Definitely not one of the better hotels I've ever stayed in (I travel about 2-3x a month for work and am used to staying at 4-star average hotels). This hotel is definitely below the quality of what I'm used to but does have some perks. Pros: Giant spacious lobby Lots of dining: Morton's steakhouse, SHOR seafood, Tavern and a 24/7 market all on the premises Great location Good views of the riverfront (depends on room) Beds are very very comfortable Cons: Inconsistent customer service. I got some amazing customer service from some of the maintenance workers and one of the desk clerks, but some of the front desk people can be rude and unhelpful. Definitely a mixed bag. The rooms are very dated. The first room I checked into had a broken shower and broken ac. The hotel was accommodating in upgrading me but this was after I was hung up on during a bunch of unnecessary phone transferring and a rude conversation with the front desk attendee. Ac is only so so. One room I was in originally it didn't work at all and the next room it worked but didn't get very cold and I couldn't feel the air moving. Overall I was happy to be close to the stadium for the gator bowl but in general I would likely seek alternative accommodation before staying here again. read more

Stayed here for one. Ight to see a show. A block from the airport bus which is convenient bc I didn't want to rent a car for a day. Walkable area on the river and near some restaurants. I love how they have a 24 hour spot inside with snacks and food. Staff was friendly. Checking was quick and deposit was only $50 compared to most places. Things were like I remembered Romeo's and lobbywise. Clean, quiet and smells good I didn't get a chance to enjoy the pool area but I like how the elevator floors need your key to access. Nice place to stay for business or leisure. Morton's steak house next door and I saw a ferry outside my window. Great river view. read more

The Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront was a very nice hotel to stay in. Right when you walk in, it is a very beautiful hotel with a beautiful location right on the river. It is very nice that there are three options for places to dine in and a 24/7 market. The only reason I am not giving this hotel a 5 star is because you do not receive a lot for the price. You do not receive a complimentary breakfast, but have to pay extra for that, and I feel as though there could be room updates. The TV is definitely older and things in the room seemed to be damaged. I do not normally care about these issues, however, it is an expensive hotel, so I feel as though it does not meet expectations set by the price. read more

We dined at the restaurant downstairs, I had the Ceasar Salad and we spilt some onion rings. Both were pretty tasty! I also liked that it was another dining option open late night. This is a beautiful hotel to visit if you're in DT Jax! Their lounge/restaurant is full service and a great spot to grab a drink at the bar. There's plenty of seating and the entire lobby area is tastefully done with high-end feel when you step inside. Parking for the hotel is very convenient and located right across the street. It was $30 for parking when I came to meet up with girlfriends here, but definitely worth it to me knowing that I could park close and then safely walk back to my car at night by myself. read more

I have stayed at just about every hotel downtown JAX and this, by far, has been the best one! We stayed here for the Jags vs Panthers game and I was so impressed by everything the hotel did -- flags for each team were represented at the check-in area, a Bloody Mary bar in the lobby, etc. The beds are extremely comfortable, there is a 24 hour market in the lobby, the rooms & bathrooms are up to date (something most hotels in the area seriously lack), the staff is very friendly, the food in the Tavern (bar/restaurant in the lobby area) is amazing -- so good that we actually ate here twice in one day! We had a king room w/ river view and it was beautiful!This hotel is definitely my new go-to! You will not be disappointed! read more

