This review is for the office and for Dr. Valentina P. Lozano, the new ophthalmologist who joined from Markman & Goldberg. I was previously a patient of Dr. Phan since 2010, and Dr. Lozano took over my care in February 2026. She's extremely thorough, especially with my high‑myopia‑related issues, and the visual field and scan process was smooth and well organized. For optometry and glasses prescriptions, I see Dr. Isabella Duong, who's excellent and very patient. I've also seen Dr. Olivia Wilde here in the past with good experiences. As a long‑time patient, I've always found the staff accommodating, though the office can be busy and phone pickup can be slow -- pretty typical for a large practice. Parking is decent; the Lomita Blvd side usually has more spaces. A few improvements I'd love to see: 1. Online payments. Mailing checks or writing credit card info on paper isn't ideal, especially given past issues with mail theft in the area. 2. More waiting room space. Since the merger, both the main waiting area and dilation area feel cramped. 3. Online scheduling and reminders. Other nearby offices already use digital forms and appointment systems, which would help avoid missed‑appointment fees. Overall, the doctors here are excellent, and modernizing a few systems would make the experience even better. read more

The front desk check-in staff's attitude was rude and condescending toward my father, who is not fluent in English. I did not catch her name, but our check-in was around 9:10 a.m. on 2/2/26. A routine checkup took around 1.5 hours! I advised my father to consider finding a more professional and efficient office going forward. I had cataracts in both eyes and was fortunate enough to be seen by Dr. Khoubian. Both surgeries went well and I am extremely happy I chose this office and Dr. Khoubian. I think it's important to add that I have had three surgeries on my right eye beginning at age 4. The sight in this eye has never been good, even with glasses and after having Lasik surgery. After Dr. Khoubian removed my cataract I was able to see out of my right eye better than ever. 20/25! This was not something I expected and I am extremely grateful! I had a very disappointing experience at Wolstan & Goldberg Eye Associates. The office felt chaotic, the front desk staff came across as rude, and I waited over an hour past my appointment time with no clear explanation or apology. That is very inconsiderate to patients, especially when people have schedules, work, and other obligations. During the various exams and dilation etc they said a Fundus photo was next and they took it. Before and after the exam staff had told me that my insurance covered everything but that was not true and I've been getting bills from them for another $75 or they will send it to a collection agency. February 26, 2026 was my first visit to Wolstan Eye Associates and my appointment was with Dr. Goldberg. I had waited about 10 weeks for this appointment. Upon arrival, I spent a few minutes filling out some paperwork and then two kind and professional staff members dilated my eyes, checked my retina, and gave me an eye exam. So far, so good. I was then taken into the dilation room where I ended up waiting for about 90 minutes to see Dr. Goldstone. When I finally was ushered into an exam room and met Dr. Goldstone, he was exceptionally brief, seeming busy and rushed. He and I talked for about 5 minutes about the condition of my eyes (this discussion being so rushed that I couldn't easily follow what he was saying), then he asked me if I had "seen the video." I had not, so he turned on a 5-minute commercial about the pros and cons of different kinds of lasik surgery while he left me to take care of other patients. About 20 minutes later he returned and we talked for a few minutes more about surgery options and I asked a couple of questions. He then walked me out and asked the front desk to give me some brochures about the surgery he was recommending (which they didn't do). Although the total time I spent in the exam room was about 30 minutes, my time with the doctor was less than 10 minutes. My impression? Wolstan Eye Associates is probably a very successful money-making practice. I would not trust them to do surgery on my eyes and I won't be returning. This review is for Dr. Khoubian, and his staff. I had cataract surgery on my left eye on 12/30/25, which was just a week ago. I was a little anxious but also excited and reassured by the professionalism of the office staff at the Doctors office. Dr. Khoubian himself was extremely professional and throughly explained what the process was and what I could expect. Ok, on to scheduling, Maddie, the office coordinator called and gave me my date and could not have been nicer! I'm going to skip to the actual surgery or this is going to be a novel. Here's the most important part! The day of surgery I was treated with care and total professionalism, from the staff at Torrance surgery Center to the anesthesiologist, to my doctor himself. I felt no pain, I was done in no time, had clear instructions on after care and the best part?? Within 12 hours I could not believe the improvement in my vision!!! I went the next morning to take off the patch and it honestly feels like they have taken a veil from my eyes, and I can see clearly for the first time in many years. My vision was so bad that I had stopped driving and it is now 20/25. Dr Khoubian, I am so grateful to you I can't even begin to express it. You have given me back something very precious; my sight. If you are hesitant about having this done I'm telling you to do it, we done need to lose our quality of life when Doctors like this exist. read more

