There was already a person in front of me, and both of us were waiting while two employees at the window were chatting with each other instead of attending to us. It's frustrating enough that these appointments rarely start on time despite the expectation for patients to be punctual, but having to wait even longer for staff to finish their conversation before we could check in was utterly ridiculous. They did not even bother to acknowledge us and say good morning, one minute, will be with you in a moment, nothing! On the other hand, Dr. Corey Mottesheard is amazing.

Great Doctors and Staff with Excellent Care…read more I've been a patient for 19 years from the time they were just a three Dr. practice. Level of Care has always been the best and it shows because of the satisfaction of the patients and the fact that they have been able to grow to multiple faciilities. My most recent visit was day before yesterday for lab work. My wife had called earlier in the week for an appointment for me but while there were none available, they were able to work me in as the last appointment day before yesterday. While most of my experience is with Dr. David Cook, on the occassions when he was not available and I had to see someone else, they were always excellent. They seem to have the ability to attract very competent and personable people. Dr. Cook no longer accepts new patients but from the above comments, you won't have any problems finding excellent care.

There…read moreare mostly 5-star reviews on Google and maybe the reviewer goes home immediately to write the review. However, the mostly 5-stars is a bit confusing to me. I would like to interview the previous reviewers on how they feel presently (since time has passed), since their root cause was more than likely not properly addressed. I debated for months if I wanted to write this review or not, but I feel it's time and needed. Just a little backstory on myself, I started having MAJOR stomach issues in 2020, I've been to a conventional doctor, internist, a gastroenterologist, and as a last resort to Charlotte Functional Medicine-Dr. Bartemus. I was very hopeful after my first, initial appointment with Dr. Bartemus, he ordered blood tests, a urine sample and a stool test. He addressed the issues that came back not optimal (high or low) with supplements and referred me to several specialists, since some things were out of his wheelhouse. However, it was only a three-month treatment plan of supplements. Fast forward to 3 months later and to my surprise, I emailed Dr. Bartemus when my 12-week final follow-up appointment was coming up, I noticed on the follow-up testing there was only blood work for a few tests and not a stool test (wouldn't someone want another stool test (especially if the major complaint was gut issues) completed at the end of treatment to see where things stand and to see if your treatment plan, that was provided to your patient, worked!?!). I explained to him I was still having stomach issues and I know I still was nowhere close to being better (in hindsight, 3 months is not long enough to properly heal the gut!!!). He then explained to me that I could order another stool test (since I was still having issues) even though he stated another stool test is not needed but if I wanted one that it would be an additional $511 on top of the $6,500 I have already paid him. At the 12-week appointment, he wanted me to reintroduce foods back into my diet, to see how I would react to them. But how could I have done that if my initial issues haven't been resolved yet?!? He then proceeded to tell me that the bloating (among other issues that persisted) I was still experiencing was chronic (Chronic??? I'm not ready to accept that, there's a root cause to bloating and can't and shouldn't be written off as "chronic") I know Dr. Bartemus values his YouTube page for all of his success stories and positive reviews on Google, and I imagine that's why he ghosted me after my last appointment with him in May, he really didn't want my review out there. I knew in my heart that was the last time I would ever hear from him again, even though he stated he would be following-up with me in a couple of weeks. I just wanted to come on here to write my honest review about my experience and maybe to help others trying to find answers to their problems in desperation, in my case desperate times caused for desperate measures. Please feel free to reply to my review below and I can provide you with my contact information to fully discuss my experience with Functional Medicine Charlotte.

Afterwards I scheduled to have a consultation with him. Going to his office, I was amazed at the atmosphere. I enjoyed meeting the office attendant and getting settled to speak with Dr. Akiba Green. One thing I admired is that he listens. He listened to me speak about all the aches, pains, and concerns that have built up. He addressed many options we can use with functional medicine to find out what has been throwing my body out of whack. We had two consultations until my fiancé and I decided to put working with him on hold due to major life events occurring for us (We are getting married this year) and my inability to afford it out of pocket without enduring major financial stress. I do think if you're truly willing to invest in your health and have the means to do so that you'll be impressed with the knowledge he was accumulated over the years.
