Agreed to cancel our contract in email (after begging us to stay by offering the same service for $99/mo, which we're paying over $500/mo for.) We declined, they said they will continue with cancelation. Next month rolls around and we have a charge for service, they say they won't cancel our contract anymore and will now offer a 40% discount to "help us out." These are the kinds of business practices that lead to class action lawsuits, fortunately I'm in a family full of lawyers who love taking down corrupt companies. I've given wordstream 48 hours to refund and abide by their cancelation, I will update this review if they decide to follow their word. Terrible company and performance, but great salesman working you from day 1 to get that contract signed. Just checkout the Adwords screenshot I included. You can see that right when I started using Wordstream and following their algorithms' suggestions, and those of the consultant, COSTS SOARED HIGHER, and yet CONVERSION RATE PLUMMETED. My 3 month contract ended and I canceled two weeks prior, which is 12 days earlier than I needed to, and yet they still charged me an extra month of fees and refused to refund me my money. Just going to echo the horror stories below, I lost $2400 to these fools in just 10 days at which point I cancelled. The only saving grace for me is I was able to identify how terrible they were (I am pretty good with analyzing incoming data) sooner than others did below, it certainly wasn't any cheaper for me however unfortunately. I certainly wish I would have checked them out here first before moving forward! They promise a lot, which does not happen, and leave out important details such as it won't be on your account, rather their account. The sales guy is good, but then once you make your payment, it is the last time you will speak with anyone. Despite the fact that he says you will speak with an account manager. They will just start your campaign without clearing anything with you or speaking with you about what exactly you want to do, keywords, info about your business, etc. The only way to communicate to them is via email, then they respond after a few days and the emails are extremely short and brief, like they cannot be bothered. They started my campaign before any tracking was setup or attempted, and judging by the traffic, (8-10 second stays, bounce rates increased by 200%) length of time on the site, and pages viewed (a drop in viewed pages by 90% from my campaigns) it was very obvious extremely low quality cheap click rates they were paying. After 10 days of holding my breath I finally screamed loud enough to have someone call me. I explained the horrible traffic and the importance of getting the tracking setup, I said 3-4 times that it needed to happen ASAP! She said ok. After 30 mins I sent a refresher email to our conversation that I needed an email address to add to my campaign so it could be tracked. Nothing, finally I emailed and told her to turn everything off and cancel. She wrote a snippy email back that just because she hasn't responded in an hour, well it had been 2.5 hours, compounded by 10 days before it when my money was what was being wasted. I received my refund today. To give an idea, on my shopping campaign I run $100 per day and usually get very high return on that, about 5X. They claim they spent $240 per day, and I received 2 sales. I know they probably paid no more than 10 cents for those clicks, yet charged me almost $1 per click as the math turned out. Between horrible no contact customer service, to false promises and hidden truths, to a horrible service that only eats your money like a really bad slot machine; I will echo what someone said below... don't walk, run, very fast from this fast food garbage agency!!! read more

I hired Wordstream to create a custom ad campaign and then partner with me on PPC. Like other reviews, the salesperson was great and promised "the world". I run a local roofing company, specializing in roof replacements following our annual hailstorms - and mostly insurance work. The "expert" account manager Derek had no clients of similar experience and did not plan negative keywords for autos, RV, and states outside my own. So instead of "roofing company colorado", I was being charged for "RV repair Ohio". Seriously, are you just that dumb or inexperienced? In the end, I canceled as during my 6 months working with them, I did not have a single (yup, that's 0) qualified leads. My dead grandmother could not have done worse. Wordstream makes a lot of promises but doesn't perform at the high level of service they pitch you with. Once you get past the great salesman it's all downhill from there. One mistake after another then the bully of the office Kristin Yorardi calls to let me know my attitude was unacceptable and she will not tolerate the way I talked to the employees. She at least voided the $18,000 contract and gave a refund. I think the kicker was when I explained to her Wordstream ran an 8 second 40 yard dash out of the gate and the expectation was a 4.5. But seriously I swear to you Kristin if your company can't perform and meet the expectations you don't want me as a customer. I paid for the 3-month contract BS and were suppose to have a "professional rep" to help with the software...2 months in my CPA went up and I'm overspending. I have had a terrible experience with this Wordstream as well. They made lots of promises that don't deliver. Do not purchase this software! I signed up to help with our process of managing clients. I made the mistake of listening to their advice that almost made me lose a client that has been with our company for over 5 years. Their answer was to move the rep off the account and give me a new one. I managed to save the client because I went into Google Ads Manager and fixed the issues. When I signed up the sold me on the ability to use their platform to do proposals for Facebook ads. That function suddenly disappeared and everyone acts like it never existed. Now every time I go into my account I get error messages (I also receive emails) saying I have errors with the connections to my Google Ads and Facebook ads accounts. Then when I try to reconnect it says they are already connected. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting. That works until I log out and in again. Today I received another support email saying I need to do that again. Another mistake I made was to sign up for a year (to save money). Every request to cancel and receive a prorated refund has been ignored. What I don't understand is how many other platforms have them at 4 or 5 stars. Are they buying reviews? This company is the embodiment of a business to business sales organization that will lie through their teeth and do anything possible to get you through the door. I was promised that I would be able to see results with 2k a month in AdWords and wouldn't have to continue if it didn't work. As soon as I got done with the sales guy the actual person who works on your campaign told me that it's their job to get you in and it's his job to keep you going....all while laughing. As a note: I'm leaving reviews for this company because I can't get in touch with ANY person besides the poor customer support kids. We submitted, in writing, our cancellation request 10/21/15, to support@wordstream.com. As of 4/19/2016, we're still getting billed, to the tune of $400 per month. The entire experience has been a lesson in how crucial it is to only work with companies that ensure you are able to contact them when needed. And no, that doesn't mean sending in an email to a support person, then waiting for a few days for a response. From the moment we started with them, I was shocked by the unprofessional attitude and lax response times of both the customer support team as well as our 'customer success specialist'. Incredibly poor customer service. Need to speak to someone to update your account? Good luck, there's a pretty good chance "all agents are busy" and you'll hit voicemail. Want to cancel? You better be prepared to followup, and don't assume that just because your account is cancelled that you won't be billed indefinitely. In the case of our group, we've been billed for 6 months after cancellation. Avoid this group if you are a decision maker thinking you might benefit from assistance in managing Adwords. Their software might be great (although I'm pretty skeptical about that), but in the long run it's their customer service that is the dealbreaker. read more

