I stepped out to call my insurance company, and after about five minutes decided to self pay so I could see the doctor to get checked out. As I walked up to the front desk, the receptionist told me that because it was getting late I would just have to reschedule and come back another day because the doctor was "almost done and ready to go home." It was 4:05 and they are supposedly open until 5:00. I was shocked at first and said that I was ready to just pay, and that I had been waiting for over an hour. I explained again that I was in a lot of pain and really needed to see the doctor because I was worried the IUD may have caused damage coming out of me. The only response I got was that unfortunately the doctor was done for the day, not taking any more patients, and I would have to reschedule. The staff had so many opportunities to tell me that they were having trouble with my insurance, which I was able to sort out after a few phone calls, but neglected to say anything until ten minutes before the doctor decides she was done seeing patients. I don't understand how a doctor who is supposed to help people can be so cold hearted that after waiting for over an hour, being seriously worried, in pain, and willing to pay, she would refuse to see me.