Terrible experience. I came to this office because my endocrinologist referred me here and it was the only place with an earlier appointment compared to others. Unfortunately, I failed to check the reviews beforehand -- and now I see why they're rated 3.2/5. DO NOT COME TO THIS FACILITY. I had a 1:30 PM appointment and arrived at 1:20 PM as a new patient. I did not see the ophthalmologist until 4:00 PM. That's 2.5 hours of waiting with no updates or apologies when the doctor finally came in. This is absolutely unacceptable, unprofessional, and completely disrespectful to patients' time. When I finally saw Dr. Mai Phan, she practically implied I was lying about the symptoms I came in for -- as if she could somehow "see" or "feel" through people's eyes. The lack of consideration and dismissive attitude were shocking. The only positive: the staff (nurses/technicians) were very nice, checked me in, and completed all the imaging in a timely manner. Dr. Khoubian recently did cataract surgery on both my eyes. (April and June) I am so thrilled with the results! I'd been wearing glasses and contacts since i was a toddler, and now I am free of any kind of eye correction! I have better vision than I have ever had in my life! It's so exciting to be able to read the clock when I wake up in the middle of the night! (the little things, right?) I would highly recommend Dr. Khoubian! This is a busy office, run efficiently. I went with my mother- all the allied health and receptionists were courteous, but they do run at a brisk pace that can be tougher on some seniors. It's a bit of a conveyor belt factory in there. Dr Wolstan did a wonderful job explaining my mom's condition to her and why he was referring back to a specialist for medication review- the care is quality, but bedside manner can be impatient and abrupt. His assistants are well versed in making up for that no nonsense bedside mannner - I would return and recommend this doctor- except for those of you that want a chatty doctor that will take time with discharge instructions. read more

I tried to dispute two $50 charges for a no show appts that I wasn't aware off. I was told that last year, I scheduled both appts one week apart?! I never got a reminder and when I called to get an explanation, I was never given a reason why and that I have NO choice but to pay them. It's all about the money with these people, they don't care about their patients. I was told by their office administrator that she really didn't care if I ever go back to her office. I bought them, followed the instructions, but the infection did not improve. I then called three times and was assured that they would respond. They never called back. They are scam artists. I'm very disappointed with the service. I had a procedure and I asked if the insurance will cover they said yes it will cover, otherwise we wont proceed with the surgery, and they never mention the amount of the procedure. So I said yes and assumed it will cover . Five months later they send me the bill for almost the entire amount. My point is that before any procedure they should inform you the cost which they did not that is not professional and I felt I was mislead. This is related to my experience in November, though I wanted to take a few months to think about the proper wording for a large medical facility. I had not had an eye exam in 20+ years. I felt like I needed to move on from my cheap readers and ask some reasonable questions about my vision and its future. My first appointment was with a technician who sped me through the exam, and was very short and not communicative at all. When I jokingly commented about how fast it took her reply was that she had been doing this for years. When the doctor came in, she seemed completely disinterested in the exam, took the information from the technician and gave me a prescription for reading glasses. Hurried out the door, and I never was able to ask a question. She seem more interested about a new outfit that she just bought and was discussing with another employee. Two weeks later, when I received the glasses, the girl at the front desk was the best experience where she was at least kind and concern. I told her that the glasses felt strange, and my vision didn't feel right. she made an appointment for me to to get a follow up exam. Upon my second experience, I relayed my concerns with the second physician, who admitted that my prescription was incorrect, but she was very abrasive. When I tried to complain about the first physician she made me feel very uncomfortable and dumb to be asking questions. I left the facility frustrated with absolutely no information of comfort on the questions that I wanted to learn about my vision. The second prescription took over a month before I received the phone call. I'm so dissatisfied with the facility and the physicians that I'm going back to my Costco readers. They are lighter and doing the same job. not that they would've cared, but I am also a medical professional, and feel that educating a patient is important so that they feel informed and quite literally cared about. I made a complaint when I picked up the second pair, but it's never been followed up on. Again, a complet lack of concern for the patient and a waste of $300. It may be another 25 years before I go for my next exam. read more

