I'm currently staying here in transition until my daughter and I move into our apartment. When I initially arrived, I liked the hotel due to the location and appearance of cleanliness. That quickly changed when I made it through the lobby.
The elevator smells like pure dog pee on a daily basis. Im not sure why the rug is in the elevator because all it does is hold dog pee and hair and there's no actual ventilation in the elevator so it smells like hot ammonia.
I've changed rooms twice since I've been here.
428: 1st room they gave me smelled like pure feet. Old dirty laundry.
Switched to 304: had roaches crawling in the sink and stove. Changed at night right before closing
New room: still seeing baby roaches although I was told there's not a problem throughout the building, the unfortunate part is that I actually have to be here right now. It sucks because I have a child and I wish people just cared about doing their jobs for the sake of humanity. Or quit the job ??? That's an option as well.
However let's fast forward to yesterday which has left a terrible taste in my mouth & has me about to share this entire establishment with my tik tok following....
ive been here & like most of the guests we renew our stay on a daily basis vs a weekly or monthly basis. It works best for my specific situation, I do not want to pay for more days than I need. Generally when you do this, the rate that you payed on your first nights stay is honored throughout your stay. It doesn't fluctuate.
When I went downstairs yesterday morning to pay, I was charged $118 which was the Valentine's Day rate. However, others I know and speak to informed me that when they did the same thing, extend for an extra night...they were only charged the initial rate that they had been paying everyday. Which is around $72 for all of us with a single room. (At least the people I've spoken to)
I was offered a credit because I called out unethical practice. I believe that if you're going to adjust the price for Valentine's Day, you should have human decency to honor the pricing for guest already within your hotel. People already paying on a daily basis. For Gods sake, it's a weekend of love. If you're gonna dress the part with cute red heart earrings, you should treat people with the same love you're trying to portray. But you want to upcharge everyone for what ?? Why am I paying more for a hotel with roaches just because it's valentines day lol ??? It's diabolical to me truly.
I want to make it clear that I did not leave the premises and try to book a new room. I just woke up and went downstairs to extend my current stay before check out (11am)
Last but not least, Joy. Oh Joy....
I really love that name because generally the people who were given it, exude joy.
Since I've encountered her, I can attest to every other review about her demeanor and her attitude. I'm not sure what happened to her or what this job does to her, but she GENUINELY HATES WORKING HERE & everyone she speaks to.
I am the most pleasant person and I treat everyone with respect, even when I brought the issue about ethics to them, I was extremely respectful.
Everyone else seems to be pretty customer service oriented. But JOY, I would give a zero for customer care/ service / hospitality.
I'll be back with an update on every platform I own when I check out. read more