We were at this Hyatt for a conference in February. This is our second time at this Hyatt, and it's a very pretty hotel, but I still found that I had some issues with it as a conference center: - Their meeting WiFi is super slow. This isn't conducive to working at all. - Their meeting rooms don't have enough outlets. - the temperature fluctuates super widely between meeting rooms - during one of our first meetings, we were locked out of our room, and the staff spent 15 minutes trying to get it open. Meanwhile, we walked into the room next door (which was being used for another meeting in our same conference) and used the adjoining door to get it open from the inside. I lowkey feel like the staff should have known that was an option - we always do one catered lunch and their catered food was not good. I also have some beef with it overall as a hotel - the parking garage hotel access level has stairs and doesn't have an accessible, so you have to take an elevator to the ground floor and walk on street level if you don't want to carry your bag or can't do stairs. - the room wifi is also abysmal - Guest services/check-in service is super slow. At one point I wanted 15 minutes for someone to even show up at guest services - the bathroom shower temp was super unreliable. One day it wouldn't heat up, the next day it was cook-a-lobster hot - the temperature in my room seemed to have no direct correlation with the thermostat I can't say that this will ever be my first choice, but I think there's a lot this place can do to be a better conference center. read more

I had to leave the event early due to food poisoning from the catered dinner. Not only did i get sick, but I was embarrassed for having to leave a corporate event in such a way. Overall this was a very nice hotel. I stayed here while in town on business this week. I have Explorist status with Hyatt, since I status-matched from MGM at one point when they were doing that, so they upgraded me to a 2 queens room with a fantastic river view, and also gave me access to the 17th floor Regency Club lounge, although I didn't use it (just stopped by once). Pros: -Very comfortable beds. I would have preferred a room with a king bed, even though it was just me, but when I have two beds I use the other one for bags and storage. -Easy check-in -They have a # you can text if you need anything - I tried texting yesterday and didn't get a response, so I called the front desk, and they were able to accommodate all my needs (housekeeping that day, PLUS I asked for makeup remover towelettes) -If you have status with Hyatt they offer you a checkout time up to 2pm. I only needed until noon but I asked for 1230pm just in case. -Catering food was overall very good, although they did serve chicken tenders a few meals in a row, in addition to other entrees. Cons: -When I took a bath, and then drained it, the sink made weird gurgling sounds, which freaked me out for a second. -Long hallways - my room was down one hallway from an elevator and then down another hallway. -No individual toiletries - the large bottles in the shower, bolted to the wall (makes it difficult to take a bath). Pro: they did have body wash - I feel like a lot of hotels aren't doing that anymore. -Wifi was really slow. That being said, I would definitely stay here again. I was in and out of about 10 to 20 guestrooms here because those are where the conference meetings took place, and I would say definitely spring for a river view if you can - the rooms that didn't have it mostly had a view of the roof or venting systems. There were also some rooms that had couches if you want a slightly bigger room, guessing it was a suite or mini suite. read more

I would go to this property again on my own! I was here for a business trip this time. The riverfront walkway was under construction, but still a worthy trail. The food was very good, the service of the team was very good. The little café has grab and go hot and cold breakfast and sandwiches. And those items were pretty affordable. This Hyatt location is a great place to stay if you're conducting business or pleasure in downtown Jacksonville. Located next to the Saint John's River, this Hyatt also houses two restaurants, a Morton's Steakhouse, and a 24/7 Market/ Starbucks for your convenience. It's location also allows for easy exploration in the downtown area for entertainment and cuisine. Any late night cravings for the above can be instantly filled by walking a few blocks from the hotel. The 19th floor houses a fitness room,  pool and great views of the river and nearby skyscrapers. My husband booked this hotel in downtown Jacksonville so we could walk to Vystar Arena to see a show. It is a beautiful hotel in a great location along the water. The lobby is very big, modern and beautiful. Check-in was quick and easy. We were fortunate to get a room on the 19th floor with a great view of the water. The hotel has a pool and a fitness center also on the 19th floor. The lobby contains two restaurants, as well as a casual market selling Starbucks coffee and other quick items. There is also a nice gift shop open 24 hours a day. The rooms are very nice and modern. This is our second stay here since moving to the area, and I am sure it will not be our last. read more

