We walk up to the gandalas and ask where Green acres is and they say "green acres is closed, the only mountain open was the super tall main one for experienced ppl only. Our card wouldn't even get us a ride on the gandalas and back down. So I went back inside to ask the girl that gave us our snowboard gear if this was the case that the basic slopes were closed? And she replied "yeah unfortunately that is true" I then ask "okay so what are we supposed to do then?" She looks at me and slowly shrugs her shoulders and tells me "idk" ..............................what exactly do you mean you don't know what I'm supposed to do?..... It was then that Miguel at the other counter interjects and says "I can help you with a refund if you don't take the gear up" (he wasn't there originally when the two girls at the counter helped us get our snowboard gear) My thing is yeah obviously I'm getting a refund if I'm not even able to do what the ticket was purchased for? Like DUH you're giving me a refund! That's what the girl at the counter with the bandaid on her chin should've offered in the first place...a solution...a refund. Also these tickets were purchased almost 2 months ago, why allow the ticket purchases if those specific slopes are going to be closed? Let alone no email communications stating as such, no signs up saying anything. Not only that you have to scan your pass to get your boots, they scan it again to get the snowboard and helmet. If you knew the slopes that my ticket was for was closed at the time of you scanning to give me my gear, why wouldn't you say anything? Mind you I flew here from out of town. I think that's so rude and I will never be back here. I hate when ppl in customer service are incompetent and ignorant. We went around to the front and dealt with Julia, she was nice and offered a refund no problem. She then added a trip for us to ride the gandala up.

The reason I give 3 stars is that this school has very kind instructors who helped me when my fiancé was teaching me. It was not a one-off experience because my friend, who was in the ski lessons with me, was also told to just learn by watching others. If we are paying $150, our instructor should be more hands-on. I saw he was being monitored after my complaint, but he still treated the students the same.

I was in Breck for a work trip and had the option to choose one of several activities, and I picked…read morethe snowcat ride because I had never been on one before and wanted to try something new. Our group ran a little late and I ended up being the only person who showed up, and the staff could not have been more patient or accommodating about it. I was fortunate enough to get what essentially felt like a private ride, which made the whole experience feel very personal. They give you a walkie talkie so they can share updates and explain what you're looking at along the way, which I really appreciated because it made the ride feel intentional and educational rather than just scenic transportation. The snowcat itself is super comfortable and cozy. There are seat belts, thick blankets in the seating area, and the heat kicks on so you are warm the whole time. The cabin has large glass panels on all sides, so you can see the forest, the mountains, and the groomed trails without being exposed to the cold. The ride is very gentle and smooth, and they move at a reasonable pace while being thoughtful about cross country skiers on the trail, stopping when needed to let people pass. I found myself completely mesmerized watching the grooming attachment in front reshape the snow and lay down those perfectly clean parallel ski tracks. We stopped at a historic cabin that had been relocated and rebuilt years ago, and it was cozy inside with a guest book and bits of history to read. I ended up wanting to get back into the snowcat fairly quickly because it was so warm and comfortable in there, and the views from inside were amazing. It was quiet, beautiful, and surprisingly peaceful, and I came away with some great photos on my film camera and a super memorable first snowcat experience.

There was one instructor and one volunteer with my son during every lesson. He had about 5 lessons this past season with 3 different instructors and they were all amazing. My son loves music and everyone of them either had music playing the whole time or would sing as they went down the hill. I was just a kid from the Midwest with zero expectations or context, completely out of my element at that altitude, trying to figure out Western skiing and getting spectacularly sunburned in the process. Everyone was cool and welcoming, and my family came away with incredible memories. At the time, I had no idea how special that combination of a huge mountain and a real, lived-in mountain town actually was. Decades later, with a lot more skiing and life experience behind me, I've come to appreciate how organic Breckenridge feels. The historic town, its easygoing energy, and the way it sits naturally alongside the mountain give it a character that can't simply be manufactured. I may have passed through Breckenridge since that first trip, but I haven't returned for a proper stay, and I'd love to come back with my own family someday. It will always be the place where a kid from the Midwest first discovered how much he loved the mountains.

The guys were willing to bring boots and other pieces of equipment from one store to the other in under 30 minutes to get me and my wife the equipment we wanted. Management is at the Copper Mountain Plaza. There is spa & sauna. Recreational Center is a short walk. But everything at Coppermountain is really close walking distance. The bedroom sports two king sized beds with fresh elegant comforters and a ridiculous number of shams and decorative pillows. The box fans were nice as the unit got stuffy during the day (though I wish Copper Mountain hadn't felt the need to move large objects with forklifts and bobcats after 9 p.m. BOTH nights). The unit faces the highway, not the mountain, but we weren't bothered by any traffic noise and my toddler enjoyed watching people riding paddle boats on the lake.
