They really have some nice ones. I went back a couple of weeks later to look for them and buy some, but they weren't at the market that weekend. Of course I had no idea what they were called and searched all over the internet. I finally found a list of vendors and figured out who they were! A quick drive to Northville, I had no idea what to expect from The Barn. What a pleasant surprise! We purchased a nice set of Corn Hole boards and they were so kind as to help us carry them out to the car (side note they did not come with the bags). We did take a walk around the barn to check out the amazing collection of stuff, a mix of new artisan items and antiques and refrained from buying a whole bunch of stuff that I did not need. Its a fun destination and its the kind of place that you might stumble on that treasured item you may or may not have been looking for.

Located in Kerrytown across the street from Detroit Street Filling Station, this woman-owned business is stocked full of so many unique and thoughtfully curated and sourced items. They always have gorgeous window displays, the employees are always so happy to see you and the service is wonderful, and this shop is just so dreamy! Things are definitely on the pricey side here, but everything is really high quality and they feature a ton of local artisans in the area as well. There's nothing I love more than an intentional shop and you can truly feel how intentional Thistle & Bess is in every detail their store contains. Unfortunately I was not greeted when I came in nor when I was browsing, which I feel is such a small thing that can really make a difference when shopping. The person at the counter was with another customer, but even just a quick, "hi, welcome in!" can be so nice. That said, I would come back in the future just to check out what they have in stock.

For the holidays they had some really love displays featuring bottle brush trees, locally made ornaments (which looked like they were perhaps from Pewabic and Motawi Tile, though I may be wrong), other bits of Christmas decor as well as unique gifts like craft sets, textiles, some stationary/cards, etc. They also carry some really lovely baby gifts, some kitchen-y things, candles, glassware, home decor, bath and body care, seasonal goodies, houseplants and planters, and more. I loved browsing everything they carried and in the end I walked out with a few purchases, including one of the beautiful Christmas trees and a beautiful embroidery kit of peonies and other flowers as a gift for my aunt.