I think is a horribly inconsiderate move for a company to conduct a phone interview, tell the interviewer that they've moved onto the next step of the process: a face to face group interview with the team, ask for the applicant's availability for the next week, not respond for almost a week, then turn the applicant down in a short email that barely explains anything. Canceled the service in April 2019. I was immediately called and they offered to drop the price $550 a month so accepted. My controller notified me this month that the billing went up $300. The new price was never applied and I was over charged thousands. Contacted Wordstream and their reply was that I didn't e-sign a new contract and if I didn't like that I could go to my credit card company. WordStream is a scam. You will overpay and by a lot. They charge a percentage on your total spend as well as a flat rate. Anyone that charges a percent of total spend is incentivized to spend more of your hard earned money. I learned PPC on my own. It took me a few hours. I have the same business as my brother. We sell the same products. I did Adwords by myself. He used WordStream. We had the same campaign and very similar Ad Group. I set my Ad Group up a year ago and haven't made any edits since. It took me an hour. I got 1,285 clicks at $1.93 per click and a bounce rate of 32.7% (3 month period). He got 831 clicks at $16.32 per click with a bounce rate of 48.03%. So I paid a total of $2,480.05. He paid $13,561.92 plus $800 each month to WordStream ($2,400) plus 9% of spend ($1,220.57). In other words, I got 454 more clicks or 54.6% more than my brother and spent $14,702.44 less than he did. Here's the kicker: I also got 15.33% more relevant clicks due to my lower bounce rate. So I got more clicks and better clicks than he did and for nearly 15k less! This is just one Ad Group and in a short time period. He was with them for nearly a year and had dozens of Ad Groups. This is not a joke. My brother got ripped off beyond words. I'm a novice. They are "experts". Run from WordStream. 5 star reviews are from people that know nothing about PPC. read more

I receive almost 1 email a month from their rep, Gleb Makagon, Senior Paid Search Consultant at WordStream. All but ruined our online adwords campaign. I admit our adwords were not 1st class before Wordstream took them over, however after they did it went from good to horrible. We went from spending $60 per day to $240 when we where promised we would need to spend less. The ads where written by a computer. We are an electrical contractor and the ad that they had the highest cost per click set for was an ad for a product we don't install and the products we make the most money on where spelled incorrectly. Its ridiculous that they charge over $500 a month for nothing. My father signed with them after a slick salesman promised to reduce the budget needed and improve our clicks. I would advise steering clear from this company. The software is overpriced. You can get the same thing for $30 a month with callrail.com. The consulting is a joke. Most of the advise they will tell you is to continue to run the ads to collect data. (Ultimately to lengthen the contract). From personal experience, the company I work for changed their phone system to VOIP and different phone numbers. Their software can only track one phone number, therefore it posed a problem. I reached out and the fellow by the name of Chris Pierce told me he would drop off 35% off the entire bill because of the inconvenience. Long story short, he told the consultant I was working with I no longer had consulting (no sure why??) and the 35% only applied to the platform. (Pretty sneaky). For a client whose trust is shaky because of the platforms inabilities, they don't try to retain, but go around in circles... insane! Give them a try, your experience may be different... Responded to an email to do a trial of a conversion optimization product. Should have know better... I've tried their "services" before and have found them severely lacking - when my AdWords score in their "grader" went up, real-world performance tanked. Anyway, next thing I know, the "Business Development Rep" is submitting a Contact Us request on our company website telling me how crappy they think our Ads campaigns are. Except I never disclosed that info or gave them permission to contact me that way. They had a phone number and an email address they could reach me with. But the rep went searching... She even looked me up on LinkedIn! And, oh yeah, they weren't given permission to access that Ads account, either! The rep sent me a copy of the lead info she received. About 1/2 of it matched what I submitted or what was on the account (I have screenshots to prove it). If their lead management tool can't accurately relay information, I cringe to think what other garbage they're using/pushing. And good luck contacting them via email or cancelling your account! I've searched their site high and low. No "contact us" info other than a phone number. And their Terms only talk about how or when THEY can cancel your account. read more
