We stayed on Upper Post lake and stopped in for a fish fry. We saw from past reviews that this place was small and to expect a wait. We had a party of 6 so we grabbed some Old Fashions and beers and waited about an hour. The bar was packed but the owner kept our drinks full. Once we were seated, we ordered some appetizers - fried green beans, cheese curds and onion rings. They came out within 5 minutes and we're very tasty. We all put our dinner orders in for the fish fry special which was 3 pieces of haddock, choice of potato, Cole slaw. The food came out within 10 minutes which was amazingly fast! The fish was nicely breaded and delicious! The 3 pieces were a huge portion! The service was outstanding and we were very pleased with our dinner and the wait was worth it. If you're ever out on Post Lake, be sure to stop in for an awesome dinner!

Whitefish, Shrimp, Perch and fantastic little potatoes with Cole slaw. All cooked to perfection!

Wolff's knows how to cook steak and burgers! Haven't ordered the fish because I just keep ordering a steak or a burge.

They initially turned us away…read morebut with further discussion and a few cocktails at the bar eventually made room to accommodate us. As with many cases this season they were very short staffed and trying to offer good service to those that had made reservations. Our server had several tables including one of 16 people. I can't believe how good the service ended up being with Karen our waitress. As a seasoned vet in this Industry she was on top of everything. Additionally the food was Breyer than I had hoped for. We all started with the salad bar which was clean and organized. They did end up running out of ranch dressing which was a disappointment but that was the only thing that fell short the entire evening. After the salads the four of us has the French onion soup which was better than most I've had. This was followed by our main course. Two of us has the 10 oz. Fillets, on had the 16oz ribeye and lastly one liver and onions. All the steaks were fabulous and the liver was also good from what I hear. There was no rushing, Karen our server timed out servings perfectly and the evening turned out spectacular. A big kudos to the Manager for getting us in. This will be a part of our rotation moving forward. Don't forget to make reservations!

First off, this was one of the best restaurants in Rhinelander back in the day. One of my mother's…read moreand my favorite years ago. I recently moved back to Rhinelander and had to check it out again. The place looks the same which I love. Our waitress was nice and attentive. We waited for over an hour for our food and there were only about 10 customers. I had the salmon with risotto. The end of it was fishy tasting and the risotto was mushy. The other two at my table ordered their alfredo. They liked theirs, but when I looked at it, I wouldn't have liked the spiral noodle they used. I felt they were overpriced too.

When my college buddy is in town for a visit we always like to hit up one of the local breweries…read more The Rhinelander Brewing Company is one that we hadn't yet been to, so the last time he was here we decided to give it a try. They offer everything one would expect from a small craft brewery, both in terms of style and pour sizes -- everything from tastes, to flights, to small seven ounce pours (shorties), to a full pint. I had shortie pours of their lager and IPA. The lager was light and refreshing but not thin and watery (think "lite beer"). The IPA was lightly hopped compared to many IPAs on the market these days -- which I thought was good -- one can taste and enjoy the hops without being overpowered by them. The taproom is located in a storefront on the downtown main street. The decor has an "up north vibe" but I wouldn't say it is attractive or coherent in style. There's a bunch of historical memorabilia on display hearkening back to the old days when every town had its own local brewery -- which in this town was (of course) The Rhinelander Brewery. The staff was friendly and could readily talk about their products. The Rhinelander Brewery is not that much different from hundreds of other small craft brew taprooms around the country, so I'll stick with three stars, which for me means average -- but totally acceptable -- in terms of everything one would expect from an establishment like this. Every town should have a place like this.

Feels more like a clothing store than a brewery taproom. The beers is average. Nothing was stood…read moreout to me. Nice history of the original Rhinelander brewery. One is like a small museum. It's right downtown. Street parking. Very small brewery.
