What an amazing contractor. I'm blown away. Brian came over to the house several times to assist us…read morein the design since we were, admittedly, all over the map. His experience and know-how contributed to the success. He's a really good designer so if you hire him, don't be afraid to tap this skill. On the installation day, his guys arrived on time and ready to work. I was expecting a full week and they got it all done in about 2.5 days. They cleaned up at the end of each day and we never lost the use of the staircase which was a total bonus given: kids, dogs etc... Just a great experience and well within our budget. I can't say enough good things about Brian and his crew. True Craftsmen and very nice guys. If you need stairs or a refresh, he's your guy!

We are in need of a full redo of our stairs. Previous stairs the steps had carpet while the rails…read moreand handles were previously sanded and painted from original. We got bids from at least 3 licensed companies. Let me list out all of the reasons why we ended up choosing Brian and Semper. First and foremost, you actually deal directly with the owner of the company which is Brian himself. He does not just oversee your project, but he's the one working alongside the trenches with his crew. His professionalism and friendliness throughout the process made our project experience equally as important aside from the final masterpiece. You have to experience for yourself that he puts every attention, detail and true care to his work as if it were his own house! For instance, he proactively ran by us that he would like to add extra balusters and raise up our hallway handrails for safety. His crew are super clean after each hard day's work and always willing to communicate and accommodate during the project. Semper came in right at the middle with regard to pricing. It sounds cliche' that there's a saying "you get what you pay for." I'll also add to that quote, "if you're lucky." You will definitely get both and more with Brian! Just have patience when it comes to the initial pricing quotes or having Brian actually take a look at your project. Do not let his lack in initial communication in getting a quote as a sign that he's not interested in your project. As a reminder he's actually the one working alongside his crew so his time is limited during the day and is typically busy working during the day. He doesn't send someone else to do his bids. He's the one from initial quotes to the construction of your project. I would say that if you're in need of a full redo or gutting of your stairs go with Semper. You will get what you paid for if not more. We cannot stop marveling at our stairs since it's one of the main features as you open your front door for guest or just overrall an everyday high traffic area that my family often notice daily. Again, thank you Brian to you and your crew for the level of detail, professionalism, and hard work that you have provided my family and I. Wishing you continued success.

I paid promptly and scheduled a time to have him come to our home and do the install. He came over and finished the job in about 3 days, we had a decent sized staircase. While there were a few things we should have discussed and gotten in writing, but for the price and responsiveness it wouldn't be fair to still not give him 5 stars. We all know they don't make things like they used to. But when it was clear that my father in law's…read more68 year old roof was ready to step down from service, I did what any reasonable person looking into a new roof would do. I reached out to 37 contractors at once. I know, I know. But hear me out. I did this with the mindset that all these people had to do was follow some simple instructions. They all got the same form letter which explained our circumstances, budget concerns, communication and availability preferences. I figured as long as everyone simply had basic reading comprehension, common sense, and common courtesy, I'd be able to quickly amass a wide selection of estimates, and go from there. Folks, let me tell ya...I was descended upon like white on rice. Ants to sugar. Bears to honey. Me to a fridge brownie at 3am during a diet. And so fourth. The form letter asked prospective contractors to email me directly. Most responded through yelp. That ruled them out immediately. I'm sorry, but when all I ask is to do the simple thing...and you start off by ignoring the simple thing.... The form latter specified I prefer to communicate via email rather than over the phone. Half immediately asked for my phone number urging for a call that very same day to "lock in a quote", and all the usual high pressure crap. They were removed from the pool too. Yes, just like that. If you find that unreasonable, I don't know what to tell you. People have preferences for a reason. And when they really aren't asking much of you in the first place, it stands to reason it's wise to abide by them in order to show someone you aren't dismissive of their needs. The form letter made mention that while we reside in location A, the home in need of work was in location B, which happens to be a 130 mile round trip. Needless to say, I wasn't going to meet up in person with 37 contractors. Or 27 contractors. Or 17, or even 7 if I could help with. Because *I* don't need to be there. I'm not a roofer, nor am I going up on the roof. Anything I need to know can be said or shown via email or text. It's 2026. My generation is terrified of phone calls. When it actually rings we throw it across the room and hide under the covers until it stops. Come on now. When the dust settled, only two companies remained. One of them was MGMP. I won't mention the name of the second contractor, and I don't want to specify the exact deciding factor between the two, because I don't want everyone reading this review to assume that our circumstances are applicable to them. I will just say that the non-MGMP finalist said that we needed to do something which would have put us severely over budget and put a halt to our effort altogether, while MGMP felt otherwise, and provided us with an option which was feasible enough to allow us to move forward, with the understanding that there *may* be additional expenses depending on what all is found after removing the roof altogether, but we could proceed from there. This was perfectly reasonable. I will admit, at first that felt like a red flag. But after speaking with Johnathan, I decided to trust him, because I have an overly sensitive BS meter and it was sound asleep, which is rare amidst these sort of circumstances. Once the roof was off, the only additional expense beyond our initial quote was $700 to cover some additional materials. I was expecting *much* worse, and was relieved beyond measure. Fortunately for me, MGMP has integrity, and is true to their word. Johnathan sent a series of comprehensive photos and videos showing absolutely all the trouble spots of concern, which he didn't even have to do. I never asked, but he did it anyway, just to be transparent. The whole process had them swoop in early 02/26/26 and they finished mid-day by 02/28/26. And this was not a rush job. Johnathan works with a small army who worked two FULL days (sunrise to sunset) and then some, as well as the time it took to wrap it all up on day three. He sent photos the day it was done, and the work looked immaculate. My father in law isn't doing so hot, and he's well into his golden years. As his time on this giant floating rock winds down, his only major wish and preference is to simply stay in his own home for as long as possible. His home needs a lot of love, and when it was clear we needed to look into a new roof for him asap, we honestly didn't think we'd be able to make it happen. Thanks to MGMP Construction, not only does he now have a new roof, allowing him to stay put doing internet genealogy and playing Peggle on his desktop to his hearts content, but he can stay *home*, where he feels safe. That means everything to him, and just as much to us. So to the team at MGMP Construction and to Johnathan in particular, thank you. You haven't just given someone a new roof, but peace of mind and a reminder that there are still plenty of good people out there, with businesses you can actually trust.
