This is a mixed review on Precision Landscaping in Eleroy, IL. We used their lawn mowing services…read morefor several years (and they were good), but this year seem to be a real struggle for them. They mowed two properties for us, and one was for an 82-year old man with his wife being in a nursing home. Our primary concern was to ensure he got mowed so that he could handle his wife. In mid-June, his crew showed up, and he had mowed the week before (he was on every other week). We were there when they showed up as we were on our way to the nursing home to meet with hospice. We reminded the driver that this account was every other week. The driver got angry, slammed his door, and left to mow our lawn. Shortly thereafter, we got a text from the Owner Mark Diddens that he would not mow for the elderly man and for us. Yes, no good deed goes unpunished. We were shocked by the behavior and asked that he give us time to find someone else. Needless to say, that was challenging mid-season. Our elderly friend was extremely upset and had a meltdown. The staff at the nursing home did everything they could to get us a lawn mowing service. Even relatives of patients joined in. Thank you to everyone who helped us out. Please know how grateful we are to you. And, please know how extremely disappointed we were in Mark and the team at Precision Landscaping. This behavior is unacceptable, and please understand that when customers SIGN a "Statement of Work" for a defined time-frame (i.e., the ENTIRE season), they expect you to honor that commitment. Both of us SIGNED the document, paid you regularly (even when bills didn't arrive), and respected the relationship that we once had.

I hired Steve Lesch of Landscape Designs, Inc. to design a landscaping plan for my past two homes…read moreand both times, I was satisfied with the outcome. As a semi-serious gardener, I wanted to avoid the cookie-cutter landscape plans so prevalent in my neighborhood. I was looking to add less common herbaceous perennials and woody ornamentals and Steve was able to deliver that for me in spades. The planning meetings were a two way street - my wife and I had had a clear vision for what we wanted in our gardens which Steve incorporated into his plans. Full disclosure: At times, he can be a bit on the stubborn side, kinda like the landscape design equivalent of the Soup Nazi, but in the end, we got a plan with great color, texture and bio-diversity. I also appreciate that Steve is active participant in many of the Madison-area garden clubs and a frequent speaker that the WPT Garden Expo each February. If you are looking for a unique garden design, I would recommend Landscape Designs without hesitation.
