It is now, APRIL 5TH, 2016 and I have been into the gym about five times. Three times it was still cold, 2ce since the weather warmed up. Last week, the weather was 70* outside and breezy and very sunny. AF has windows all facing west. I went inside and it was so hot and stale in there I immediately turned to a member and asked, "have you been a member here long'? He said, four years. I asked him if it was always 'this hot' in here, and his response? "SOMETIMES I WONDER IF THEY HAVE AIR AT ALL". It was only March 30th! What is this going to be like in June? He went on to explain that "recently he got off the elliptical and felt like there was a 90lb weight on him from the sweat. "Sometimes they don't even have the ceiling fans on and that's usually the only air I feel". My face started turning blood red which does when there is DEAD STALE HOT AIR. **** It was about 90* in the place. I approached the female staff member about how hot it was and wondered if it were like this in March/April what is it like in summer? I got some guff and a blank stare about the heat being on 2 weeks earlier (random and irrelevant) This woman was wearing a hoodie in 90* stagnant air. I think she makes the gym comfortable for HER not the MEMBERS. I want a gym I can go to in the dead of summer, but not if at 70* it's already HOT and stagnant with NO AIR ON AT ALL. My contract is worth $1008, turn the air on!!!!! The employee checked the thermostat in her tiny office and said, 'it's 74 in here". No, dear the ambient was 74* which meant it was 90* in the gym. IF THE AC WAS ON, 74? REALLY? My face was getting redder and redder as I stood in front of her and she said, well, I can turn it down for you...but sorry, it was too late. I was overheated and left. I came home and worked out. I was fine 5 minutes after I left the gym. THERE WAS NOT ONE OUNCE OF FRESH AIR IN THAT GYM! Now, it is APRIL 5TH and I just got a call that my membership is non-existent. THEY DON'T HAVE MY ORIGINAL $80 mbrship fee I paid that day in November. I just pulled out my contract and 1.It's not counter-signed and 2. I would have to repay the $80 at the gym in person AGAIN. I am now at the point of not wanting to go back due to the temperature (which obviously has been a long time problem) but, additionally, because I had the money in Nov, I don't now! ($80) GET YOUR AC SERVICED, IT IS UNDER 3000 SQ FT IN THAT SMALL GYM, IT SHOULD BE 68* ALL THE TIME. NOT 90* I'm still deciding to re-join. My friend David who is Running across the country from Jacksonville Fla. to San Francisco was lucky enough to have Jennifer take care of him, he's still raving about her.
