Many of the ready to eat offering s are prepared in the stores kitchen by authentic cooks representing the various regions. I am here an average of once a week to supplement any cooking we do at home with fresh made salads, such as their Korean Carrot salad, their seaweed salad, and especially the smoked turkey lunch meat, as I cannot find this type of smoked turkey in any local supermarket. My kids love their puff pastries stuffed with ground chicken or potatoes. These make for a great snack or quick breakfast before school. Out of all the same type stores in our region, and there are plenty of them, Holland tends to be the freshest, make the best food, and offer the highest quality best tasting prepared foods. They are not the cheapest but for me they offer the best value. At times some of the staff can be, let's say, less than pleasant (hence the star off), especially if you don't know what you want or they have a tough time communicating with non Russian speaking patrons. However, I would not be too intimidated to come here if you don't speak Russian. Most of the signs are in English and you can point to what you want and tell them how much (just like a deli in any supermarket). I know I do that at Asian markets where I don't speak the language. As for being too sensitive to some of their personality (again, not often, but I have experienced it too), try not to be too sensitive, you are here for the food, which is well worth it. At those times, just pretend you are in NYC. They have a nice bread section here. Many times the breads are still warm from baking- yum! Many breads get delivered from Brooklyn too, If the whole loaf of bread is not too warm, you can take it to the counter and they will gladly slice it for you. This store has extensive candy, desert, jarred and pickled veggies from around Eastern Europe as well as farmers cheeses and European juices. All in all, please don't be intimidated to come here. If you have a difficult time with the language, ask for one of the managers and have them assist you. You will not regret the quality of foods offered here and you will most likely!

My mom did not care for her corned beef sandwich and said the meat had a decent flavor, but was cut too thick. She also could not bite the bread's crust. Our latkes were tasty and you can't go wrong with Dr. Brown's cherry soda! Now, the disappointing part. I ordered take-out, one small chicken matzah ball soup and one potato knish. I ordered with the same woman who raved about their kinish and guess what, she forgot to include the kinish in my bag. She brought the take-out bag to our table and assured me everything was there. I asked if the kinish was there, to which she said, "yes, as is the soup". Drove home over 30 minutes and no kinish. When I called them, the woman who took my order and packed the bag said, "Oh". Yes, she credited my card, but still....I was so looking forward to that kinish. If you're used to NYC deli, this is not it, but it is decent.

Over by the bakery corner, they offer ready-to-make crepes too. The staff was friendly and kind. I even found some fellow shoppers in the store to be friendly too! Shelves were restocked well which is saying a lot during a PANDEMIC! Checkout was very easy and quick (although I may have just been there at an ideal time of day). Overall, I'd say this store is well managed. Props to the team for making that happen! Also, for those unsure of what to expect, I'll say the following. The space is about half fresh foods/produce/made-to-order and half grocery aisles with some necessities and some specialty items mixed in. Be sure to examine the entire fresh foods area well, because otherwise there's some options that are easy to miss. They truly make best use of the space in my opinion! I only have two negatives to share: 1) the smaller parking lot with not too many spots available, which still worked for my needs. 2) a little pricier than your average grocery store (for some specialty items) but then again, I'd compare this more to a gourmet store or farm to table place where you're getting better quality and paying for it accordingly. With that said, I feel the prices are justified. Just note you would likely spend less on some items at a ShopRite, but a lot that's available here you wouldn't see in your average grocery store. I believe the meal kits are prepared at a central location and delivered to the store. Food prep cooks assemble and heat up the meals at the local store, but are not making them from scratch. You can order online, through their app, or at the kiosk in the store. Delivery is free, or you can pick it up. Dine-in is available with limited seating. Our order consisted of meals from three different restaurants. It was ready in about 20 minutes. I paid online and picked up the sealed and clearly labeled bag with no interaction with the employees. They don't keep the pick-up items on a warmer, so time your arrival right to avoid cold food. The food quality was good and on par with the actual restaurants. The ability to order meals from multiple different restaurants on streamlined order was probably the best selling point. The prices seemed a bit high, but I easily found a "50% off first order" code online which made the final bill reasonable. I am not sure if I would get a big order here at normal prices. Overall, Wonder is a nice and convenient place perfect for a family or group of people who all want different things. Don't order without a coupon!

If anything, it was more impressive looking in person. The box is said to serve 3 but it could easily feed 5 if people eat regular portions. We weren't sure what the sauces would be like so I sprung for all of them. The tzatziki was our ultimate fave - putting a bit on the pita and then adding some of the chicken. The chicken and pork could have been a bit juicier, but adding the sauce and making a little pita sandwich helped. I would love to order again and try some of the menu items when I'm in town.
