I walked in for a dip manicure and pedicure. My first sign should have been that there were absolutely no customers in this shop. The nail tech (Tony?) started removing my prior dip polish. I thought he was drilling them a little too far, but wrote it off. As I was having the polish removed, I looked more closely at the state at the salon and noticed it was really dirty, especially the floor. The nail tech grabbed a cuticle scissors from another station, which did not seem sterilized prior to use, and I should've stopped it there. The final straw was that the tech did not wrap my nails - instead he used the cuticle scissors to BREAK AND PULL OFF MY POLISH. I let him do it for two nails, the second nail breaking as a result of this. I finally asked to stop the service, which is something I've never done in my life. It was a horrifying experience. Anna is amazing! She took her time doing my pedicure and my gel manicure came out excellent! She was patient and her work is impeccable! Helen is also great! The shop could use a good cleaning and dusting but the tools were fully sanitized. They line the pedicure bowl with liners, which is nice. read more

So,I have been coming here since I was 13! When I have an appointment I never have to wait and the service and attention to customers is impeccable. I always see Helen when I go. She is the best nail tech ever and the manager Kim is so sweet and friendly. The owner Sonny is great also and has quite the sense of humor. Helen does the best NAIL designs this side of the bridge. Go and see for yourself. I'm not sure why the others had negative experiences, but over 20 years of consistency is few among nail shops today. read more

This is a picture of my gel manicure. It was a few days before the fourth and I got out early from work so I thought I treat myself. It was a 30 minute wait which is expected because of the holiday. When I finally did get serviced the nail technician barely uttered two words to me. Needless to say the service wasn't that great and to top it all off it hasn't even been a week yet and my nails are starting to chip already. I asked her to make sure my nails on my toes were dry because I only got a classic pedicure. My big toe was smudged. I won't be coming back anytime soon. Not sure how they do acrylic nails but I wasn't too pleased with my nails. Only reason I'm giving two stars because they have an assortment of colors to choose from. read more

I stopped by this place because I used to come here often, and it reminded my why I stopped going. This place needs a serious makeover! I got a gel mani/ pedicure and paid $44. The pedicure tubs are very outdated, I felt uncomfortable getting a pedicure because of how the tub looked. The lady doing my pedicure cut a bit too deep on one of my toes and it's still sore 3 days later. The man doing my gel manicure cut my nails way shorter than I wanted. I got really attached with the length I had and I felt like I lost a piece of my soul. He tried to argue with me about something, but I just repeated what I had said earlier which was, "please just even them out" He also insisted on cutting my cuticles, even though my nail beds don't do well with that. He was pretty much cutting off chunks of skin- again, I repeated what I said in the beginning which was, "you don't need to cut my cuticles." I don't get it .... They also passed me around to three different people, something I don't like when getting my nails done. The color selection isn't that great either. I would only go here if you want to pay a little less, but I don't see myself ever going back .. read more

I came here for the first time today and wasn't very happy with the results. My boyfriend made the appointment for me as a treat. He's been before and had a good experience so I was looking forward to coming. I got a gel manicure and pedicure. The woman doing my nails was nice but wasn't really listening to what I was asking. I told her I wanted my nails short and she tried to convince me to keep them long. The shaping was pretty bad and I was trying to tell her to file some more and she just nodded her head and then proceeded not to. She did a good job on my heels and moisturizing my feet. The paint job is just terrible. I told her to clean it up and she said "no it's fine" as if she didn't want to fix it. I just left. read more

