I have been a patient of HMC for the last 4 years. In that time, my PA/NP provider who was…read moreexcellent has left, along with other providers, nurses and receptionists. As of 2025, I will never return to HMC and have established at a different clinic. I attribute the great fall of care and huge loss of employees to the new medical director there for the last 2.5 years. Administrators do not care about their employees leaving. Currently the only choice given to me as a provider was a new NP right out of school and lacking experience. They cannot replace the experienced providers I had for my health issues. A ONE star rating is the lowest I could give them.

I thought we would be in and out in 15 minutes. WRONG 2 hours. When I was at the 1 hour mark I went up to the receptionist, young black hair girl with glasses and make-up done very nicely, I informed her that we had been waiting a while and asked did we do something wrong? Why is it taking so long? My 89 year old mother had fasted. She first informed me to stay behind the spit shield, Plexiglas (I did have a mask on and I was 6 feet away on the tape that is marked in the reception area before she addressed my initial concern. I did move an inch over to be behind the spit-shield. She then picked up the phone called someone and then told me they are waiting on an order. When I go to my doctor and have an appointment for a blood draw the order is there instantly. I am in Kansas I realize ,not Indiana. I guess things are done by a gust of wind. I then contacted my step-sister and asked her to call Mom's Dr. My step-sister came to the office 45 minutes later talked to the young black haired girl with glasses and nice make-up. Young black hair girl with glasses and make-up done nicely was on the phone to a supervisor or so I was told by my step-sister. I wish name tags were given to the receptionist staff that way I could address this young lady by a name and not her description. About 15 minutes later Mom was called in. Blood drawn, and we were out of there. The young black hair girl with glasses and nice make-up was rude, indifferent and a sad excuse for a receptionist. This experience at Axtel Medical Clinic has made a decision for me. I DO NOT have confidence in the Clinic to treat everyone as people while employing receptionist like, young black hair girl with glasses and nice make-up. I wish I wasn't in Kansas anymore.
