Ann was my nurse for my first surgery and remembered me when I returned for my next surgery, taking the time to check on me and make sure I was comfortable even though I was not her responsibility. She is such a genuinely kind person. Dr. Chase is a brilliant man who still treats me like a human and has never spoke down to me in any way, the way I have felt with other doctors. He listened to my concerns and had an answer for everything. This was after staff decided to remove vital monitoring overnight on a patient who is known for being hypoxic and is not yet used to wearing oxygen at night. Therefore, oxygen came off with no warnings to staff that the patient's oxygen saturation became fatally low, leading them to become unresponsive, where they eventually would pass not many hours later. Do not take your loved one here unless you want them to leave in a body bag.

I actually heard that their CEO Isabel was tied to the company that managed the Hillsboro Hospital before they were placed into receivership for not paying their bills. She was the CEO of a Hospital in Fulton Missouri under the management company, and their principals were investigated for insurance fraud and severeal were indicted on federal charges. And there has been some questionable billing practices regarding Medicare and Medicaid at HMH. It seems to me as though it continues. I'd rather die than go back to that hell hole.

Low-level staff, from receptionists to nursing assistants, are dangerously incompetent: They've repeatedly screwed up administrative issues, scratched my cornea, and collapsed my veins due to not knowing how to perform basic surgical tasks, and then refused to fix their harmful failures. This is clearly a hospital whose owners are interested in nothing but maximizing their own profit. Unless you are on the brink of death, avoid Via Christi like the plague. Go to Topeka, Clay Center, KU Med . . . anywhere but this awful, harmful, irresponsible hospital that exists just shy of the legal definition of medical malpractice.

I'd never been to this hospital, and the first thing I noticed (coming from a bigger city) is just how small it is. I will say though, when you walk inside it's really warm and welcoming. It also feels well maintained, it's clean and comfortable in the waiting room, and the receptionists we found to all be helpful. It was easy to find my husband's grandmother's room, and he stayed and visited for some time. I can't speak to the care, but she seemed well taken care of and had no complaints.

But they can leave you sitting in the waiting area 5-10 min..evidently your time and schedule are of no concern to them..as far as care they assume they know whats best for you and if you choose a different path than they want you to go..you are not a priority. Instead of being co learners in this journey..their main objective is yet another pill.