Awful, just awful. Went in for a mani and pedi. Someone was finishing up getting a pedicure, I was watching them when she was finished she didn't clean the tub, just wiped and rinsed, no disinfectant or anything. This is the worst nail place I've been to so far. I had an older Asian lady, who doesn't really speak English, do gel French tip. She put blobs of both clear gel and white tips on all my nails, and now all of my nails have grooves. The white tips are so thick - much thicker than my natural nail thickness! Also, she put the gel polish right over the trimmed cuticles - after a day or so, the edges crumbles out. Not pretty. I posted the photos of my nails. They charged me $30 for this crappy job. I been coming here for a few years and it's my favorite nail salon! Not only are the prices cheap but the service is great as well. I'm very picky when it comes to my nails and they always do a fantastic job. For only $25 you can get and mani and pedi! At other salons I been to $25 can't even get you a pedicure. Their polish selection is large with a variety of colors and brands, plus they always have the newest OPI collection. Needed a pedicure asap and decided to stop here. This visit wasn't my first, was here a few years ago. They have a good variety of colors to choose from mostly OPI and China Glaze. Even though they were people here before me, the wait wasn't too long. Don't know the name of the lady who did my pedicure but she did a good job, and was pleasant. I dont really write reviews but I saw there was 2 negative reviews about this place so I had to say something. First off I been going here for years and I personally never had a problem. My favorite lady to go to is Hellen, she is very gentle but efficient. The prices are very cheap, only $25 for a full set or a mani and pedi !!!!! I used to live in Malden but recently moved to Newton and I went to multiple salons and they couldn't even compare to Wonder Nails!! They have a wide selection of colors and high end brands polish, they also have a lot of shellac color! I just left there after waiting 20mins after booking an appt hours before coming in. No I'm sorry for the inconvenience, nothing said at all so I got up and left. I called after I left and ask "why book an appt for a certain time when you will still be sitting there waiting" The manager of the shop which is a high school student couldn't even answer my question and hung up the phone on me. Hello, I use to be a regular here [Helen] use to do my nails all the time [acrylics]. I started school and I could no longer have my nails longer than natural length. After not going to wonder nails for a while [about 5 months] I decided I wanted to feel a little more girly and went in for a full set. Helen who normally does my nails was busy so I got Sonny. He did a full set in less than 25 minutes and did a horrible job! He was clearly rushing, which there was no need to rush I was the only person in the salon at the time. My nails didn't look as bad as I soon would come to realize that were. [uneven length, horrible acrylic application, etc.] fast forward less than 2 weeks later, I can usually go 3 weeks before a fill, anyway less than 2 weeks later I have a good amount of regrowth and a ridiculous amount of lifting from not properly cleaning the cuticle area. I went in today, hoping to get Helen but she was on vacation so I was just going to wait and go with Sonny and let him know my concerns with his previous application and hope he would fix it this time. Instead I waited 20 minutes without anyone saying a word to me. So I went across the street to natural nails, same price but way better application. They fixed my nails, and told me that it looks like my nails have been on for a while and they were very uneven. Apparently at wonder nails you only get a good application if you're a regular. I recommend going to natural nails right across the street. They are very meticulous with their application and clearly take their job seriously and aren't just rushing through to make money. This place didn't meet my expectations at all. I felt rushed. The one guy that was working did my nails and he rushed my whole manicure. I got acrylic nails and a gel french manicure done which i didn't like from the moment he started it. I wanted the nails cut shorter (he wouldn't cut them more), I wanted thinner french tips (but he made them so thick), and worse of all my manicure didn't even last a week! They nail polish started chipping off 3 days after getting it done. Anywhere else I've gotten it done it'll last at least 2 weeks if not 3 before chipping. Worst experience at a nail salon to date. Although I got seated as soon as I came in I almost wished they were so busy that I would have been forced to leave and go somewhere else. I went in for a simple mani/pedi and was serviced by a rude older asian lad I fy with glasses (didn't catch her name). She was extremely rough when doing my pedicure and cut in me in multiple places which felt like my feet were literally on fire when she rinsed my feet with alcohol. I could barely keep still from the pain. When I noticed her about to apply more alcohol I quickly moved my foot and said no more due to the burning...this witch had the nerve to just laugh and not even apologize. Next she went to do my manicure and it was the sloppiest job ever as if she couldn't wait to be done with me. I asked if she was in a rush and she actually had the audacity to shush me loudly. I'm never going back there again and I warn anyone who decides to go there to just find someplace else or do everything you can to avoid that lady.If I could give less than one star rating I would. read more
