We got here early, like still brunch time, so we waited for the lunch hour and drank a few beers. October's for me & kolsch for my hubby, we cannot complain, beer is excellent. Tried a few others but I stuck with the October's. Young man tending bar super nice&attentive, even the local guy sitting at the bar bought me a beer, thanks Brian! Food...outstanding!! The fries are cooked so perfectly, you won't find an ounce of grease on them, crispy, delight. The godamn grilled cheese with onion jam...hold on to your seats people, f**king AMAZING! I couldn't get enough of it. Hubby got the garlic something wings, lol, and my friend a burger, & we definitely would come back here in a heartbeat. More people flocked in after noon, the place was clean, u can munch on peanuts & sit outside if you want. I loved it here

This is a unique spot with authentic vibes with a delicious variety of German and local beers in .5L and 1 liter (!) glassware. I had two German wheat beers and they were refreshing and tasty. The chicken tender teriyaki bites were hot and tasty as well. If you are a fan this is the place for you to enjoy a game and fans from all the teams.

This Wolff's location gets props for having its own parking. Going to Wolff's on your birthday is a right of passage for those in the Cap. Reg. - Especially if it is your 21st. $40 deposit for the glass boot, which you get back as long as you don't break it, and you get something like 2 liters of beer (their choice) for free! I have gotten the boot at least 4 times, usually at the Alb location, and the Biergarten is a great place to meet with friends. The Schenectady location is much like the others, I love the games, the open air patio, the peanuts! This is the type of place that gives you free peanuts and you can toss the shells anywhere. Peanut allergies beware! I'm not much a fan of the food, but I come for the Beer! Wolff's has changed over the years, they used to exclusively sell German beers. I even had my go to since I knew nothing about German beers, I found one I liked and always ordered that, The Franziskaner. Now, they serve local craft brews, popular IPA's, etc! Now that will bring in more people, and get them to hang out longer. So here's the deal: - Cash Only - Stay away if you have a peanut allergy! - Free parking - Eat elsewhere, Schenectady has a great food scene. - Birthday Boot - Drink BEER

Plenty of parking, good beer selection. They use picnic tables for tables. The food is OK. Nothing to write home about.

Great beer selection Lots of parking The food is good but nothing to write home about.

Decent beer selection. The vibe is ok. Food offerings are limited and forgettable. Overall it's just another bar. Outdoor seating is the highlight.

Running out of wings over an hour BEFORE the end of the event shows very poor planning. Not good.

What happened to this place? It used to be so friendly and nice…read more Four of us came at 5:45 but could not even place an order for quite some time. We were told to line up at the bar to order, but there was a long line. Then another person motioned to the opposite end of the bar but then he said he had no access to the ordering menu and could only get drinks. We tried to order online but the wait for that was 40 minutes. When we were finally able to order food, turned out the

They even serve drinks in plastic cups. The parking lot is very small. There is a beer garden in the back. When you walk in, there is no hostess and you have to figure it out on your own. Grab any table you want, make your way to the bar, try to get the bartender's attention, order your food and get one of the flashing disc pagers. When it buzzes, go to the pick-up window to get your food. I got what I thought was going to be fish sandwich, but was mistaken as I hadn't read the menu description carefully enough. It turned out to an entire fried fish. Who eats this much fried fish?! It was like the Cheesecake Factory version of fried fish. Furthermore, this thing was so overly fried, there was a very thick shell of fried 'something' surrounding the fish. Now, to be fair, once I chipped away the fried exterior, the fish was pretty good. The coleslaw was in a tiny cup, sad and drowning in mayo. Plan for the food to take 15 minutes to come out (and this was a not very crowded weekday night).

Just needs more sound maybe for the atmosphere and that would brighten up the mood. But great bartender and food.

First of all, it is necessary to make a distinction between Nico's Pizzeria and Nico's Rooftop…read moreTavern. They both share the same address and phone number, and possibly the same kitchen. But one is head and shoulders above the other... literally! And that would be the Tavern because it is on the floor above the Pizzeria, and of course, the Rooftop is still one more level up. If you're looking for pizza slices or maybe a pizza to-go, the pizzeria on the ground floor is your place. If you want a full bar, a menu including a variety of pub foods, table service, and maybe a DJ spinning sounds, head on up the narrow staircase to the 2nd floor. The open sky can be found above a dozen tables still one further level up on the roof of the building. Our party of five was happy to score one of those dozen tables on the roof. Not just because it was a beautiful warm evening, but because the music in the tavern below was so loud that we would not have been able to carry on a conversation. Our group was here to sample a planned menu that has carried us from tavern to tavern throughout the Capital Region for over two years - wings, mozzarella sticks with Melba sauce, pizza, and wash it all down with good beer. And that was where we met our first hurdle. Beer is not sold by the pitcher at Nico's. Our server asked if we were going have a bucket. Apparently, that was a special that evening. We inquired what was available on draft and as our server went through the underwhelming list of fifteen, we decided upon pints of Ithaca Flower Power IPA, primarily because it was the only craft beer on draft. Our first order of wings were ordered with a hot sauce and tasted very good. They were still hot when served, the chicken on the flats was juicy, but a bit dry on the drumsticks. The hot sauce was not too hot, the only significant problem was that two of the ten wings were missing. The mozzarella sticks were pretty basic. We've had both better and worse. The Melba sauce was decent, it had a nice flavor and a good viscosity. For our first pizza we got what we call our "Steve N." It is a New York style red sauce with mozzarella, ham, bacon, and jalapeños. It should be noted that their "small" 6 slice pizza is not that small if you are eating other things. The crust at the edge of the pizza is very thick. It has a good flavor and requires a fair amount of chewing. Overall, the toppings were adequate but did not extend more than halfway from the center of the pie toward the edges. It was otherwise an enjoyable pizza. While we were enjoying the "Steve N", we ordered another round of Flower Power, more wings with hot sauce and extra crispy, and one of their Sicilian Style pizzas. At this point we also informed our server that we had been shorted two wings in the first order. In order to maximize our opportunity to sample more pizza toppings, we asked that half the Sicilian have sausage, onions, and peppers, and the other half be their chicken parmigiana topping. It took quite a long time for this order to be received. Both the wings and the pizza must have sat for awhile before coming to our table because both were only warm. The Sicilian is a huge square pizza cut into 12 slices. The end crusts are even thicker than what we had on the New York style - especially the corner slices. I did not find the chicken parm to be very tasty. Too much cheese and not enough chicken. The mozzarella didn't taste like or have a consistency like I was expecting. It was almost creamy in texture. The sausage was nothing special, and the onions and peppers were likely added raw after the pizza was removed from the oven. Our server was pleasant and accommodating to our special requests. The unique draw of Nico's may be either the open sky rooftop dining, or the Mug Club that they describe on their web page. Some of the appetizer items are huge portions for a mere $6. Our group will continue onward.
