I am 81-year-old man and am confined to a wheelchair for mobility. I was scheduled for my first appointment here at The Woodburn Vision Source. We did not know where this office was located, and so we called for directions as we driving into town. The problem was the directions they gave us were for coming from the opposite direction that we were coming from. It took a few minutes to figure out the error and then loop around after we discovered that the directions were bad. We arrived a few minutes late and was told that the appointment had to be rescheduled to another time. I then asked the receptionist to ask the Dr. if I can still be seen today. The receptionist left to check with the Dr. She came back in a while saying the Dr. said we were too late. So, I was rescheduled to a couple of more weeks out. I'm having a concern that as a new patient, I may be subjecting myself to brash treatment, disrespect and unaccommodating or considering my circumstances. What will they treat me like in any follow up appointments? Customer Service is very important to me. When I was still working not that long ago; selling my art at festivals I had great pride in giving my customers the utmost respect, working together with and for them to achieve the most satisfaction for both them and me. read more

Listen, no one likes the dr's office, not even the eye dr's. But Woodburn Vision Source better than most. Everyone is SUPER friendly and I've found appointments very easy to make. The office is very clean and there is a nice size waiting area with lots of windows :) They do a great job of walking you through all the exams along the way, they will call ahead and figure out for you what your insurance will and wont cover and will tell you along the way (you can either choose to get your eyes dilated, which is covered by insurance, or via a picture, which my insurance did not and she quickly let me know it was about $30 out of pocket if I wanted to go that route). They have a really good selection of glasses for men, women, and even a pretty cool section for little kids. They usually have a discount it seems for a second pair of glasses too, so, maybe sunglasses would be nice!?!? When trying on glasses the staff are willing to help you decide and are really patient... I mean, incredibly patient... cause i took FOR-E-VER deciding what I wanted (even changed my mind once or twice). I've always gotten my glasses in a fairly timely manner (they are willing to put a rush on them if you are in a pinch) and lenses were correct every time. Dr Nehiring has been my eye doctor for.. well... a lot longer than I'd like to admit (20+). He's very kind, talks at a level where most patients would be comfortable and understand and handles questions very well. As a bonus, this office also has Spanish and Russian staff who can help if English is not your primary language. read more

After moving here from Chicago I not only was surprised to find I had been over paying all these previous years but the staff was not just professional but very socially engaging. I felt that I was at one of my best friends home socializing ( especially during these COVID times). I can't wait to go back to pick up my new glasses. I come in once per year at the most, Dr. Nehring never fails to remember me, to ask how I've been, and ask about my family (who has been seeing him as long as I have). On top of that, he has an excellent professional manner, and explains my eye health to me in terms that are simple to understand. Beware. I have been a customer for many years but yesterday was my last day of business with Woodburn Vision Source. In July I stopped in for a quote on new glasses and was given a written quote. When I went in yesterday I was told the quote was incorrect and they apologize. That's it. Didn't even offer to honor the quote or split the difference in the price. Very unprofessional. I spoke to 3 other optical options last evening and they all said that they would have honored the pricing. I guess it is OK for them to lose a customer for $65. Anyone can make a mistake it is how you handle it after that matters. Own up to an error to be too afraid to admit it. Also do not talk about a customer when they can hear your conversation. Just a very disappointing experience. I will go elsewhere. read more

I saw Dr Nehring,they were booked up to Feb. but the person who sets the appointments said " I can place you on our cancellations list so you can get in if we have a cancellation", and I got in this week! (Dec 22) Not only did I get the best; most thorough eye exam I have ever received, but the price and care by Dr. Nehring and his assistants was beyond great.
