Good range of items and very tidily organized. What I found most impressive about the supermarket was the fact that it was incredibly well presented with the new renovations. It looked like a modern supermarket and had a great professional theme to it. The bakery had a nice sign and the signs above the aisles also looked incredibly pleasant to the eye. I guess it is really just the little things but the state of the trolleys was even impressive. I got one that was in no way defected and although I could tell it was not new, it was still very shiny.

What worries me is that they have spent a lot of money on upgrading the verandah area, and have also renovated upstairs - how can they service these extra people??? Growing up in the area the building has never been used to its full potential until now, previously having been a deli and empty for some time prior. The inside and deck area are at a super high standard reminding me of renovated pubs like the Hilton and Highway in style, clean and modern. Whilst the deck is closed it's dog friendly to our suprise! Now onto the food and drink... They weren't messing with us when it came to portion sizes with the large coffees being just that for once! Yes FINALLY! The burgers were fantastic and both under $15, though we were devastated we missed the breakfast deadline of 11.30. So glad my husband and I stumbled upon this absolute gem!!! We originally came in looking for a tasting of a few reds. We each did the red tasting, which consisted of a Pinot noir rose, Pinot noir dry red, cab Sauvignon and their flagship Shiraz. All of the wines were awesome! So awesome that we decided to join the jockey club to receive a case per year (yes....so good that we are having the case shipped across the world back to the USA!). The jockey club comes with tasting notes and recipes paired with each wine/vintage. Such a cool and fun way to experience the wine. After joining the club, we also each got a half glass of the shiraz (more like a full glass) and got to try a few other wines that we would be getting in our shipment. Loved the atmosphere of the cellar door and appreciate it is family run. The winemaker, his wife, and daughter were all in the cellar door talking to us as well as the locals grabbing a glass. What a wonderful spot and family-run business. Highly highly recommend stopping in here!!

It's an outdoor market and due to some new re-development next to the Hart Mill, there is a fantastic playground for the kids and a lovely seating area. The market starts at 9am to 1pm and with food stalls, I highly recommend coming for a delicious breakfast. They have pop-up cafe serving fairtrade Campos coffee, there are also many food stalls with the emphasis on local. From Bakerhus pies and sweet pastries, raw bliss balls and of course a stall from the famous Port Adelaidean cafe, Red Lime Shack, who sell delicious smoothies and vegetarian delights. Stick around and listen to the buskers, then wander around and pick up some organic fruit and vegetables, grab a freshly pressed organic apple juice, perhaps purchase some seedlings to grow your own herbs and vegetables. Then back to one of the other food stalls for an early lunch! You can take the girl out of Port Adelaide, but you can't take Port Adelaide out of the girl! I am proud of the area and proud of how its evolving. I love the alternative funky vibe and how passionate our local community and businesses are ensuring a bright future for the area and supporting locals. Unique organic options and fresh produce. It seems a new stall opens every week. The council have put a lot of money towards making this a unique and viable little spot with toilet facilities, a sparkly new playground and lots of free parking. Wild at Hart also had organised a small circus tent with a child friendly show playing the sunday I was there. It really is a gorgeous little part of Adelaide on the waterfront and I'm so glad that it's getting the attention and praise it deserves.

With my love of bagels, I did not have to second-guess what I wanted for brekkie. It is served with herbed cream cheese, smoked salmon, capers, watercress and pickled onions. Woo! However, after ordering it seems I had to get there earlier. They had run out of bagels! But, the staff where kind enough to offer a sourdough as a sub. Great! Fear not, I'm here to spill the goss on Adelaide's latest dessert spot (set to lose it's title very soon I'm sure as another dessert opening is always round the corner). The two chefs behind Astonish are Le Cordon Bleu (or LCB to us TAFE kiddies) graduates, originally working in kitchens in Sydney. It really feels like a lot of work and love has gone into this place, and the overall appearance of the store is gorgeous. But hey, as a few other dessert bars around town have shown, it's not all about atmosphere. If you want to have a great dessert bar, well in my books you need great desserts. Astonish try their hardest, and I'm pretty happy with the results. The menu features two sections. The simple things like cakes, tarts, & mousses, and then the more extravagant dine in menu. The smaller stuff is around the $7 mark, but the dine in menu is a little more expensive and will set you back about $12-$18. There are some very interesting (and delicious options), but I did find a few elements of the dishes didn't quite work. The panna fire was an interesting and delicious dish, with a bombe alaska and a slab of vanilla panna cotta. But as a combo they didn't quite work, and would have probably been better as their own stand out dishes. But the giant profiterole on the other hand was amazing, with a crumble on the outer shell that gave great mouth feel, and a filling of ice cream and caramelised banana. YUM. I think Astonish is stil finding their feet, but their desserts are well thought out, with enough pizazz to stay interesting but without going too crazy and alienating some diners. Is it worth the extra price tag? I think so, but I believe that there are a few dessert bars around Adelaide that are worth a lot more than what you already pay.
