We then got to watch and learn as Brett started the dinner. Members of our group helped as we moved from course to course. Once dinner was ready, we moved to the upstairs rooftop patio where we had a singer waiting for us. We had a wine pairing with each dish and Brett explained the wine and food each time. To start, we had a watermelon, tomato and feta salad with a nice vinaigrette. For our entrée, we had chateaubriand with mashed potatoes and asparagus. For dessert, we had a berry compote panna cotta. Everything was delicious. The beef was super tender, creamy mashed potatoes. Loved the panna cotta. Smooth and creamy. Definitely a wonderful night with great food and great company.

The fitness center has limited free weights, but has more Peletons and treadmills than the average center. It also has iced water bottles routinely refreshed. Also note that this is the only hotel I've been to where there isn't coffee in the rooms. There is a coffee station next to the elevators starting at 4:45 am, where you can also find fresh copies of WSJ and other papers. Would definitley come back for the food - shrimp and grits, different types of salad, veggie soup, interesting cookies and desserts. Great place to host a company event!

That means you'll have to be specific with your server on where you want to sit in order to get the best views and music (and if it's a nice day out, I anticipate that these few seats will fill up fast). If they had stellar drinks, it almost wouldn't matter because a nice rooftop is a nice rooftop with the right drinks. However, because their drinks aren't the best in that I find they lack complexity (e.g., balancing sugar with the harshness of hard liquor), it's not the most ideal place for everyone.

Also we spoke about having family friendly music on the front half of dancing and about 3 songs in an EXTREMELY inappropriate song that we did NOT request played and I had many offended guests. Some gift, eh? I expected it, but I did feel bad for the poor suckers who inevitably spent money today and will end up with buyers remorse tomorrow. They could improve it by being more up front with the fees associated with their product, i.e. maintenance fees, taxes, port charges, etc. Also, though I know it works, maybe don't promise things you can't deliver. It might get people in the door, but it pisses them off when you waste their time. Be up front. If your product is good, you shouldn't have to be shady or lie to be successful. Transparency from start to finish would have gotten them a minimum of 3 stars from me, even if I didn't like or couldn't afford the product.