This office does not run a fair practice. On a number of occasions I was sitting in the office and waiting for the doctor for 45-50 mins before I was looked at. They also charge "no show" fee, and do not call with reminder about your appointment. Watch out for this doctors office. For $20 no show they will proceed with the collection agency. I would not recommend this office. Over 90 days the fee becomes from $20 to $110. Watch out! read more

I was told my a family friend to come here for my eye problem that im having, decided to give this place a try and schedule an appointment just for them to delay me 2 months. They connected me to a appointment setter that never picks up the phone for an eye exam. I left a voicemail and got nothing in return ! I called and told the phone receptionist that I needed urgent response as this is an emergency and I cant wait 2 months ! So she kindly scheduled me for October 11 ! Cool ! I thought, weeks go by.... They text me, not call me. That I have to reschedule my appointment for October 11. I call, its the same receptionist and she connects me to the same useless eye appointment setter ! I call her back, she immediately talks over me and says she will connect me bc she is being a prick and rude. If you guys look at other reviews as well. You will notice that the phone receptionists is very rude and a coward ! She hides behind the phone acting a fool and Wolstan and Goldberg arent doing anything about there crappy receptionists and dont follow up when needed. I will never see doctor Goldberg again. I went to him twice as he was the only doctor available at the office where my insurance is accepted. Separate issues. Both times he was extremely (EXTREMELY!) brief with me. You know that feeling you have that you're inconveniencing your doctor? That's how I felt both times. The last time I went to see him was for a giant black speck and flashes in my eye. He dismissed it right away as a floater and migraine. I repeatedly said: I have never had a migraine and this is my first time experiencing this. I had a bad feeling. I' m previous patient of doctor Barry Wolstan. Dr. Wolstan performed cataract surgery and left me with a damaged left eye causing throbing pain for 6 months plus. The doctor made no attempt to help me with pain or counsed me to get my eye repaired. After 3 year of changining to varish medical insurance companys. I found Dr. Cheng Song working at Kaiser Peranenente and the doctor made a eye transplant to repair on my left eye. However,the eye couldn't be put back to 20/20 vision. In the beginning I was refered to Dr wolstan by Hubbar- Redondo Beach my-- (General Pactictioner Dr, Hubbar also refrere other patients to Dr Wolstan and in turn cause there eye damage. I had an eye appointment scheduled for 10/17/24 and I had waited for 2 months to get an appt. I received a text message on 9/26/24 telling me to please call their office to reschedule my eye appointment????? I was on vacation so when I got back on 10/2/24 I called them and asked them what was going on and they said they had to cancel my appointment because the doctor would not be in that day. So I asked what was the next available appointment and said 12/4/24. so I have to wait two more months to see the doctor because you canceled my appointment??? I was talking to a woman who seemed very immature had a big attitude problem. And she said well you waited a week to call us and I said well I've been on vacation and I just got back. I told her that she had a smart ass attitude and she said so do you. What?? Since when do I need to take crap from some uneducated person on the phone when they are at fault. You need to train your people better because some young people today have terrible attitudes and really don't belong in patient care. And by the way Doctor when you cancel a patient's appointment because you can't be there and that patient has already waited two months to get an appointment you need to fit them in whatever you have to do even if you have to stay a little late one day or come in a little early one day. I called the IPA TORRANCE Memorial and complained about this office and they're going to try and get me in sooner. Now I'm not so sure I wanna go here after reading some of the reviews. This office was... an experience. The front desk staff is not friendly at all, but I had no issues with the staff who did my dilation and initial exam before seeing the doctor - they were very friendly. Dr. Goldberg was very nice, but I only talked to him for about two minutes after waiting for what seemed like forever. He appeared to be in a rush, which I can imagine he was in because they treat their office like a DMV. There were SO many people there for an appointment, just sitting around waiting to see a doctor. My entire appointment ran almost two hours, most of it spent waiting around to be seen. They also had the audacity to ask me to come back to complete my field vision test, something that takes 5 minutes and usually gets done at the same appointment at my former doctor. I was not happy with my prior Ophthalmology practice and require twice-yearly visits. I was referred to this practice by my primary care physician and really didn't want to go through the process again, but knew that I had to. I saw Dr. Damian Goldberg and couldn't be happier. Dr. Goldberg was kind, knowledgeable, and patient and took the time to help me understand something that I never truly understood and now I do. But it wasn't just Dr. Goldberg - the office was amazing. Everyone I spoke to yesterday was kind and patient and given my propensity to be a chicken, I was immediately put at ease. Some follow-up is required, but I'm confident that I'm in great hands - the entire office was truly wonderful. read more

