I recently needed to remove a very large maple tree that had suffered some damage during a storm…read more It was a concern to us that future storms could cause further damage to both the tree and surrounding property. Paulo's came to determine the status of the tree and what options were available. We agreed that the risk of further damage was great and that its falling down was inevitable. I was given a very reasonable quote for the tree removal and was able to schedule the work within a few weeks. Paulo's crew arrived as scheduled with up to date equipment and protective coverings for the lawn. The work was done skillfully and with great attention to avoiding any damage to landscaping and property. They worked continuously and cleaned up without virtually any debris or sawdust. The entire crew were extremely professional and polite. It was an entirely satisfying experience.

The trees were LARGE, DEAD and in difficult to access areas with risk of damage to our home and a custom-built, small barn. Two other well known tree companies came to quote and were clearly not interested in this job. Paul did not hesitate and gave a very reasonable price compared to the others. We were in no particular rush to have these trees removed and due to two major, damaging storms in our area, we understood the priority of others in a much worse situation. Yolanda was a joy to deal with and kept my me updated every few weeks regarding what they were dealing with and where we stood on the list. The trees were removed yesterday and the crew was highly skilled, hard-working, polite and left my yard like they had never been here. Absolutely incredible work! The result was an open, neater landscape with a lot more sunshine and space for the long unused vegetable garden. He arrived when he said he would to review the work. As we walked around the property he listened to what I wanted, made very good suggestions for things I had not considered and gave me a feeling of confidence that he knew the subject matter. He and his team arrived precisely on time the day of the removal. They trimmed, cut and wood chipped all the trees in a very orderly fashion which made me feel the job was always under control. When they were finished Paul and I briefly walked around to review the results. Excellent work! Hardly a leaf or twig left on the ground and a new, beautiful, bigger backyard! Originally gave me a quote, and provided me with his "insurance", but never called me back and hasn't returned my phone calls. I believe the insurance he provided was for lawn care, and wasn't designed to cover tree removal; and when I asked about this he stopped returning my calls. In our last conversation he implied he would have the insurance confirm it was for tree removal after the weekend on the first business day, but as it turns out, now he's ghosting me. Made me waste a week thinking I found a company to do the work I required. I could have spent that time looking for a company that could do the work. Basically multiple reviews for his former business echo this sentiment. This is why he renamed his business from Hillcrest to Hill.
