Here on vacation and needed somewhere to workout, I originally looked at hitting the Gold down the road from my house but after all the horrible reviews I figured this would be my best bet. Here's the low down: The 7 day pass is only valid for locals with a local ID. A weekly pass is outrageous at $45. (Huh? That's double the monthly rate!!!) *weekly pass isn't 24/7, only access when staffed (6am-8pm) A day pass is $12 (Golds is $10) But after paying and getting inside it's worth it. The equipment seems fairly new and the place is super clean! The free weights are located near a huge mirror although the lighting isn't ideal... (narcissistic millennial, sue me) But all the other equipment is well lit and laid out perfectly. I showed up around 12:30pm and it was almost empty except for some really attractive females (SOLD). Loads of treadmills and ellipticals, but I could see this place getting packed fairly quickly at peak hours. ***Overall this place will be my go to from now on; as long as you miss peak hours and don't mind paying $12 a day this place is wayyy better than any other option in town. read more

travel nurse working in Destin for three months. Walked into Destin workout anytime and asked how much to join for three months was told it was roughly about $19 every two weeks. was told 30 days before I leave to come in and cancel. Was hit today with a $53 annual maintenance fee. When I questioned this was told. "Sorry!" pretty much you should've read the small print! Yes, I take accountability for not reading that. I trusted the word of the gentleman that I spoke with when I signed up. My bad. However, I question what exactly the maintenance fee covers because the place is not in good shape. It's always filthy. The handles are broken off of a good amount of the treadmills. The handles that aren't broken off are simply out of order. Nurses beware! Not worth it and read your contract! read more

Have been a member of this location for several years and no obvious maintenance has been done to upkeep the gym. The AC has been broken for over 2 weeks now and the gym sits at a hot 82 degrees most days. Almost 1/2 of the treadmills are broken. A-lot of the equipment is filthy and taped back together. The whole gym is covered in dust and dirt and way too cluttered with machines. No personal training offered at this location even though when I signed up I was told they would be offering it in the next year. No area for stretching or working on the mats since they moved everything around. Hydromassage bed also frequently isn't working. The only thing that does work consistently is the tanning bed so that is worth the 1 star. read more

The gym is filthy dirty and womens bathroom is always out of toilet paper in the morning. There is dirt on every machine and carpet is filthy. This morning 5 people waited outside until someone let them in. No membership and hogging all the weights. Wishing a planet fitness would open. read more

I only use this facility in the winter and would like to give them a better rating but the place really needs a deep cleaning. Also too many worn out machine pads. Lots of equipment clutter. read more

If I could give this place a 10/5 I would! We are on vacation and very big gym rats. My husband and I went to find a gym and stopped at Golds gym first since we are from Houston and have tried them before. As we walked in the door, the man said to my husband " how much does your physique cost to you?" When we asked about a 7 day pass. As a couple who goes to Alphaland and Species (very well known gyms), this was so rude. So we walked out the door. BUT when we came here, Gage was so amazing to us!! Greeted us as we walked in, told us about the day passes, and answered any questions we had. While working out, he would walk around, re-rack the equipment if needed, and/or wipe anything down that needed to be cleaned. Once we were leaving, he asked how we liked the place and if we enjoyed our workout. He also recommended some good restaurants around town and it was so helpful! 10/10 would come back just to work out and see Gage again! read more

So the business manager that replied to my review didn't even respond to me when I directly messaged her about becoming a member, so yeah, not sure who she is but she's as incompetent and unresponsive as anyone at the location itself. I'm looking at reviews on here from 2016 saying EXACTLY the same things. I'm seriously intrigued how businesses let these kind of issues drag out for YEARS when customers literally are trying to help them do better. You can make your own decision but theres no excuse for thi. In the "business managers" response, she blamd covid, so do you really need any more info? This place is a pit. Many machines that have leather covers need to have the covers replaced, as they are ripped. The floor has never been steam cleaned & is filthy. It needs to be replaced. It is an 8-year-old gym that has never been deep cleaned. The treadmills & stair climbers have so much grime on them that they need to be steamed cleaned. The owner takes her money & invests into more gyms instead of repairing & cleaning up this one. read more

I wish someone would open a Planet Fitness franchise in Destin. I got the unwelcome feeling also. I don't like the drive on the raceway 98 to the Mary Esther planet fitness but it seems to be my only choice. Destin to Santa Rosa Beach has grown a lot. The gym had a lot of equipment. It was kind of small and the equipment was packed really tightly in there. There was no one at the front desk when I walked in so I had to wait 5-10 minutes to get a guest pass. The gentleman who came in shortly after was nice though. read more

Least expensive 24/7 facility in Destin opened 01/15/16. Renovated store front facility with brand new everything. Matrix equipment, reAct trainer, hydro massage, tanning and personal training offered. Showers available. Straight forward fee/terms. Friendly staff. read more

We wish we had a gym like this in St. Louis, MO! For the past 3 years we have gotten the week membership while vacationing in Destin. Staff is very friendly, up to date equipment, very clean. Very nice gym! Got to meet the owner last time we were in, very nice young man! Definitely be there again in July! read more

Not a good gym whatsoever. The staff is VERY rude. Definitely not a good thing to be know for as a gym. The man who runs the front desk was very rude when asked simple questions about signing up and guest passes. Why would you turn away customers who are willing to pay money to just workout at your gym for a couple days???? So my girlfriend and I took our business to the Golds Gym down the street. Ten times better place and wayyyyyy better staff. read more