I had seen Dr Wolstan twice before and found him to be excellent (though always a very crowded waiting room and delays in seeing him 'as scheduled'). But my last visit told me this AIN'T the place for me anymore. First, it was about an HOUR LATE ... before I finally got in to see the doctor. (Maybe I shouldn't complain because another patient sitting next to me said that he was already waiting TWO HOURS past his scheduled appointment.) I had VERY SERIOUS concerns about Parkinson disease affecting my eyes. Dr Wolstan's exam was cursory and superficial. I presented Dr Wolstan with classic eye problems that often are related to Parkinson. And... just for clarity ... I printed out a medical research report to support my belief that my eye issues (1. 'sensation something was in my eyes' ... 2. both eyelids were tremoring at different times, different intensities. .... 3. I had presented with these conditions ... directly to Dr Wolstan ... over a year earlier.) He thought I had 'dry eyes' and cavalierly dismissed the research article and my complaints. First they lost my eyeglasses with new prescription to be changed to for over a week with the "factory" to whomever they are contracted with and then their Dr. Isabel Duong, contact lens girl, prescribes me some whacko prescription for contacts that literally gave me vertigo. Now charging me with $20 same day cancellation fee for a "follow up", totally unwarranted given this company's lack of performance. Dr Goldberg did my cataract surgery using laser at surgery center in Crenshaw. The first 2 days after surgery I could not see and I was worried, I went back to Dr Goldberg and he told me he needed to use higher energy with laser to remove my cataract since they were thick and as the result my eye had inflammation and he recommended salt drop. On the 3rh day I start seeing better and better and on 4th day I was much happier and I could read and write without any glasses. I am very happy today and I thank Dr Goldberg for his professional work, outstanding facility , friendly staff and best cataract surgery in SouthBay. I will go back to Dr Goldberg to remove the cataract from my other eye. Thank you Dr Goldberg . read more

Really disappointed. I searched google reviews and yelp review to finally choose an office to go to and thought this would be a great experience given the reviews. However, when I called to make an appt I gave them all the medications I was using only to show up and hear they had no record of this. Dr.goldburg was also 45 mins late to my appt which is fine he's busy but when I saw him he asked what was going on and midway throw my sentence interrupted me and quickly prescribed me 3 different things and didn't explain what each did. When he went to look at my eyes he was forceful in pushing my head into the machine, which felt like an invasion of space and not directing me where to go. My visit was a total of 5 mins long, after waiting 2 hours in total to see him. I head to my pharmacy the next day and they never sent over the prescription, which he told me to get later that day, so I call in and she says it needs to be made by a pharmacy in Montana and will be sent to me and not covered by insurance...why was none of this told to me prior? So I ask how to get it insurance covered and she said she can send them separately and it'll be covered by insurance...it felt like they were not willing to provide the insurance covered option as opposed to the more costly. This was the model experience of feeling brushed off and unheard by a healthcare provider. read more

The good: Amiable staff and doctors. Spacious waiting area with free coffee and water. Really interesting health facts and advice that show up on the TV. The not so good: Extremely long wait times. Doctors are very nice but also so busy that they need to finish talking to you just to get to their next appointment. They don't sell eyeglasses with blue light filtering here. read more
