The car attendant didn't speak English, so it was difficult for us to understand him. When we politely asked him to repeat what he said, he became aggressive and said, verbatim, "I'm only going to say this 1 time". That is a very odd thing to say for someone who barely speaks English. Of course you're going to have to repeat yourself. Avoid this nasty car wash like the plague.

I brought in a pretty clean car on the inside. My son vaccumed it out 3 days earlier because he was having his road test. I wanted the inside polished up a little, Like clean the windows, and wipe down the dashboard. When I came in, the guy said to me that he would charge me $23 for a basic cleaning. I checked with him, inside and outside, he said yes. I said ok. Then he told me to go pay, they never took out my mats to vacuum. They just sent the car down the washing line. When the car came out, they wiped down the outside only. I asked them to do the inside, they told me it would be an additional $40. I took their rag, and cleaned the inside myself. I am so mad. The lady inside is in on this too. Different workers quoted different prices. It was surreal. DONT GO!!

So here is the thing: U wait too long and your car issue is not getting better ..the opposite is…read moretrue? Yeah, right. Like with my break pads?...oh boy! Had a hard time deciding where to get it done. My usual place, pepboyz, where no good. Didn't had the parts, didnt look to confident to fix a BMW..So I yelped my issue. Metropolitan and a few other places quoted me for a price. Actually I didn't choose him at first because others had more reviews. But after some due diligence on their reviews, talking with some on the phone or reviewing their web presence...these mechanics didn't look any more confident to me either. So I gave Vinty at Metropolitan a shot. At least the reviews he had were positive and his self bio read itself nice and assuring. I text with him back and forth about the costs. I had specific parts I wanted to be used on the car. He got it all figured out and quoted me for a really fair price. I said to my self what the hek, I gotta get it done. Can't put it off any longer. So I got an appointment with him super fast, no fuss. Showed up first thing in the morning. Mechanic puts my car on the lift and starts working wheel by wheel. I had a good feeling. Little shop, no funny attitudes. Vinty comes in a little latter, we talk, great conversation about everything and nothing. Real nice. His mechanic walks in, we have a problem..I'm like: oh boy here we go. We walk to the car. Shows me the front rotor on the wheel. Bad. Needs to be replaced. Worn down break pad ruined the rotor. Guess why.. yeap u guessed right: because I waited too long and drove on bad break pads even though my car kept prompting me to change them ASAP. So of course the promised cost now all of a sudden got much higher..not the mechanics fault. Not Vinty's fault but mine. I was there when he negotiated the replacement parts with his supplier. Yes a place like this needs to have profit from its doing..yes they always try to get the max doable...buy this place, Metropolitan, Vinty was really fair. The added on labor, parts, plus what was already done..all in all it hurt me too spent that much..more than original thought, but that only was because I waited too long to attend the original issue. Let this be a lesson to you. Don't wait around too long. Go see Vinty. Fair and honest in my opinion. What needs to get done needs to get done. The price is always fair. But if ur car reveals more than anticipated..its not the mechanics fault. And with these guys here..they don't take advantage of you should when an opportunity presents itself to up-sell, like at those fancy city garages that shark you out of any penny you've got left (been there, had that). Again, what needs to get done needs to get done. Don't wait on it. At least here you can rest assured. In all honesty, I'm happy I gave this shop a shot. - Sid

He was curious, clear and so far, has been honest. I am GM for a Mike's Air Conditioning Which uses the same for service vehicles for Air Vent Medics, our other company. To say the least we need these trucks in running order all the time. Our previous mechanic was unreliable. After resolving issues expediently, professionally, and at a fair price our 2nd truck is with Metropolitan. He's not only diagnosed & resolved issues on 2nd truck. He's obtaining certain parts used that are unnecessary to be new which was logical in that case. I agreed & will get this needed, revenue-worthy vehicle ASAP; I'm confident in him. I plan to update Yelp members & others to final jobs on all 4 vehicles. I have much much automotive experience myself & so far Vinty has been more than reasonable, intelligent & quite a decent mgr of this repair shop.

I know nothing about cars & seldom need to use a mechanic / repair shop, so I was looking for a…read moreplace close to Bed Stuy to take my 2007 Lexus that wasn't starting. Plenty of places in Brooklyn have lots of bad reviews, so I went with Malibu due to their lack of abundantly bad reviews. Diagnosed as a rat-chewed wiring harness. Estimated at $390 to fix, which is exactly what I paid. Bit skeptical around how much work/time was actually involved (e.g., I'm a dude who knows nothing about cars & it could have just been a loose ECM wiring plug or a single chewed wire), but at the end of the day, my car is now running perfectly & I didn't have to spend $1k+, so I don't really care how much time actually went into it. Full wiring harness replacements can be thousands of dollars. Also got a tire patched and swapped out for $20, which is cheaper than what a tire repair shop would have charged. Great communication & updates... called in the AM for drop off via tow truck & they promptly kept me updated on progress throughout the day and notified me immediately when my car was ready. Also worth noting (which is pretty reasonable) -- they charge a daily car storage fee once work is done after 24 hours. My dream of not having to deal with street sweeping for a week was unfortunately shattered pretty quickly because they were so quick. Another reason I went with Malibu is because they have a spacious workspace that can hold a lot of cars -- lots of other repair shops have 1-2 lifts in what's effectively a residential sized two car garage. Malibu has a massively sized car warehouse that can hold multiple cars being worked on, and has space for other cars around still. Entire staff is eastern euro (not sure the specific flavor), but they were friendly. I picked my car up right at closing, and got blasted with cig smoke in the garage, which felt appropriate for a car shop closing up for the day. 5/5, would come back!
