The first…read moretime a couple of years ago when I had a tree that was growing too close to the house and I couldn't get it down with out damaging either my property or the neighbors. He and his crew came in and did a fantastic job removing the tree and cleaning up afterward. Then just this last weekend amidst all the straight line winds and micro bursts that plagued Rockford last weekend I had a very large pine tree blow down on my garage. I called late on a Saturday leaving a message not expecting to hear from anyone until Monday. Tony called me back Saturday night to touch base. He came out on Sunday and gave me an estimate the same day. We had to wait to move a dumpster out of my driveway so his equipment could get in to do the job. As soon as it was moved he was there the next day with his crew. He gave me an estimate and went over what I wanted and what the estimate covered. He told me what additional he could do and how much extra it would cost if I wanted it. (IE Stump grinding vs bare minimal tree removal) They were fast. They were professional. They cleaned up after themselves. They did good work. I can't say enough good things about them. If you are need tree work done, whether it's removing a standing tree or one that fell; Soppa's tree service is the service to use.

All in that short of time!!! They where like a well oiled machine as a crew. Everyone knew what they had to do and did it well. I'm beyond impressed. Since today was chemo day for my husband I was so glad that everything went smoothly. Thank you so much. 6 stars!! I do not live in Woodstock, I need to change that...this is done in Rockford.

The world needs more companies like Nelson Tree Service. I say this for several reasons…read more Nelson Tree Service worked with my finances, understood that I'm not made of money, they got the trees down, and I will rest a lot easier now that I know my kids are safer sleeping in their beds at night. This one tree was a monster, maybe 80' tall, and 2.5' diameter at the base. They didn't have to do this for me knowing I couldn't pay in full or even pay much at all. They did it, because they knew it needed to be done. They did it, because they didn't want them to fall on my house or my kids. There aren't too many companies like this out there. Cherish them when you find them. Another company for example told me it would cost almost 3x as much, that they needed specialized equipment, and that they wanted me to take sections of my fence down too... Nelson's? They showed up, climbed up, used ropes, and saws... No damage to anything.

They did an amazing job and truly are "tree pros." There was no damage my house, patio, or other structures even though the trees were very close to several structures. They cleaned up as they worked and left my yard in good condition. I had asked to keep the wood so they cut it into manageable pieces and stacked it for me. They also got me in contact and arranged for all my stumps and roots to be ground down. They were prompt with their communication and offered fair pricing that was actually less than other companies had quoted. Highly recommended this company for any difficult tree removal jobs.

They removed and hauled away all of the debris, leaving everything incredibly clean and ready for us to start fresh. What really impressed us was how thorough they were. Some of those required cutting and digging out the stumps completely by hand -- they didn't take any shortcuts! The entire area looks completely transformed. Their attention to detail, hard work, and willingness to go the extra mile really stood out. JP Landscaping was professional, hardworking, thorough, and clearly takes pride in their work. I called to have them come over and give me an estimate to repair my roof and gutter. It took them…read morea while to get to me before they came over. I signed a contract with them to get it completed by a certain date. They never kept in contact as to what day they were actually going to come over and do the roof. They showed up and did the roof part of it, but not the gutter part. I didn't hear from him for over a week a week and already past the contract deadline completion date. I also asked him for a quote to do the entire fascia around the house. I never got one. By this time i just wanted him to complete the project. He finally got ahold of me and explained that he had family issues and that's why it wasn't complete. As a costumer, I don't want to hear about your family issues. You're the owner of the company and have a project manager that works for you. If you don't trust the project manager, why have one. Have him earn his money and reach out to costumers if you can't. I was told serval times that they would be out today to finish the job. They never showed until 2 weeks after the deadline. He stated that we just got the materials to finish the job. Again, not my problem. Communication and customer service should be the first thing that needs to be done if you want the customer to recommend your company to other people looking for any roof repairs. Sorry that I have to write a review about this. The owner is a nice guy, but young. Get your project manager more involved in the company and have him reach out to costumers if things are going to be late or problems arise. If you're looking for a company to not call, communicate, or go over the contract deadline. Then use them. I'll go someplace else.
