I've eaten at many different pizza restaurants in New York City from famous places like Grimaldi's in Brooklyn and Luigi's Pizza (also in Brooklyn) to smaller mom and pop places and I can tell you that New York to Go in Bismarck is the real deal. The cheese, freshly made tomato sauce and crust are perfection! They use a NY water filtration system which helps give the dough and crust its authentic texture. The owner and staff are very friendly and accommodating, when I arrived they didn't have any new slices out but they very readily offered to make a new pepperoni pizza just so I could have two fresh slices, outstanding. My pepperoni slices were absolutely delicious not to mention big, foldable and very filling as they should be. Will definitely be going back again and am looking forward to trying some of their other entrees such as their calzones and gyros.

Not a large dine-in area, but there are around 8-10 bar stools and two bar tables by the windows for some people to sit inside and eat. They also serve slices, which is nice if you want to try new toppings or just need a quick meal.

I ordered the large Taco Pizza, and a small BBQ chicken pizza to go. They have a pretty good selection of beers on tap so definitely grab one while you wait for your pizza. I didn't wait very long at all for my order probably no more than 20 minutes. The staff was very friendly and the established was dated but very clean. They also have a daily special by the slice or pizza. When I got home I opened up the BBQ chicken first, little spicy but really good flavor, it would be nice to see some cilantro on it for flavor. Taco pizza was probably the best I have had in a long time. Taco pizza was always a childhood favorite of mine so was happy to find a place who serves it m. My only complaint is that I wish the crust would have been cooked a little longer, was a little to underdone for my liking. Overall very satisfied and will most likely return.

Problem when it arrived was cold and missing all extra ingredients. Called and manager was as helpful as their ingredients. Nothing there Large pizza was $45.00. Tombstone is a better pizza.

Laughing Sun -- I guess the joke's on me…read more Went to celebrate Father's Day 2025 at Laughing Sun for some BBQ and a beer. I've been looking for good BBQ in Bismarck, and Laughing Sun has been recommended to me quite a bit. The place itself is really cool -- I love the big, open blues venue atmosphere. Axe throwing is a fun touch, and I appreciate that it's sectioned off so it doesn't distract if you're not into it. The line to order moved quickly, and ordering was smooth with friendly service. I got the 3-meat BBQ plate with brisket, pulled pork, and ribs. For sides, I chose mac and cheese, beans, and kettle chips. My wife ordered a half order of the BBQ nachos and a root beer. I had the Space Probe Blue, a sour -- which I really enjoyed. The ribs were great: served slightly above room temp, tender, and well-seasoned. I'm not a fan of competition-style ribs where you're expected to leave a bite mark, and thankfully these were more tender than that. Not quite "fall-off-the-bone," but a really nice middle ground. The pulled pork was solid -- moist, well-seasoned, and with noticeable smoke flavor. The brisket looked promising with a nice bark and smoke ring. But that's where the positives ended. It was the driest brisket I've ever had -- barely edible. Truly terrible. It looked old, and I'd be shocked if it hadn't been sliced the day before. I was genuinely disappointed. Brisket and burnt ends are my jam, and I just couldn't vibe with it. The "award-winning" mac and cheese was served at room temp and was mid at best. The beans were also served room temp and are supposed to include brisket -- fortunately, mine did not. I'd give the beans a 5/10. The kettle chips, though, were excellent -- crispy, well-seasoned, and easily the best side of the bunch. The BBQ nachos didn't go over well with my wife. Her main issues: the pulled pork was wet and spongy, the pico de gallo was overly watery and made everything soggy, and the use of melted cheese instead of nacho cheese didn't work. In summary: If you're after a great local beer and a fun atmosphere, this could be your spot. But if you're looking for killer BBQ executed with care, maybe do what I'm going to do -- and keep looking.
