Everything about my experience was top notch from the phone call making the appointment to the post appointment follow up. When I made my appointment, I was given detailed instructions about not only the appointment but also about where to park and how to get to the area where the test would be done. I was told to arrive around 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork so I did. It took me about 5 minutes to fill out the paperwork and they took me in almost exactly at my 9:30 appointment time. The staff was friendly and courteous. It was wonderful that the doctor explained every step of the test so I understood what was going on and what he was looking at. The nurse was equally as friendly and informative. Overall, the service was better then I expected and I will no longer be hesitant if/when I have to make a return appointment.

I asked a few friends and ended up here and am glad I did! So heading to your first appointment pregnant, and not just for a regular check-up is a different experience. There's actually probably about eight doctors that are a part of this practice. I rotated seeing all of them because any of the eight could be the doctor birthing my son. Of course with eight different people there's eight different personalities. Some I gravited to more than others. I really liked Dr. Udrea, Dr. Smith, Dr. Rowland, Dr. Hunkele and a newer doctor who her name escapes me, but she's younger. There's a few of the doctors that come off a little less friendly aka their bedside manner isn't the best with Dr. Dicenzo and Dr. Halfhill. They're fine, and Dr. DiCenzo actually birthed my second son and was fine... But she wasn't my first choice. The staff and nurses are all very nice and I mainly went to this West Penn location vs the other locations around the city. The nurses are actually very very nice just to spend a minute talking about them. They were always so sweet and it's weird after almost 10 months of going there monthly to not see them now! So if you're in the market for a new OBGYN, I would highly recommend this place.

My first appointment (early December) was cancelled with less than 24 hours notice due to the physician's schedule. I lost a day of PTO due to that, but rescheduled for later in the month. For that appointment, I sent my updated insurance information by email, as they requested. Despite having 3.5 weeks to confirm, they called me 45 minutes before closing the day before my rescheduled appointment of time to say that, not only were they not able to confirm my insurance, but that my insurer told them I did not have an active plan (I do). Because the clinic called me less than an hour before closing, I was unable to connect with my insurer by phone to get the clinic confirmation. I ended up cancelling my appointment due to frustration and lack of any options provided by the most clinic's administrators. They would not allow me to bring proof of coverage to my appointment, a typical practice for any other reputable physician's office.

Yes, I know, and that time is predictable and can be used to schedule properly; this isn't my first rodeo. My friends and family who live in the area refer to it to as the Toys "R" Us location, because this was indeed a Toys "R" Us years ago. You can get lab work here, you can even get minor outpatient surgeries done here. A friend of mine had early stage breast cancer and this was not only where she was diagnosed but where her surgery was done. As for me, I have had my annual mammograms, a number of ultrasounds and a breast biopsy here. This is a facility where whatever you are here for is likely to have you feeling nervous, and the staff recognizes that and is absolutely expert at putting you at ease. From when you call and schedule through the day of your procedure, I have always felt treated with care and empathy. I know these are characteristics you would be looking for in any medical professional, but these are some especially touchy subjects and somehow the staff members they have hired here are exactly the right people for the job. The facility is bright and clean, with staff on hand upfront to direct and/or register you. Lots of space to sit and be comfortable for yourself and any support persons you might bring along. I'm glad to have this facility close to me.

The reason why is because I LOVE my doctor, Rita Raymond! Us ladies all know how hard it is to find this kind of doctor. The question of do you feel comfortable with a male docter, does the woman doctor freak you out a bit? It's definitely a crap shoot. That's why recommendations for a doctor is SO important. It's really crucial to find the right one for you. I knew when she hugged me after every visit.