Great View, But Small Annoyances The river view at the Hyatt Regency Riverfront is absolutely beautiful -- definitely worth it if you can get a room facing the water. That said, a few small issues took away from the overall experience. The trash cans in the room were practically unusable because the liners weren't opened up properly -- you'd try to toss something and it just wouldn't go in. Little thing, but annoying. Also, the business center charges $0.50 per page to print -- and it's credit card only. Not a huge deal, but when you're in a rush and just need to quickly print something, it becomes a hassle. After having paid almost $1000 for a high floor King Suite over a Friday and Saturday night, to find that the so called suite was no better than a Holiday Inn quality was really disappointing. Old tired furniture, super musty smell as AC was not working properly, terrible bathroom with a toilet so low it only would work for hobbies. Zero amenities, not even complimentary water. And to top it off Valet parking at @$50 per day and when we checked out surprise surprise they had actually charged double that. The Hyatt group should be ashamed at charging those kind of 5 star hotel rprices for a 2 star at best product.​ read more

My wife and I booked this hotel for a little staycation after our wedding. Our first 3-night stay was on the 18th floor with a city view. The hallways were hot and muggy, but luckily the AC in the room worked fine. The room itself was just okay, but at least Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives with Guy Fieri was on TV, so that slightly made up for it. We came back the next weekend for one more night on the 9th floor with a river view. That floor wasn't as stuffy, but the room had a strong mildew smell. Again though, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives with Guy Fieri was on, which made it slightly better. The highlight of our stay was Debra, one of the housekeepers. She was so kind and welcoming, and even surprised us with champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, and goodies for our kids. Between her thoughtfulness and hanging out watching Guy Fieri, our second stay ended up being way more memorable than expected. read more

Very clean hotel with plenty of amenities. In the middle of the downtown area with not much around- if you're looking to see Jacksonville, expect to need a car because the city is so spread out. In walking distance to the stadium and science museum, but not much else. Parking is expensive- $40 a day, but there's other garages near by that are empty and cheaper. read more

Nice stay! We were in town for an event and used our Hyatt rewards points. They gave us a really nice suit and we were comfortable. Favs: Rooftop pool! Great space, good hours and not crowded! I attended a conference here, and the hotel actually exceeded my expectations. Most of the staff was friendly enough. My room was clean and updated sufficiently, everything operated as it should, and the bed was very comfortable. I was easily able to control the temperature in the room, and I had no serious issues with noise. I had a decent view of the downtown area next to the hotel. I was able to request daily housekeeping, which I greatly appreciated. The elevators are quite fast and efficient, and they have a number of them. I really liked that the Market (where you can grab sandwiches, Starbucks coffee, and snacks) is open 24 hours. So many hotels don't do that. I ordered food and beverages there throughout my stay, and they were all good, and there are places to sit and use your laptop. A little more seating might be nice, but it's not bad. I also ate at Tavern, the bar-type restaurant on site, and the food I had was delicious. Before that, I had the breakfast bar at SHOR, the primary table-service restaurant on site, and it was good, too, though I would not have considered it worth it without my conference discount. The breakfast items were all good, and all the standards were there, but for the price, I would have expected a bit more of a selection. Overall, no complaints, though. One small ding: I arrived late at night, and it was a bit confusing figuring out how to get into the hotel building after self-parking. I found the parking garage easily enough, but there's no obvious signage telling you how to enter the hotel. I went to the nearest entrance on the ground floor, but it wasn't the main entrance, so you needed a key card to enter after hours. There was no sign directing you to the main entrance. Another guest let me in, and it turns out, I was literally around the corner from the front desk. Some better signage would help a lot. Later, I discovered there is a breezeway from the second floor of the parking garage that takes you to the second level of the hotel, just above the front desk. Still, you would need a key card after hours, so again, some better signage would be helpful. That said, it was a minor issue, and should I be able to obtain a rate comparable to the conference rate I had here, I would certainly consider staying here again if this is the part of town I needed to be in. read more

