Not the friendliest service at times, but maybe nobody takes a 20-something knitter seriously. I probably wouldn't. But three storeys of pure knitting awesome makes up for any discrepancies, and prices are much more reasonable than other wool shops around town. You can find just about any type of knitting and weaving material here, as well as all the extras. It's a great place for knitting newbs, too. Wool Trends is under new management for over a year now. It's an absolute pleasure to go into this beautiful shop. All the product is on the main floor along with a couch and chairs for knit nights. Classes are taught upstairs with two rooms - one with tables and chairs and the other with comfy sofas and chairs. Its a wonderful setup and oh oh oh the beautiful yarns! Wool Trends is a knitter's paradise with all the luscious yarns from all over the world, three floors of it. I am a new knitter and I am so glad I found this wool shop because Hazel was so helpful, although she was really busy with customers, she sat me on a chair with my project that I was having some problems with and helped me, she kept comming back to me until I got it right. Wow that is great service!!! There was a even a fluffy cat named Benji to greet me at the door. I will definitely keep going back there for all my yarn. read more

I, basically, refuse to go back since they were not friendly or helpful to me at all. I'm a young knitter so maybe, like Candice W wrote in her review, they didn't think I was a serious knitter... but i spend a lot of $ of yarn and supplies and would've been a valuable customer. I travel a lot around Canada and try to go to LYS wherever possible and have been to Wool Trends a few times. I love the large selection of Fleece Artist yarns and other hand dyed stuff. However, on my most recent visit, I saw a hat that looked cute. I asked if they had a pattern for it. She printed out the pattern and when I went to pay, she charged me for the pattern! I understand that not all patterns are free, but if you are going to charge, it would have been nice to be told in advance. It's not the price; it's the principle. read more
