I was so excited to find a direct care provider that didn't take insurance. From what I had heard…read moredirect care meant a bit more free thinking and open minded from the pressure of big pharmaceutical. Boy was I was wrong here!! Before being released from the hospital after my baby was born I had to have a follow up appointment with a pediatrician. My baby was less than a week old when we were seen here. The doctor did the assessment which went fine. However as soon as she was done she asked "does he have all his shots" I said no and the whole tone changed. She became incredibly irritated in tone even slamming her laptop closed when we tried to explain our stance. I actually started crying in the office and she said to me " are you going to tell me why you are really crying or will you just say it's after pregnancy emotions". My husband and I could not get out of this place fast enough. I was so traumatized by the treatment, and still think about it to this day and get sick to my stomach. I cried for days after and believe me have told whoever will listen! A friend ended up finding a pediatrician in Topeka who truly lives by what I expected from direct primary care. Who treats me with respect and never pressures my stance. So I cannot recommend enough, if you are an outside the box thinker DO NOT COME HERE!

Never before have I received the kind of attention and care that Dr. Neu provides. He asks questions and gets to know his patients better in order to provide better care. Nobody likes having to go to the doctor, but Dr. Neu makes it as quick, easy, and painless as possible. Lawrence is so lucky to have the whole NeuCare team in the area!

After waiting a significant time on hold when she answered she was immediately rude and condescending. I had questions about what type of appointment my needs would be and she scoffed at my lack of understanding. She then told me I would need to find my birth control records from over 10 years ago to even schedule an appointment. I asked why and she told me her providers are so booked in advance I should just try somewhere else and hung up. I'm sure the providers here are lovely but you seriously need a new receptionist. She's the first person people speak to so she's the face of your company and it's not a nice face.

With that being said, I called to schedule an appointment for her after being seen in the ER for a severe prolapsed uterus, and was told we can't schedule an appointment until the records are received and reviewed from the ER. Excuse me??? Then, the receptionist said it will likely still be February before she could be seen. No sense of urgency. No empathy. No let me take a message and have a nurse call you back to see if she needs to be seen/worked in.

Although KC Women's Clinic has its own separate review, I couldn't let this listing of Dr. Thomas…read moreon Yelp go without her own review. Kudos to Dr. Thomas! She is only GYN; she does not do OB. Although I can't say that I LOVE the reason I'm there, she makes the yearly exam the most comfortable it can be. She talks to you, reviews your history, and really LISTENS!! Throughout all parts of the exam, she is making you feel as comfortable as possible. She wants you to be healthy, but she is also realistic. Overweight? Need exercise or to quit eating junk food? She'll remind you nicely (because, really, you already know it) but won't lecture you about it. She also has given me a most excellent recommendation for a family/general physician! This is really 4.5 stars....Two visits ago, I was in and out of the place in around 30 minutes!! However, on a follow up visit (yes, I know you DON'T want details!!) I waited over 90 minutes, due to the fact that she was covering for her coworkers that were off. But as a whole, her visit portion is 5 stars...the waiting portion the 2nd time knocked 1/2 star off.