My wife and I stayed at this hotel in Jacksonville, FL for the first time this week. Overall, we had a good experience at this hotel this week. The hotel was very good, it had good service, convenient amenities, two restaurants and a Market, and nice room. The lighting needed to be better, brighter in our room, and things like q-tips, comb, etc., should be provided. Customers should not have to pay extra $3/bottle for water. The area around the hotel is quite run down with many storefronts empty, not cared for, dirty, many street people, and relatively few restaurants or things to do. I did not feel safe walking around the hotel for a walk after dark. read more

Facilities are great, staff is so friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately I was allergic to something in the hotel- I sneezed, was congested and had irritated eyes during my whole stay. I was fine when I was outside of the hotel but this really put a damper on my stay for a week. I don't usually have allergy problems so I'm not sure what was an irritant. It's a great location, tons of restaurants within walking distance (ocean st tacos and intuition brewery were awesome!) river walk is lovely and how cool to have a battleship right outside the hotel! I even saw dolphins in the river. The views are expansive from the workout facility on the top floor. I was disappointed the hot tub was empty and not working- it was chilly the week I stayed and it would have been nice to have a soak at the end of a long day. Their restaurant has great food and attentive and kind waitstaff. The peanut butter balls dessert and the shrimp and grits were to die for! This is also only 30 minutes from beaches. read more

Stayed here for 4 days for a work conference so I was able to use most of the available dining and services. Positives - quiet as long as you're not near the elevator, my room had a sliding door and view of both the water and downtown (although my coworker had a view of a concrete roof), fridge in room, good water pressure, decently clean. Mortons steakhouse on first floor, but teeny tiny bar that was completely full my whole trip. Negatives- heat didn't work, coworker found bugs in her room, only feather pillows, no extra blanket and it was pretty cold, the Starbucks is not a real Starbucks and nothing tastes right, self-parking costs every time you leave. Banquet/catering services- Mediocre. Eating most of my meals catered by this hotel was a mistake. While the food didn't taste horrible, the quality was easily elementary lunch grade. Stayed here while attending a convention. Parking is expensive! Valet and self parking fees in the garage. Check-in was smooth. Beautiful lobby. Elevators were slow but multiple organizations were hosting programs this weekend so it was busy. Room was cute and cozy. I love the bathroom lighting. Cons included dirty walls, cracks in the bathroom wall above baseboards and curtains were a bit outdated and raggedy. In room coffee was TERRIBLE, super bitter. Beware of the $3 bottled water. On site restaurants were convenient (see my individual restaurant reviews for quality). Convention rooms were nice but adequate seating was either not communicated with the hotel or not available for the number of attendees. Overall very pleasant stay with efficient and friendly house keeping and front desk staff. read more

We always stay here when we come to town for a football. It's located blocks from TIAA bank stadium, roughly 25 minute walk. It's also located near restaurants and bars where you can go if you don't want to dine at the hotel bar of restaurant. Loved that their bar and restaurant was open after the late football game. Stayed here for 3 nights for the Gator Bowl. Overall, I enjoyed the experience. Check-in was simple, lobby and meeting spaces were attractive. parking convenient, room was comfortable. I slept well each night Our group especially appreciated going up to the pool and pool deck on the 19th floor to enjoy the beautiful sunsets and comfortable evenings. Looks like the hot tub has been down for at least 3 months. All of the staff I encountered was friendly and knowledgeable. There were places within a few blocks to eat and drink so the location is good, though it seems like Riverside is the more active area and it is a 15 min drive. I'd stay at this hotel again should I return to Jacksonville. read more

We attended a conference at the Hyatt. For most of the stay, I didn't have any issues. The check in process was good and the front desk receptionist was very friendly. The staff, from the maintenance men to the housekeepers were also very friendly and seemed to all have smiles on their faces. As the days progressed, it was almost a flip of the switch... the staff wasn't as friendly as they were before and on my last day/night at the hotel, no one cleaned our room. After calling twice to the front desk, it took about bother hour for someone to take out the trash and give us new towels. Other than that hiccup, it was a decent stay. It does have beautiful views as well and a nice park nearby. read more

