There is so much to say about the love that I have for this place! I was never a gym person. Lifting weights or running a treadmill was never my thing. I grew up in dance classes and did yoga. When my wife dragged me in to try a class with her, I went expecting to hate it, not being able to keep up, or even understand what they were saying--but it blew my mind. The energy in the room was so addictive, so positive, so encouraging all around. The trainers are attentive, and cater to all levels. They are perfectly knowledgeable about training, nutrition, and most importantly to me; motivation. They know when to cheer you on, and when to push you to work harder. They learn everyone's names almost instantly, and quickly learn what you are capable of (usually before even you know!) I was sore and tired after my first class, but I knew I needed more of this in my life. More muscle, more challenge, more positive energy. The variety of classes available paired with amazing trainers and supportive community keep me coming back for more every week. It shares a building with another gym called Primal. --PARKING-- Street parking or parking lot a few buildings down (I parked on the street) --SPACE/AMENITIES-- Front desk, lounge area, bathrooms/lockers, and gym studio Lounge room has full sized couches, water dispenser, cubbies, snacks, and face/body towels available. Bathrooms has 2 showers, toilet, and powder room +hair spray +deodorant +body spray +cotton wipes +hair ties and bobby pins +shampoo, soap, conditioner +plastic bag for dirty items +lockers if you don't use the exposed cubbies in lounge area Gym is one large room and fully stocked! Some equipment I saw/used (not complete list): +boxes +kettle balls, weighted balls +treadmills, bikes +TRX, weighted ropes +slides, leg resistance bands +free weights, bars --WORKOUT-- Circuit training and HIIT! The owners are a lovely couple, Dane and Kara, who will walk you through a group workout of different circuits at different stations. For roughly 45 minutes, they will make you work hard and end it with a nice cool down. There will be light interaction between the fellow workout peers, but nothing uncomfortable (i.e., pair up to do an interchanging workout of person A holds a plank while person B completes 15 jump squats, then switch). I'm still relatively new to this gym (12 classes in), but so far, I love it! Spacious and clean facilities with lots of different kinds of equipment. The classes are intense and kind of a mix of bootcamp and CrossFit. Trainers are awesome possum, esp Anthony and Sofee! I'm always paranoid I'll hurt myself, so I love it when trainers actually take the time to correct your form and teach you the moves. If I had to nitpick, the parking lot is awkward but that's really it lol. read more

I thought I was doing a pretty good job staying in shape - until I came to Work. Their workouts are TOUGH, which is a good thing! I have gone to two workouts so far, so I wanted to offer my perspective as a new "WORKer." For the past few months, my main workout has been CorePower Yoga's "Yoga Sculpt" class, which is basically hot yoga + HIIT + weight sculpting. I absolutely love that class, but I felt like I was getting in a funk because I was taking it so many times. I found this studio on ClassPass and the facility is awesome. You don't need to worry about bringing towels, because they are provided. The restroom and shower facilities are very nice! Everyone is very kind here, from the instructors to the front desk staff. Because so many of these exercises are new to me, I love that they take the time to demo them. I also love how there is more of an emphasis on bodyweight strength exercises and weight sculpting, versus just running on a treadmill for 30 minutes (*cough cough Orangetheory*) I do wish they had later classes, I believe the last one is at 6:30. I've been attending WORK classes for over a month now and I absolutely love them! The classes are so fun and satisfying - I always feel great after my workouts. The instructors are professional, motivational, and always there to help us get through the workouts! The staff is also so friendly and welcoming. I love that there's a sense of community here at WORK. Other members have been so encouraging and it really feels like a team effort getting through the challenging workouts. 1.5 years and 200+ classes we are absolutely hooked! My husband and I joined WORK with Class Pass started off as a #sheddingforthewedding and we never realized we would literally not be able to stop. The team at WORK is absolutely amazing, the community they have built is so positive, and most importantly the workouts are not only tough but they are fun and engaging. Before WORK I probably never picked up a dumbbell over 15 pounds and most of life I just knew to do cardio and now I can squat over 80 pounds so when I say WORK is for all levels I really mean all levels if I can do it any one can! You can take class with any of the instructors at work because they are all equally amazing - which is so so rare. My original goal was just simply to lose weight and look great in my wedding dress and yes I accomplished that but then it became part of my life and made me not only "skinnier" but stronger - I owe all my ability to now carry a 40 pound bag of cat litter up a flight of stairs to the strength I built up at WORK. (And when you have 2 cats like me, you do that quite often haha) WORK is not a gym membership - it's an investment to a healthy and strong life style. I never imagined I would get up at 6 AM to go to class almost everyday .. willingly.. but now it's the highlight of our day and a great way for my husband and I to spend some time together without sitting on the couch and watching TV. This is probably the most active I ever been in my adult life and to say that WORK has changed our lives is an understatement. I can totally see why this place earns 5 stars in every review. I came here through the ClassPass while I'm visiting Cali for a week. I live in NY and went to similar class in NY. This place beats any place in NY. I told my friends that I found this secret superhero training gym! Parking: street parking, can be little annoying but manageable. Facility: super clean and spacious (again tiny NY facilities can't compare to here), they provide complementary towels as well People: the instructor, Dane, is very friendly and encouraging. Obviously I was the weakest palest Asian newbie in the class. I couldn't even change the weight on this device (45lbs) but he kept an eye on me and asked other people to help me. He also gave me a bottle of water after I lost mine. Everyone in the class is friendly as well (and they all look like body trainers already) Class: pretty organized and instructions are clear and the instructor checks on everyone to make sure we know what's going on (or to make sure I know what's going on as everyone else is already pretty good) If I move back to Irvine in the future I'll definitely join this place. read more

