I thought we would be in and out in 15 minutes. WRONG 2 hours. When I was at the 1 hour mark I went up to the receptionist, young black hair girl with glasses and make-up done very nicely, I informed her that we had been waiting a while and asked did we do something wrong? Why is it taking so long? My 89 year old mother had fasted. She first informed me to stay behind the spit shield, Plexiglas (I did have a mask on and I was 6 feet away on the tape that is marked in the reception area before she addressed my initial concern. I did move an inch over to be behind the spit-shield. She then picked up the phone called someone and then told me they are waiting on an order. When I go to my doctor and have an appointment for a blood draw the order is there instantly. I am in Kansas I realize ,not Indiana. I guess things are done by a gust of wind. I then contacted my step-sister and asked her to call Mom's Dr. My step-sister came to the office 45 minutes later talked to the young black haired girl with glasses and nice make-up. Young black hair girl with glasses and make-up done nicely was on the phone to a supervisor or so I was told by my step-sister. I wish name tags were given to the receptionist staff that way I could address this young lady by a name and not her description. About 15 minutes later Mom was called in. Blood drawn, and we were out of there. The young black hair girl with glasses and nice make-up was rude, indifferent and a sad excuse for a receptionist. This experience at Axtel Medical Clinic has made a decision for me. I DO NOT have confidence in the Clinic to treat everyone as people while employing receptionist like, young black hair girl with glasses and nice make-up. I wish I wasn't in Kansas anymore.

My review deal with the food in the café, not medical care…read more The food itself is sub quality. The temperature of the food is always off. Items that should be hot are just warm, and sometimes cold. They do not seem to use their steam tables to keep things warm. Then they over charge you. DO NOT buy from the salad bar. The charge you by the ounce and it is expensive. A typical salad you would pay $6 or $7 for elsewhere will cost over $10. The Café is a profit center for the hospital. Thus, their main concern is how much profit they get, not quality of their product.

My mother went there for care she is 72 on a fixed income meaning she only receives SS to live on…read moreand that's it no other income. And this place is sueing her. Like wtf. This is the worse hospital when it comes to managing payment accounts. This is a last resort place.
