I asked why and she told me her providers are so booked in advance I should just try somewhere else and hung up. I'm sure the providers here are lovely but you seriously need a new receptionist. She's the first person people speak to so she's the face of your company and it's not a nice face.

After doing the additional steps for care - getting my mammogram as instructed on a Thursday - on Friday I could see that my results were fine. I was called on Monday to confirm that things looked good and I would be a candidate for treatment. No prescriptions sent in - even though I was told they would be. Of course, they miraculously have no documentation for that call. Now, apparently the doctor has changed their mind about my mammogram today - stating that there was evidence of a bilateral reduction which I DID report. Now they suddenly want additional procedures and more money for Menorah hospital I guess. This is ridiculous and the reason people don't seek medical care anymore. Are there any medical offices that aren't constantly trying to add additional unnecessary and very expensive tests that cost people money they don't have to fund their private hospitals? Well, apparently it won't be this place. Standard of care is only for people who have the additional money for thousands of extra dollars worth of tests. I don't even know if there are any practitioners anymore who aren't hospital test brokers. What a waste of time and enthusiasm for finally getting the care I need for perimenopause.

When I arrived for my appointment, I saw more than four staff members at the front desk, which made it even more confusing why none of my calls had been answered. I then waited 30 minutes past my appointment time before being seen. When Dr. Angell finally entered the room, I immediately felt minimized despite her bio stating that she aims to uplift women. She asked only two brief questions about my menstrual cycle before concluding that my hormones "must be normal." Throughout the appointment, she was condescending and dismissive. She shamed me for not being on birth control while being sexually active, even after I explained that I have tried three forms of birth control and had poor experiences with each. She made comments such as, "This isn't the person you want to be connected to for the rest of your life, right?" and, when discussing oral contraceptives, "You take five other medications, you must be capable of taking pills." She then told me she could not help me unless it involved birth control and told me I needed to see a psychiatrist. I paid $40 only to be told information that could have been communicated easily during a simple phone screen; something I repeatedly tried to obtain but could not because no one answered the phone. I wasted time, money, gas, and ultimately left feeling shamed at a facility supposedly dedicated to women's care. I am extremely disheartened by this experience. If I could give zero stars to help others avoid wasting their time and money, I would. Do better.

She is absolutely phenomenal... she always has time to talk, listens to all of my concerns (whether they are realistic or not), provides me with literature so I can make the best decisions for my personal health, and is just a genuinely warm and funny person. She is also one of the growing number of OBGYNs who will agree to the IUD for single women without children, which is awesome. If a little Emily P. ever comes into the world, Dr. Mercado would be my number one choice for an obstetrician. The facility is really nice, located inside the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Parking is always abundant in the lot outside, and I believe they have valet for expectant mothers. The support staff is wonderful as well.

She was - and continues to be - nothing short of amazing. Empathic, kind, clearly well-educated, with a courteous and committed staff - every appointment there is something I have great experiences with. In fact, after my first appointment with Dr. Wittek, I literally sat in the parking lot in my car and called 4 or 5 of my close girlfriends and told them they instantly needed to change OB/GYNs and go see Dr. Wittek. Every one of them did, and every one of them has had an experience similar to mine - they LOVE her. Dr. Wittek, like me, is a mom and has young children. She knows the challenges motherhood presents and understands well the concerns that all of us have. I have found her to be nothing short of magnificent and can't recommend her highly enough. She is an incredible physician, and a great caregiver, and a delightful person - in every sense.

They tell you on the phone when you schedule and also have you sign a legally binding contract to let you know they will nickel and dime you for every darn thing you unfortunately had scheduled for your nether-regions in the first place. But these people can call you 15 minutes before your appointment, you know, the one you're literally almost at, the one you found someone to watch your kids for to only have them call and say that the OB is tied up in a birth. I'm sorry, was the practice unaware an hour prior when I was sent check in paperwork, or how about 30 mins prior when the doctor was obviously still not there and ready!?! 15 friggen minutes. Be better if you expect your patients to do the same. My time is just as valuable as yours.