With our Pastor's conference taking place at the hotel, I booked early and actually got a better rate as a Hyatt Globalists then the conference rate. As I state my thoughts you have to take in to account that I had my Hyatt Concierge Katina set the stay up for me and I was well taken care of. When I arrived they did not have my room ready so I checked my bags, instead of texting me they came to me in the lobby area with my keys and thanked me for being a globalist. Being upgraded to a suite, I had a living room, work and dining area, and a large bedroom and bathroom. Everything was clean and very up to date. I was given free breakfast for two and every morning I had the privilege of inviting a colleague for breakfast on me. I see that some of the older reviews talk about the rooms being old but I did not have that experience. Have I stayed in nicer Hyatt Regency's? Oh yeah, but this was a very comfortable setting with a good layout for conference rooms and places to mingle outside of our rooms. The staff was amazing and even went out of the way when an Uber Eats driver delivering dry groceries, left my bag on the counter and didn't tell anyone. They went out of their way to figure out where it was and found it in a corner. They should have given up because it took a while but the concierge was adamant that they would find it for me. Although I hesitate rate the stay higher than a 4 due to a bad breakfast, I am giving a rating of 5 to balance the lopsided reviews given by disgruntled yelpers. read more

Great location, amazing views if you're on riverside, and excellent bar and restaurant. Disappointing the heated pool wasn't heated and hot tub had no water. Unfloridian weather here these few days but I would have gone in hot tub or heated pool. Room was clean and spacious. Lots of great local spots around if you're a beer enthusiast (I am!) or want some local flair. If you like outstanding food and don't mind dive bar atmosphere check out Spliffs a few blocks away. First off, let me proudly state I am a HYATT GIRL 4 LYFE!! (hopefully) Clean and amazing value for the money, Never smells like stinky nasty hotel unlike some places around the same value. Every single Hyatt i have visited never leaves a bad taste in my mouth and i truly always feel comfortable and safe, as well as proud to stay i am staying at the Hyatt! For this location, i have visited a couple times for work and i absolutely see myself racking up higher status staying here even more for the 2024 work year... that being said, the only reason why they are still going to get my business but only getting 4 stars is BEACUSE... the staff is so inexperienced.. "we dont know" "im not sure" gosh! that's not really want you'd want your host to say.. a little background is that the ALLLL elevators were BROKEN!! Absolutely NO ONE knew what to do or where the stairs are?? what if there was a fire?? that is unacceptable in my opinion. If i had kids or something up in the rooms and i was forced to stay down there because of this, i would be LIVID!! Luckily, what i needed from my room, i managed to go without and left and had to leave, but wow, i waited for at least 30 min.. and they told us "the Maintenace guy is coming" and to top it off.. they wouldn't tell us where the stairs were. im like WHAT??? unbelievable. Hoping that is a one-offer, but hope they can clean up their messes and communicated better with their staff to not escalate any minor issues. I have stayed here twice for work. The first time, no issues. This last time, I was there from 11/11 - 11/15/25. I checked out in person on the 15th at 9am, flew into Chicago, arriving at noon. Realized as we were landing that I left 4 items hanging in the closet. Called immediately and spoke with Security. I was told they would check my room and call me back. I provided my husbands number as well as mine since I still had a flight to get home to Seattle. Not a word. I called again on Monday morning, no response after being transferred to Housekeeping. I then responded to an emailed survey and got a response from Monty Edwards apologizing for the delay and that my inquiry would be expedited. NOTHING. I called again (the phone system is horrible by the way), I was transferred to housekeeping which rang and rang and rang. No answer. No way to leave a message. I've been told my closet was empty. This means my items were STOLEN by housekeeping. Period. I gave a full description of each item that I accidentally left behind. One still had the tags on it. It is now December 1 and I have never heard a word from Hyatt. Do not trust this hotel. Skip housekeeping and make your own bed. I will be filing a formal complaint even though it was just under $300 worth of items, those were MY items. Not Housekeepings!!! read more
