Absolutely adore WordsWorth books. This has been my go to spot for years before I moved away- the selection is fantastic, the service is friendly without being overbearing. If you would like to place a special order, it arrives quickly. Yes, they may be a bit more expensive than a bigger box store or the online ordering platform, but the personal attention and ability to recommend books far surpasses any downside. Cozy without being claustrophobic as many bookstores can be, and hosts local author signings frequently. A great store in the Heights that has been serving the community well for years. Superb little book shop that's well-worth a visit if you're in Little Rock. My grandparents have been getting books from here for years and now I understand why. It has a small but carefully crafted collection that includes everything from summer reading to rare first editions to signed copies to just plain random local stuff like a guide to unique phrases used in Southern State Legislatures. Prices aren't cheap, but not overpriced either. Staff was very helpful and offered to gift wrap my book when I mentioned it was for my brother's birthday. Random posters on the walls including I think Brueghel's Triumph of Death were pretty awesome. They even sold T-shirts with your favorite literary greats like Steinbeck on the front. Pretty extensive children's section too. Wish I had something like this near me. read more

By far this is the best bookstore in Little Rock. Whatever I want, they always seem to have and if they don't, they will order it for me. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. You can't get that at the big chains. read more

As an out-of-town customer living in northern Virginia where politics are endemic and Amazon HQ2 is on its way, I love supporting an independently owned/operated bookstore in our Heartland. Small stores like WordsWorth are what our great nation was founded upon. While our local hardware stores have been replaced by Home Depot and Lowes, small farmers by large agriculture, and our nation's bakeries by large grocery chains, kudos to our small business owners like those running WordsWorth. A Little Rock institution, located in The Heights, the most upscale neighborhood in the state. Great selection of general and local interest books and gifts. Hang out there a couple of times you you'll probably make friends with the knowledgeable staff, who can special order books, gift wrap, etc. Also the place to rub elbows with the local gentry, from politicians to celebrities (yes, we have a few, I ran into Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen there last year). They're also quite active in the community, selling books at Clinton School events and doing regular book reviews on local television. read more

This place is cute, and it's near some good restaurants. I usually stop in just because it's convenient. I've never purchased anything although they have a selection of random items like knitted gloves and games that are interesting. They have a good selection of books for a small book store, and it's organized so that everything is easy to find. The staff is very nice. I'll continue to drop in. read more

This independent bookstore in the Heights neighborhood is a comfortable place to go for all my reading needs. The knowledgeable owner and the friendly staff are available to guide readers to special interests - classics, biographies, mysteries, cookbooks, travel guides, historical literature - you name it! They will special-order a book for me, and it usually arrives within a few days. I love the children's area, where my grandchildren can browse without feeling that anything is "hands off." Interesting authors are on their schedule of book signings. Unique greeting cards and seasonal gift items are another plus. Gift wrapping is free, even when I don't spend very much money, which is usually the case. Little Rock is a small city, where businesses often flourish or fail by word-of-mouth. And the word is out: big chain stores can't compare with Wordsworth's personal service! read more

I have shopped at Wordsworth for some years and appreciate the small-bookstore atmosphere and personal attention they provide. They cannot meet big box bookstore prices, but will help you find anything you are looking for. They are to me, a little bit of Americana of old, and I like to help support them. I can also find some local writers' books that I have not found other places. read more
