One of my favorite spots in the Gangnam food hall. They do the Hainan chicken rice very well and it's always buy one, get a second at discount. On top of the three sauces you're given, the chicken is very tender and the rice perfectly cooked and flavored. I've eaten this dish here a couple times and it's consistently good. I recently tried the beef tongue rice and that was also solid.

20% off on wednesdays! I liked the braised beef the most If you don't think about wagyu when you get it then it's great! Good value

The place is in the food court of Gangnam market and there are tons of food options here. This one stood out because of the buy one get another 50% off. Quality- the chicken is good quality. This is my first time having this type of chicken and it was moist and seasoned well. The rice was also cooked well. However, between the two dishes we got, one had substantially more chicken than the other and the sauces they give was too salty. Quantity- you get a good amount for the price. More rice than chicken though. Atmosphere- nice food court atmosphere. Service- very fast.

Love their Wagyu Donburi, so filling and full of flavors. Service is quick and price is right for the amount of food you get.

We went to Gangnam Market's food court today and I decided to try the Hainanese chicken and rice from Workout Rice. It was about 11am which wasn't that busy yet. Ordering was easy and done on a kiosk. There wasn't any interaction with staff other than when they called my ticket number. The rice was flavorful, the sauces paired well and the soup completed the dish. I was highly impressed with this dish that I finished the entire thing! I would definitely come back. I would suggest to come early since the food court filled up quickly around 12pm.

This place is located inside Gangnam Market. By the time my mom and I finished grocery shopping, it was lunchtime, so we decided that we should also try out the food court. It took us a while to decide which place to try 1st. But my mom is a huge fan of Hainanese chicken, so she decided on getting that since they also had a promotion for BOGO 50% off. My mom lives to make this at home herself, but she also likes to try out other restaurants that make them to see if they are any better than the ones she makes. It looked decent enough, so we put that to the test. My mom took a bite of the chicken and said that it was not that great...it was a fail. She said that this was not authentic. She said that the way they made the chicken was not the right kind and that they just used the seasoning to cover up the chicken. There are different chicken to buy and then season it. But this one was a regular chicken that has been seasoned to make this dish. It was not bad to be honest. I really can't taste much of a difference, but for my mom who knows how to cook, she is picky.

Coming from Boston, I had heard the news that Time Out Market is closing its doors (in both…read morelocations!) in the next week, and I was looking forward to seeing what the Chicago food hall looked like. I was surprised to see that the website does allow reservations for large groups, so we booked through Resy a few days before coming. When we arrived at Fulton Market, it took a few tries but we happily found street parking. It was a little bit overwhelming when we first walked in. It feels "bigger" than the original food hall in Lisboa or the one in Boston - not necessarily in square footage, but primarily in energy. It was very busy and especially loud, and there was a DJ booth in the corner that felt closer to a club than a restaurant. I'm guessing part of this might be because it was a Friday night, but curious if it's been busier than normal since the announcement of the market's impending closure. The "reservation" system felt nominal at best, as there weren't any tables set up when we got there - by the time I was able to flag down staff for the food hall, it would have taken quite a while for them to find seats and move them together. In the end we were able to find a corner that worked out pretty well. Similar to the Boston location, you can order online. It didn't feel prominently advertised, as the food stalls themselves all had long lines and were pretty understaffed. In addition, after ordering online, there was no notification that the order was ready for pick-up (for several of the stalls). And while TOM is in a pretty central part of Chicago, the food felt spectacularly expensive for what you were getting. Pretty much everything was over $20 (before tax + tip) for an okay amount of food. On top of that, in our large 15+ person group, the vast majority of us felt that the food was definitively below average quality. Mine in particular was Bill Kim Ramen Bowl's tofu rice bowl. It was a depressing mix of unseasoned tofu cubes, dry arugula, kimchi, plain white rice with no sauce, a handful of pickled veggies, and a half-avocado that wasn't even sliced. It tasted about how it looks. None of that surprises me, but it felt like a far cry from the Lisboa concept, where I was a repeat customer for the high-quality food by distinguished chefs at extremely affordable prices. I'm glad I went, but won't be especially sad to see it go.

Bill Kim's was perfect because they had gluten free options. We ended up with pork ramen with rice noodles. The food was ready quick and the broth was a little spicy and flavorful. Has all kinds of noodles. There's a bunch to choose from obviously. A pretty popular option in this hipster market on Fulton. It's on the first floor on the west side of the market. There's often a pretty long line it seems. Annoying but okay. It means this is good stuff. Only bad thing is it gets expensive. The noodles are topped with lots of stuff. It's about $18 for a bowl. Last time got the Veggie Ramen. A bunch of noodles in shoyu broth. That's a broth made from soy. Came with lots of vegetables full of flavor. There was cabbage, cilantro, eggs which I left off, marinated bean sprouts, mushrooms, radish, scallions, and tofu. Filling bowls. It's kind of expensive but these are bowls packed full of stuff. There's even a bowl of ramen that's okay for vegetarians.

Have any of you amazing, wonderful, and lovely humans seen my review for Sterling Food Hall…read more(formerly Revival). In said review, I docked them a star for a disproportionate number of spots having sandwiches by any other name. I even went into Excel and made a pie-chart (true to form as a man in finance!) With Washington Hall, I could create a pie chart, but I don't see a reason to. Their offerings are still growing, but even with what's available now, the selection is awesome. Just going from memory, there is Indian, pizza, wings, hot dogs, Latin-American, Greek, and a Stan's Donuts (and probably a few I missed). The hall, including the restrooms are clean, and there is ample seating, plus more upstairs. The vibe is open and airy. Not as pretty or unique as Sterling, but I'm not really complaining - as long as it's clean and not depressing, I don't care that much. I am looking forward to making my way through trying all the spots within, and giving the bar a go when it opens. Hopefully most of the food vendors will be open in the evening.
