in knowing exactly what I wanted, they are a birthday gift and I already have this pair for myself! So I grabbed the Hoka shoes I wanted took them up to him and got my name put in the little tablet with the shoes and size I wanted. My husband found a pair he wanted to try on so he got all checked in and then we waited.. and waited and waited. As employees kept coming in and out of the back room just looking out the door with tables in hand and did nothing! The other employees were helping other customers. they have a lot going on there with treadmills to try running with the shoes, they have some other stuff that helps to show how you stand and what kind of support you need. Looking around it seemed like a complete cash grab! Good for them for selling the illusion! So we waited about 30 min before one of the guys was like I'll take care of you guys soon! My husband asked for 3 different pairs of running shoes, he brought out one that was correct the others he said they didn't have the right color but here are these ones! As he tried on his shoes, I let the young man know I just needed the ones I picked out and I wanted to buy them no need to try them on! I feel at that moment he knew there was no up sale for me and he was kind of short after that! So my husband picked the ones he wanted, we went up to pay and he hit us with the VIP package $20 dollars to be able to try the shoes for 90 days and if we didn't like them we could return them! We declined the offer, he kept trying to the point where the other gentleman stepped in a little more FIRM TONED and said " if you do not do the VIP package you will not be able to retain your shoes if put on outside the store, they need to be on brand new shape not worn at all." We said that's ok thank you we understand. They still tried putting us in the system and said it's in case we forgot the receipt if we wanted to return then we wouldn't be able to! It's like you all just told us we weren't going to be able to anyway. No thanks! About$400 dollars later we say thank you and they said Nothing! No GOOD BYE NO THANKS FOR SHOPPING HERE.. nothing We were nonexistent when we didn't take the bait! If I didn't need to head out of town I would have waited on the gift and gone else where. They are not worth the time! I know the shoes we bought were worth it, just wish we spent that money at a facility that would have valued our business and time. We will NEVER BE BACK!!
