I've tried two of the Dallas locations until reaching out to this one today. Thankfully this third one is quite convenient to my home! I have now successfully, and finally, gotten the attention and help I needed. I have now switched to this location (again with the help of the young man at the front desk) for all of my future appointments. Thank you MetroCare in Grand Prairie!

I received a reading with Calvin today - what an amazing treat for my Monday :)…read more Calvin didn't know much about me or my current situation but he was able to pick up on my current energetic state with ease. He is easy to talk to and straightforward - allowed me to ask questions and even gave me guidance on what I should do to handle some of my current spiritual challenges. Calvin's broad and deep knowledge is sprinkled throughout the reading - he helped me understand my true capabilities and how I can empower myself to be exactly who I was meant to be. I am grateful for him and his efforts in assisting the planet to awaken, as he is also allowing other intuitives to truly see themselves and walk in courage and power. Thank you so much!

On the business side, I was kinda in a stalemate and not clear where I wanted to take my company next. I didn't really feel as passionate anymore about what I was doing...and my revenue was showing it. He helped me get clear by putting practices in place to find my truth and held me accountable. After that process, he helped me get a "next steps" plan that was very good and actionable that I KNOW I could not have done on my own. He help me figure out business activities that were truly time wasters. I've used him work through negotiating situations with my company -- with better than expected financial results...(He's been VP of some big companies, so he's no joke and viewpoint is very strategic -- no matter the industry). On the spiritual side, he is well versed and well studied in many religions and spirituality. He's extremely intuitive. I've always been spiritual minded, but I realized I needed more 1-on-1 support to navigate more of my spiritual practice in my real life. I love his guided meditations and courses! He teaches a wide range of spiritual topics that challenged me to study and learn I TOTALLY ate it all up. I would say no matter your faith, he meets you where you are and brings you up! What I love the most is that he creates a safe space to dump all your thoughts on the table, sort through them together, identify which are truth or lies you tell yourself, and walk away with clarity and an action plan. I would say if you are considering hiring a life coach where confidentiality, realness, spirituality, and results matter -- get Calvin -- and that my HONEST, HONEST opinion.

Since my teens (a very long time ago) I've been in and out of therapy. I always loved having…read moresomeone to go to that would let me vent about my week, listen without judgement, and just be in my corner. Over the years...and years... I've probably seen around 15 different therapists. I've moved. They've moved. Many, I only saw a couple of times before realizing they just weren't a good fit for me. Then there was the one that had a creepy ass collection of porcelain dolls in her office. They stared at me. I never returned. So, let's just say I've been around the block a few times when it comes to therapists. K? I contacted Amy originally about couples counseling. My partner and I went in and after the first session I knew I found someone special. She was very different than anyone I had seen before... Now let me back up. Previously, my experience with therapists always left me with the feeling that they were simply my personal paid cheerleaders. Yay me!!! They would pet me (ummm.. metaphorically), smile and nod, make all my feelings about life feel validated, give me a sucker and send me off into the world freshly stroked. Rinse. Repeat the following week. I didn't hate that. Enter Amy G. She took my sucker, tossed it aside and put a mirror in front of me. Then she made me look. WTF??? Ugh!!! She's making me DO THINGS!?!? Yeah ok... that didn't literally happen but that's pretty much how I felt. Was it scary? Hell yes. Did it need to happen? Yes, it certainly did. I never knew how much I needed a good hard look at myself. She is authentic AF. Honest and forthright. She will dig deep. She will challenge you. She will find things buried that you don't even remember hiding. Then she will make you look at it. Hard. You will confront it and it will be a bit daunting... and then.. It won't. Before you know it she's rinsing off your sucker and giving it back to you with a smile... and sometimes a joke (Yes, she cleans you out emotionally then can still make you laugh. Black magic perhaps??). Now, off you go with a new personal "knowing" or understanding about yourself. Eventually figuring out together what to do with it. In summation, if you're simply looking for a belly rub and a tickle... Move along. If you're ready to do some work and make some changes.. See Amy. She's kinda awesome. ...and maybe magic...

I would give Holman Family Service a -5 stars if Yelp would allow it. Initially, my experience was…read moregreat. I was skeptical, but Shaheedra, my therapist, made all of the inhibitions diminish instantly. She was AMAZING! I wish I could say the same for management (specifically Aisha Holman). Although she is the business owner, she has exhibited some skeptical billing practices...to the point of being unethical and illegal. If you are a client, please keep a watchful eye on your billing. My therapist can attest, I paid my copay after each session to keep my balance at $0. My bank account was charged an unauthorized payment of almost $700. After inquiring with my insurance company, Aisha processed insurance claims and charged me full price after accepting my copays for several dates of service. She eventually responded on the portal stating I signed a form expressing I had insurance but wanted to be charged as a self-pay client. She also said I signed a consent form for the practice to charge my card without further authorization. How ridiculous does that sound? I signed no such form. Aisha refused to process the claim through my insurance and refund the payment. I have repeatedly requested a call, a copy of the signed form, and a refund. She does not respond. There were other fraudulent instances, but I can't go into details as this may be pending litigation. I have since reported this practice to the proper regulating board. If you are considering this business, I suggest you rethink it. I know other clients have been affected as I have spoken to at least one other. Please report any questionable activity. She has to stop taking advantage of clients seeking therapy!

One of the aides, Lasey, goes above and beyond. She doesn't leave until she knows you're okay and consistently checks on you. She has a calming presence and helps clients who are really struggling find peace and comfort. Can't say enough about Ms. Kara is the person who runs the show. She may sit at the front desk, but she will also become one of your biggest advocates. When she tells you she cares about you or says, "I got you," she truly means it. She wants you to succeed and move forward into a better life. I remember showing up one day, and she told me how pretty I looked and that she was proud of me. She was proud of me and then wrapped me in one of her giant Kara hugs. Even though I mentioned two people specifically, all of the staff are caring and supportive. They won't let you feel sorry for yourself, but they will help you recognize the direction you need to go and encourage you every step of the way. This place and its staff truly helped save me from my depression. Ms. Kara says this isn't your first home, but your second home, and that really reflects how they make you feel. They also offer TMS, and for me it has been a complete game changer. If you are considering getting help for yourself or a loved one, make the call and take that step.