Love this gym! I found the gym using ClassPass and I'm so glad I did. The class I attended was on a Wednesday which is a "pulse" class - aka hardcore HIIT training. The workout was amazing, it was definitely hard - I came out sweating but it felt amazing! The vibe in the gym was super welcoming, from the employees to the gym members. Everyone was super nice! I've been going to WORK for almost a year. Consistent over the summer, off and on through the fall and now been a 3x / week regular since November. I went from a casual ClassPass user to a 12 class/month member. The community of other 'workers' is infectious. I only go in the mornings and get to train with some of the best in the biz: Madison, Stephanie and Dane. But the rest of the staff is top notch. They all inspire in their own ways, they challenge and push you when you don't think you have anything left to give...when you do. I'm thankful for my buddy who persisted me to try it out and in turn for WORK and their community to welcome me in. If you're looking for a challenge, no matter where you are on the fitness spectrum, and want results - check this place out. It's not really WORK if you love it. That's what I say. read more

Talk about a WORKout!! So I have tried all of the group fitness classes in orange county, for the most part. I've done everything from the free 24 hour fitness classes all the way up to the bougie Barry's Boot Camp and everything in between. My office was near this gym and I remember when it just opened back in 2015 and Dane came in and handed out a bunch of free passes to me. I stopped by a few times early on, but I moved office locations and this was no longer convenient for me. A few of my spin friends are WORKers here, as well as my boyfriend, so after a hip injury and two months of physical therapy, I thought I would give it another try to strengthen my muscles. I started coming regularly in February 2019 and have seen significant improvements to my strength and overall physique. I love everyone here from Brandon and Cassie at the front desk to all of the trainers and of course--DANE. Not to mention the amazing love and support you get from all the fellow WORKers. I highly recommend this gym if you want a full body workout without the stuck up meathead vibes of some other gyms in the area (will remain nameless). I am so glad to see how far this place has come, especially from such humble beginnings. I wish Dane and Kara continued success in all of their future endeavors! read more

