Three weeks ago my master bedroom shower began to leak and upon inspection found I needed a new cartridge. The manufacturer was Grohe which I was told by my contractor, John, HOW GREAT Grohe was especially since there parts were easy to get if you ever had a problem. BULL SHI*, nothing could be further from the truth. Without getting into the details was able to FINALLY FIND someone who had the Grohe cartridge based off of the INVOICE AND THE ACTUAL INSTRUCTION MANUAL that I kept for 3.5 years JUST IN CASE I HAD A PROBLEM. So I get the EXACT, SPECIFIC CARTRIDGE the exact ONE that's in the manual and guess what, when a plumber goes to install it it's not the correct cartridge. The contractor, who had his staff input the shower valve well they installed a different catridge altogether, though not sure how. Anyway, the cartridge PART that was listed in the MANUAL was not the correct cartridge. Furthermore, why is the cartridge broke after 3.5 years and all the plumbers I talked with lamblasted Grohe as being bothersome, not worth the hassle , bad service and difficult to get parts. Be careful with this company as you're told one thing BUT be careful as the parts you think you're getting installed and are listed on the invoice and the instructions manual may not actually be the parts installed. He's tiled my lathe kitchen floor, put wood flooring in my large…read moreliving room and hall, done floor tiling and walk in shower in one small bathroom, and tiling (floor and tub area) in another. His work is impeccable. He holds himself and his workers to a very high standard, and you'll be hard pressed to find the value for your dollars spent anywhere else. Ive recommended him to several friends over the years, and no one has been disappointed. In fact, they've used Ziggy more than once. After all the years I've worked with him, I recently asked him why he hasn't grown his team larger and expanded his business more (he has PLENTY of business but having more workers would expand his business even larger) He told me it's because he likes to oversee every project himself personally and if the business got too large, he may not be able to expend himself to the oversight that he insists on. If Ziggy is working at one house, and sends a couple of his guys to yours to do a smaller job, trust me, he will be popping in on a regular basis to make sure things are done correctly, and perfectly. This man will provide you with QUALITY work and takes pride in providing you with a beautiful job. He never takes advantage of anyone on cost. Ziggy is a fair man. Ziggy has strong opinions on the best material to be used for the project due to his experience. I have strong opinions on my aesthetic outcome. So if we disagree (and we have) he will of course acquiesce to the homeowner with a reluctant shrug and the knowledge that you're ultimately the one in charge of what you want. He's more practical I feel, and I'm more aesthetic, and both of us opinionated on what we think is best. With his talent and knowledge of what he's doing, and what I like to think of as my good aesthetic eye, we together recently produced a bathroom I could live in! (IF it were larger! ) I'm not one to recommend anyone lightly. It's happened where a company does a good job for someone, then a less than stellar job for another person leaving the homeowner disappointed. I never want to be that person who steered someone wrong, even if it's out of my control and I was pleased with the work rendered at my place. With Ziggy, and after working with him on four different jobs, I can tell you without hesitation and with confidence, he will provide you with beautiful work, at a price that is usually more than competitive.

Fast forward to this year and one of the tubs developed a crack. Ziggi came out, replaced the tub and surrounding tiles and you can't tell that it was changed at all. He did a great job matching the existing tiles. Ziggi brings old world work skills at a reasonable price. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me at ray60174 at gmail.

Proceed carefully and document everything We engaged Xcēd…read moreDesign Build for a residential project, but the contract was ultimately canceled before construction began. We were unable to reconcile the deliverables we received with the portion of the design retainer that was kept. Based on our experience, we recommend approaching the process as a structured business relationship with clear documentation at every step. While early conversations were collaborative, relying on verbal discussions instead of written confirmation led to misalignment and, ultimately, disappointment. We expected Chelsey to lead the design based on early discussions, but the project was assigned to a different designer. Documenting decisions, preferences, and changes after each meeting would have helped ensure expectations were aligned. Recommendations for homeowners: *Request visibility into design hours, specify how you want those hours prioritized, and require notification at defined milestones *Confirm the specific deliverables for each design review *Confirm who the assigned designer will be and ask to see their portfolio *Require confirmation that proposed designs would reasonably pass permitting * Ask how dimensions, clearances, and usability are validated * Even if budget alignment is confirmed upfront, document it clearly in writing *Follow the contract closely and keep all decisions in writing A consistent, well-documented process from the beginning helps set clear expectations and accountability.
