This is a fun little shop that I enjoy stopping in to look around. There are so many delightful country style items for those that love the Americana or Farmhouse style. There are candles, soaps, waxes, cards, bags, old school candy, toys, pillows, furniture and more. In the nicer weather, there is outdoor shopping as well with plants and gardening things. The Dixboro General store is a must stop by to browse place that I plan to frequent more often and bring my family/friends, too!

You gotta love this local gem on the northeast side of town. Driving up to the Dixboro General Store harkens you back to days gone by when general stores like Dixboro's were the "Amazons" of the day. This store is located in a classic turn-of-the-century country house on Plymouth Road and specializes in Home Decor, Furniture and Gifts. Today, we picked up a special order hand-made sign and did a bit of fun browsing. Take a step back in time with a visit to this unique Washtenaw County gem...5 stars.

Cute little housewares and furniture shop in "downtown Dixboro" (I put quotations around that because if you've been there you know that it's basically a few buildings/strips that make this up). It's housed in an old farm house and it's filled with furnishings that would go best in that style of architecture. They've got cute couches and chairs, dressers and tables as far furniture goes. Plus wooden signs proclaiming "I'd rather be at the lake," candles and glassware, throw pillows, mugs, wreaths, cute knicknacks and more fill the decor category. There's also some snacks, dip mixes they make in house, candy, and toys for the kiddos as well. The staff here was very friendly and it was lovely just wandering around taking it all in. Haven't been here around the holidays but it's now on my to-do list to come here at Halloween and Christmas because I imagine they'll have some really fantastic stuff on hand to decorate with.

The outside of the store has that old-timey feel.

So excited to find this store. We drove 45min to get here, and it was well worth it…read more The Detroit area has two kinds of furniture stores IMHO, those with cheap junk furniture and sales every weekend (you know the ones), and those that have quality furniture but obscenely exorbitant prices. Nothing in the middle! This store has quality, at what I would call reasonable prices for such quality. The showroom is beautiful with a great selection and comprehensive illustrative materials for reference. Sanjay and Sean know their suppliers, and are excited about the pieces they represent. The pride in their stock is obvious. And, they are very helpful with tips regarding additional brands they have access to. We came in for a bedroom suite recently, and were dealt with fairly and honestly. Delivery does indeed take a long time, but I've heard similar quotes while shopping at other stores during this crazy covid time. Many of their suppliers are amish and make the furniture on spec, so it makes sense. We can afford to wait, so no biggie. It's all probably going to mean we visit there again soon for our living room, too. If I remember, I'll update once we get delivery.

Stay away!!…read more We recently moved and our dining room table that we purchased in 2023 is still under the five-year warranty. I just talked to somebody in customer service who told me that they cannot service it because they did not move it to my new hone. I asked her what I should have done and her response was to call Arhaus and ask how to move the table. That is the dumbest response I have ever heard! So according to her thinking I need to call each individual furniture company to find out how to move each piece of furniture in my home. She did however give me the name of the company that Arhaus refers to for issues after the item was moved by someone else. Also, the manager of the store where we purchased the table told me to call customer service and there wouldn't be any problem since it's still under warranty. I'm not blaming the manager at this store. They need to train their staff properly too.

No matter the time of year I love visiting Downtown Home & Garden. My previous review stated, "I love any store where I can get tulip bulbs, a new bird house, a winter hat shaped like a Christmas tree, a new cookie sheet and a loaf of Zingerman's bread" and all that still rings true. But these days I also add national parks merch, gear for my dogs, holiday decor, kitchen gadgets and cookbooks and, perhaps most exciting for a Polish broad like myself, a variety of Polish pottery pieces. In the spring and summer months I can be found perusing peony bulbs for my garden, hummingbird feeders, bird seed and squirrel proof bird feeders, planters, plants/starters for my veggie garden, pest control and fertilizers, plus a variety of lawn decor and sculpture pieces, etc. Some things can be kind of pricey but you truly get what you pay for. Even after years out in the elements everything I've bought for my yard here is still in amazing condition, my plants from here always yield the most delicious fruits and veggies, and the little birdies are so happy with the snacks we provide them from their bins.

Like the Wixom location this store is HUGE and the sheer volume of what they offer is mind boggling. Seasonal decor, kitchenware, serving ware, organizing bins, storage, faux plants....SO MUCH! There are several aisles, like a dedicated section of the store, just for wall decor/art. And there's a huge rug section organized by the primary color scheme. AND LAMPS!! So many lamps!! An aisle of curtain rods! I could go on. But basically anything you could want that would be for your home you can find here. I love coming here in the summer to find garden decor like lawn stakes, planters, and decor like solar lawn gnomes and the like. They also have a great selection of umbrellas and cushions for outdoor furniture. And if you need the furniture frames, they have that too. From sectional couches to single seats, lounge chairs and more. Prices are pretty good, too. It's not the most high end stuff but things I've bought for my yard are going into year 3 now and have held up pretty darn well during the various swings of Michigan weather. All that said, there's just something about this location that doesn't feel as polished as the other ones I've been do. It's always empty, not just of employees on the floor but also shoppers. I often feel like I'm the only one there. Some of the stock is a bit lighter than other stores, (though it still dwarfs other big box stores when it comes to home goods), etc. But overall, it's still my go to when I need containers to organize my pantry, need a new throw rug, or just want to refresh the decor in the house.

When the…read moreitems arrived, the bed was delivered without the hardware so it was unable to be installed (to note delivery and installation was an extra fee from 3 Chairs). After waiting almost a week for the hardware to arrive (which was supposedly "expedited"), my husband had to go to the hardware store himself and find parts that would work and install it. I asked for some sort of refund since I paid for delivery and installation and was told that this was not possible. The Lee sofa slip cover arrived with what appeared to be a stain on it. I notified them immediately and was told to "take it to the cleaners and I would get the cleaning fee reimbursed". After, wasting time doing all this, I found out that this was a textile imperfection and could not be fixed. I again reached out to the store, and was told to "bring it in and that they would send it back and I eventually would receive a replacement", instead of trying to fix the problem and just sending me a new one immediately once notified of this issue. Then, to place the cherry on the top, the custom Lee accent chair that I also purchased came with the wrong fill, which I paid extra for. At least, Lee was able to send me the correct one (after almost a month after receiving all the furniture). After many discussions, I asked for some sort of reimbursement for the defective slip cover for the couch, installation and hardware I had to purchase and completed myself, as well as the time wasted going back and forth to the cleaners to find out it was a textile error and the only way this was to be replaced was if I took it to the store and waited weeks for a new one. NOTHING was offered from 3 Chairs or Lee (as per 3 Chairs since I cannot speak to Lee directly), leaving a very nasty taste in my mouth, especially after spending more than $12,000 on furniture at Three Chairs, which I though was a high end, reputable store. I will never buy anything from there again.
