The Hard Workers Construction Corp. has worked on our home for the last two years. The owner,…read moreOctavio, was instrumental in offering us solutions to several issues that we presented to him. He dealt with any/all permitting issues. Always a quality job, and a very honest contractor. We would not hesitate to contact him for any future projects. Here is a list of the various projects that were performed: - Installed insulation in both the attic and basement. - Reroofed our garage - dealing with all permitting. - Installed utility door on garage along with an awning for it. - Built new basement door for our California basement - Repaired garage door to include new bottom seal. - Installed new gutters/downspouts on garage.

Octavio Rivas, owner of The Hard Workers Construction Corp., worked on my home for years and I…read morewould not think of calling anyone else. Octavio is a rare contractor who truly looks at each job in detail and offers the best solutions to the customer. He wants the customer to be totally happy and satisfied with the work. He does not take shortcuts or use inferior materials, his approach is always for a well-done quality job. I had a big problem with a residential flat roof at the very end of its life. I was required to comply with CA Title 24 roofing requirements for energy efficiency standards. Octavio totally understood CA Title 24 and the problems with my flat roof. He worked with the City Building and Safety Department to get permits to change the roof pitch and new overhang around the house. He installed all new beams, insulation, and fascia boards. He installed all new windows and doors on my home. There was a lot of termite damage requiring all new wood to be installed and walls replaced before I had a restucco job on the home. He painted almost every room and is an excellent painter. He replaced almost all of the molding in my home and it is perfect. He replaced all of my rusted outside vents with stainless steel vents. They look great and I do not have to worry about them rusting. We had a lot of rain during construction and Octavio always covered my roof with tarps that kept rain outside and not in my home. He often worked into the night doing this and did not think twice about it. He knew it needed to be done and he was on it. Octavio is a contractor that will always spend as much time talking through questions and concerns as is necessary so you know exactly what will happen, how it will look, and what it will cost. He has very fair pricing for the quality work he provides. I will always call Octavio first for any home-related issues. You will not find a more fair, reasonable, or honest contractor. He is just a really good guy and does great work.

My Response to the Owner's Reply: Setting the Record Straight…read more I am writing to correct the inaccurate facts provided in the business owner's response. The True Timeline & Scope of Work: During our initial consultation, we were upfront with your former salesperson, Sean. Before signing anything, we showed him the ongoing electrical, irrigation, drainage, and dry-well work being done by another crew. We explicitly stated that the turf installation could not begin until that extensive project was fully completed--which we estimated would take many months, stretching into late 2025. Sean agreed to this, stating he just needed to put a temporary date (May 2025) on the contract to process it. We emphasized that this was not an actual start date. Sean understood and agreed. The Communication Breakdown: The owner claims the company tried to contact me. This is false. No one from this company ever called to schedule an installation. The only phone call occurred when I reached out in May to provide an update, as instructed by Sean. Later, our project faced delays because our sole contractor suffered an accident. Once construction finally finished, unforeseen circumstances forced the sale of the home due to the co-owner's decision. The Deposit Dispute: On January 14th, I called the owner, Ron, to explain the situation. Because we never scheduled an official installation date, this company never mobilized crews, ordered materials, or wasted resources. The only time spent was the initial "free" consultation. Given these unique circumstances, I asked Ron for a good-faith partial refund of $500 (half of my $1,000 deposit), allowing them to keep the rest for Sean's time. Ron promised to check with Sean and call me back within 5 days. He never did. When I called Sean directly on January 19th, he informed me he no longer worked for the company but promised to flag the issue with Ron. After another week of complete radio silence, I posted my review. Misleading Advertising: Prospective customers should also be aware of their marketing practices. I have screenshots of their Instagram ads claiming a "state program discount" for the first five sign-ups. This same ad template is used by multiple different companies across social media. The quoted price was identical to competitors who did not claim to offer any state discounts. Conclusion: If a company reserves a specific date for a client and loses other business, keeping a deposit makes sense. However, keeping a full deposit when no start date was ever set, no materials were ordered, and the sales representative agreed to an indefinite hold is simply operating in bad faith. I am sharing this so other consumers are aware of how this business handles communication and contract flexibility.

Joseph and his team completely transformed my backyard. The previous homeowner had planted a…read moremassive tree that left the yard looking messy and damaged, but Joseph removed the old concrete and installed beautiful pavers that look so much better than any concrete option other contractors quoted me. Not only did he offer a better design, but his price for pavers was actually lower than the concrete estimates I received. They started the very next day after we signed the contract, and even though a few unexpected issues came up during the project, Joseph handled everything smoothly and professionally. About 95% of the work is done now, and he's even installing garden lighting himself for free after the cleanup. The center lawn area is still in progress, but I'm already extremely happy with the results. I'm planning to work with Joseph again on my next project. Highly recommend him.

Like most people, I had been putting off the replacement of my roof for the last 5 years. Sick and…read moretired of patching small leaks and knowing that I wanted solar panels installed in the new year, I decided it was time to look for a roofer. I did the typical google searches but found that most of the time, I was getting those that pay to pop up with their phone number from large roofing companies. With every one of those that I requested a quote, I got a computer automated response and quote most often delayed and with spam, and with little to no talking to anyone. Prices were all over the place as well as the descriptions of materials and service to be performed. I decided to search in a local Lakewood Facebook group where I found many suggestions and saw Harrold's name repeated often. I called Harrold one morning where he picked up the phone and had a friendly initial conversation. He told me he lived in my community and was literally around the corner. He provided addresses as referrals and within 2 hours, I had an estimate that was detailed and among the most competitive in pricing. I called Harold back to discuss the materials in detail which were all top of the line. He gave me the best and shortest window of availability and promised to have it complete in 3-4 days. We hired Harrold and had an excellent experience with Harold and his very hard working team. The were efficient, they were fast, did a great job and clean up all of the mess left behind! It felt good to give business to a local business instead of those larger roofing companies. Harold was professional, super friendly, prompt, communicated well, and did an incredible job with our complete tear and replace roof project. We even hired him to replace our facia and improve our porch. We love the new look of our home as it just looks like we remodeled everything but all we did was replace our roof. We get lots of compliments and I will continue to recommended Harrold. He is just as genuine and likable as they come!

When the tile fell, it cracked the tiles below it. I got a variety of roofers to inspect the damage and assess the price. TMT construction was the first to respond and was able to repair the damage the next day for a very affordable price. After they did the repair, they had also discussed other issues with our roof which our roofer who we had hired to inspect the roof 1 year ago (as we just purchased this house in 2019) had missed. There was rotting fascia board and issues with water collection in our valley. We were able to have those items corrected and seamless rain gutters installed shortly after. We also had another project we had been meaning to finish, putting up plywood in the garage rafters and converting it to an attic. A week later, we had that bucket list also completed. The staff was courteous and did a good job with their work. I highly recommend TMT Construction.

Eugene was very friendly and easy to work with throughout the project. What really stood out to me was how careful he was about protecting and keeping the carpet clean. My son picked a very vibrant green paint color, which unfortunately ended up needing 3 coats, but Eugene stayed committed to making sure the final result looked right. I really appreciated that he stayed late to get it done properly instead of rushing through it. He did arrive late and brought his dog with him, which may not be for everyone, but overall I appreciated his work ethic, attention to detail, and dedication to making sure the job turned out well. Highly recommend if you want to work with a friendly and affordable painter with great results!