This is the first gym I've ever joined and I'm so happy with it! I've done free trials and free classes with other gyms, but this is the one that kept me wanting to come back. The trainers here are super friendly and helpful, and after just a few weeks, I already feel a difference in my body. I've been running for half my life but I've been experiencing knee pain for the past year and a half so I'm not running nearly as much as I used to so I needed something else to use my energy on and this gym has been the perfect remedy for it. I signed up for this place through $100 introductory deal for 10 class. I managed to take five of 10 classes and I have to admit that for this place you have to be really in good shape to survive some of the classes. The class "Pulse" and "Impact" are really high intensity classes that are not for weak of hearts. I am not greatly out of shape as I can do two spin classes back to back and I can do Yoga but those two classes, especially "Pulse" is just way too intense. So, if you wanting to change up your boring workout routine, this is the place to challenge yourself. Even the warm up in the Pulse is very challenging !!!! The Gym: Clean facility, shower room and more than adequate training equipment with lots of knowledgeable instructors who know their stuff. The facility get 5 out of 5. Instructors: All instructors are very good at this gym. My two favorites instructors are Dane and Stephanie: The instructors here deserve 5 out of 5. The parking: A logistic nightmare in the afternoon-you always end up parking in the street but it is still not that easy. It is hard to find spot during afternoon classes even if you want to park in street. The parking situation deserve a 4 out of 5 stars for morning classes and 1 of out 5 for the evening classes. The Classes: There are five fitness classes offered here. Each class concentrate on workout either on your core, leg, upper body or combination of a little of every part of your body. The classes are well planned and the classes description is below: Pulse: Help your muscles recover by putting your heart to work. This high intensity full body cardio class gets your blood pumping to circulate vital nutrients to your arms and legs to help them recover. Leave breathless but feeling like a boss. This is like a serious mini boot camp and very high intensity: i managed to survive 40 minutes out of 55 minutes in this class. You have to be 100% mentally ready to finish this class. If you can survive the 55 minutes, you have done well. Class quality is definitely 4 out of 5. Reach: "Follow every push with a pull. This class balances Force by strengthening the posterior upper body muscles that hold our posture, lengthen our spine, and stabilize our core." I would have to say that this is my very favorite class. Class quality is definitely 5 out of 5. Impact: "End your week with a bang by putting your skills to work. Speed, agility, quickness, and power add a competitive edge to bring out the inner athlete in all of us." This is the 2nd hardest class. Class quality is definitely 4 out of 5. Rooted: "The foundation of your body is the foundation of our WORK week. Never skip Leg Day." This was the easiest class for me. I managed to survive this one with no serious failure in my form when doing the exercises. Niki Mo mostly teaches this class and she is very knowledgeable. Overtime: "Clock back in for a little Overtime. Designed to give each body part an extra touch, this class takes a piece from each weekday for a full body workout that puts your strength, cardio, and ethic to WORK." This class is a bit of every class that you will take during the week. And I also liked this class: Class quality is definitely 5 out of 5. The Negative: The only negative in this gym is the ratio of the high number of participants to the instructor. I think that each class is about 18-30 students: I give this aspect of the WORK Gym 2 out 5. I just can't imagine that any single instructor by himself or herself can really catch you if your exercise forms are wrong while you are doing your exercises. Don't get me wrong: I got corrected few times while I was working out at this place but I felt that some of the WORKERS in the gym were just going through the motion as I did on many occasions. The gym participants numbers per ratio of fitness instructor is just too overwhelming for one instructor to properly pay attention to everyone in term of their forms. I also did not feel that I am getting the most of my time there but rather going through routine. Some of my workout in other smaller gym have given me a feel that I have really worked a muscle group in that gym that day. Yes-while I liked the energy, the synergy, the instructors and the environment, I don't think that this GYM could be a right gym for everyone and at least, I can say that I have been there, done that but don't love it neither do I hate it. By going to the "WORK", I realized that I am more of spin lover and yoga lover. But just because I give this place "3", that should not stop you from trying this place. read more

They have not skipped a beat, the place is still immaculate, classes are amazing and well thought out both workout wise and playlist wise and last but not least... Dane, Kara, Marybeth and Scott are absolutely incredible and motivational. It's tough for a lot of people to go to the gym. A lot of them, including myself, feel inferior or intimidated... maybe a bit shy. One of the most important things about this place is that their core people truly care about every single person in there. They "SEE" you, you aren't just some girl/guy that takes their classes and goes in and out. They push you to the best of your ability, they are professionals - they just KNOW and they just freaking ROCK! If you haven't been and are looking for a place to call your gym, I highly suggest trying this place out. Love this place! You get such a great HIIT workout they'll leave you sweating (and wanting more!). The workouts are also very unique and very different than Orange Theory or Barry's Bootcamp. The instructors and front desk staff are all courteous and helpful. The facility is pretty good and clean. There are a couple showers and a large dressing area with lockers. The space is very rustic /industrial chic and very spacious. The classes are always full (good sign as people love coming here), however the space is so large that you are not on top of each other at all. Prices are extremely reasonable for a person who is willing to put in the WORK. Relative to Barry's or Orange Theory it won't break the bank if you are the type committed to health and fitness. It may be pricey if you aren't fully committed, but that is every studio between LA and OC. My only minor issue is that parking sucks as it's a very busy street so you have to park down the street which is like a 3 minute walk. Also, the classes tend to start about 3-5 minutes late as people are chatting it up with the instructor. I kinda just want to get in and get out! But, that's my own issue. :) read more

I go to this studio once a week with ClassPass. I love the overtime classes since they really kick your butt in 1 hour! It's a great full body working in a circuit style format. I love that this studio is always clean and has fresh towels for your face and large towels available as well. The men's and women's room each have 2 private showers, 2 bathrooms, and a changing/locker area. The workouts incorporate a variety of equipment: barbells, treadmill/bike, resistance bands, TRX bands, dumbbells, medicine and stability balls, etc. Sometimes, I'm already tired after the warm up, which can be intense! The instructor is always high energy playing good upbeat music and also goes around to correct your technique. Dane, one of the instructors is super friendly and loves to push your limits in class. I took my husband to an overtime class and he was impressed with this place! He also died after 1 class! Overall, a great studio and nice amenities. Parking on the street or in the lot is always ample, never had an issue. One of the best gyms I've been to! read more
