You get a better deal, the more tapes you have converted. Nothing gets erased either. Every place I called were more expensive and they send out their jobs, I, in no way, wanted my tapes mailed out whatsoever. I worked with Charles at Sound and Vision - the nicest guy, very helpful and friendly. Actually, he set me up in a room, so I could go through my tapes first and see what was what and then I could label for the tapes, etc. My experience was top-notch service. What this means is, if you are clear about your needs, he will get the work done on time and on budget. On top of that, so much of web/graphic design these days happens behind your back, maybe it's just being pawned off overseas to subcontractors or something? I don't like that. Andy doesn't do that. Andy is VERY local. You've seen him around town, you just don't know that's him. Why even consider a design guy who isn't close by and invested in your community? He wants all clients to succeed, especially local ones, so he'll be a booster for your cause. As for his style? I have been working around graphic designers for the past 6 years. Andy has a command for 2 things in particular. Font & Color. It can be so frustrating to work with a designer who "just doesn't get it", you try to pull them one way and they resist, shrinking back down into their hole... okay, that was a little too colorful, I'll admit, but if you've ever dealt with them, you KNOW what I'm talking about. I had them build an 8 page site with bookings page, customer portal where clients can post their stories with photos and a page where I could provide reports and photos of the changing company activities. All of this was delived very smoothly by Dimtri and his team. These folks are professionals and as such have a contract spelling out what will be done. Don't be deterred by that, personally I think it's just smart business practice. Also if you are planning your site at least take pen in hand and write out everything you want and if possible what each page will look like and say.
