If you haven't been to this hidden theatre, well buy yourself a ticket. I've been here about 5 times and every show is fabulous! Disaster. The Musical was really funny. Great seating. Beer, wine, water and soda available!

It is difficult not to adore this place. Where you have a passion for historic architectural design, rustic decor, theatre, entertainment or the arts, Woolfe Street is a must. With a vast lobby, large and small theatre way in the back, the space is overwhelming. I first encountered this venue at a Great Gatsby themed event. A memorable night indeed. This also leads to a little tidbit of information: You can rent out the venue. Last week alone, a rock band rented it out. Brilliant. Home to some of the most fun and even radical performance in Charleston, Woolfe Street has done Rock of Ages, Santaland Diaries and will be doing a high school production of Rent next month. I cannot say enough about the generosity and caring nature of Keely who operates the company and venue. Her pursuit of the arts in Charleston is remarkable. This is truly a must see. Soak in the design and decor. It is a fun place to see (even if there is not a performance at the moment).,

I love going to a play. Last night was my first time to go to the Woolfe Street Playhouse. We went to see the play - The Effect. The WSP is a very cool place. The location was very convenient and easy to find. Parking was right across the street. Tickets were about normal price for a play - $32.50 per person. The playhouse was nice and I really liked the way it looked with a very laid back atmosphere. Everyone was friendly. You can purchase beer or wine. It was very clean and nice and very casual for wearing jeans so I felt very comfortable. The play was okay. Not the best story line I have seen but the acting was fantastic. I enjoyed watching the actors do their lines. They were so good! They were the best part of the night - watching them. They were really that good. It was a great night all around. I look forward to going back. We had such a nice night out. Thank you so much!

“The place has a fun/quirky setup as an old western saloon and there didn't seem to be a bad seat there--very intimate theater.”

CHARLESTON MUSIC HALL - ONE OF THE BEST VENUES IN CHARLESTON!…read more We've been to the Charleston Music Hall quite a few times over the years, and somehow I've never gotten around to leaving them a review -- so it's definitely time! We were back again Saturday night to see The Fab Four Beatles tribute, and what an absolutely incredible show. It also reminded me just how much we love this venue. The Charleston Music Hall is such a great place to see a concert or show. It has that beautiful historic Charleston character, the atmosphere is fantastic, and one of the things I really love is that there honestly doesn't seem to be a bad seat in the house. The views are great from the main floor as well as the balcony, and the size of the venue makes everything feel much more intimate than going to a huge arena. We've attended several different events here over the years, and it's always been a great experience. They bring in an awesome variety of bands, tribute acts, comedians, shows and other entertainment, so it's definitely worth keeping an eye on their calendar. Another huge plus is the location. You're right in downtown Charleston and surrounded by some of the best restaurants, pubs and bars in the city, so it's incredibly easy to turn a show into an entire night out. Grab dinner beforehand, enjoy the show, then walk somewhere nearby afterward for a drink -- which is exactly what we love doing! Our night seeing The Fab Four was another perfect example. Fantastic seats, an incredible performance and a great atmosphere from beginning to end. If you live in Charleston or you're visiting and see something on the schedule that interests you, GO! This is one of those venues that really adds something special to the experience. Five stars and three thumbs up from us! Highly recommend the Charleston Music Hall -- one of our favorite places in Charleston to catch a show!
