My entire family now uses Davidson Family Medicine. There is an ease of appointments due to the office hours. A willingness to refer to the appropriate specialist. A kindness and personal touch that is missed at many practices. (this was strongly demonstrated when my mother passed away. A phone call came the next day from my mother's primary to discuss what a lovely person she was and how she would be missed.) I have been a patient of this practice for 25 years. read more

Gave me the wrong address and did not pick up the phone when I called the office for help. They claimed the address is their mailing address but the email does not indicate that at all. The address is right in there with the confirmation info. Missed my appointment window and they did not try to accommodate at all. read more

This is a low key nice medical clinic whose best feature is its location in beautiful fun downtown Davidson. My doctor is very good and the support staff is nice and professional. The waiting room on the second floor is oddly configured and it's counter undermanned. It would be better to have everyone edit downstairs and then just call for a patient when they are ready. I always plan my visits so that I can enjoy lunch Main Street afterwards. read more

Sam Hughes is the best general practitioner I've ever met. He takes an entrepreneurial problem solving approach to medicine that I've never seen before, and, he quickly demonstrates that he is deeply interested in positive outcomes for his patients. He also ensures my time is not wasted, something I've never seen in medicine before. This is the kind of guy that should own a practice, he'd model success around his personal vision of care, because he really really gets it. Maybe one day.. read more

Dr. Kingsley is the best of the best. I'm very grateful to have found her and her team at Davidson Family Medicine. My family and I moved from Northern Virginia and replacing our previous practice was going to be hard shoes to fill. Dr. Kingsley is so thorough and patient. I never feel rushed and ALWAYS feel heard. I appreciate that she is also a mom and can relate. Thank you Dr. Kingsley! read more

IMPORTANT UPDATE: After my initial review (posted below), I received a certified letter in the mail from Davidson Family Medicine letting me know they are dropping me as a patient and I have 30 days to find a new doctor. There was no follow-up phone call from a doctor inquiring about the nature of my complaint or my health condition regarding possible exposure to Zika. I never got the chance to actually talk to a doctor. They decided to drop me as a patient based on the lack of service from their office manager. I have never been treated so poorly by a physician's office in my life. Beware of posting critical (but true) feedback about Davidson Family Medicine. They retaliate very quickly! --- I called the office to request a Zika blood test for my wife and I, since we'd recently spent 3 weeks in the Caribbean. The two office staff I spoke with were not helpful, so they passed me along to the office manager. The office manager proceeded to tell me that they did not do Zika testing even after I explained the new policies in Zika testing relayed to me from the state health department. The office manager refused to call the nurse at the state department even after I provided her with the nurses name and phone number. The conversation ended with her recommending that I find a different doctor's office. I am still in disbelief that medical professionals would be so dismissive when dealing with a serious virus. I hope this post reaches others who may have had similar experiences with Davidson Family Medical. read more

I absolutely love this office, especially Nicole Deschenes! They are extremely flexible, and very courteous and professional. I always walk out of there knowing I got the best care possible. I highly recommend this office. read more

I recently went to Davidson Family Medicine to schedule an appointment based upon a recommendation from friends. I am new to Davidson and appreciated my friend's insight and suggestions. The front desk person was very friendly and stated " we are always happy to welcome new patients to DFM". I made an appointment for a future routine check up. She then asked for my insurance card to enter me into the system. After giving it to her she looked confused and went somewhere in the back of the clinic returning a few minutes later. She told me that I could not be a patient there because I am on Medicare and asked that I find another doctor elsewhere. I should mention I have a very high end Medicare Advantage policy that pays well and covers a large number of health care services. I asked for an explanation and she said they would take all new patients except Medicare. They will even take new Medicaid patients. It is hard to understand why Davidson Family Medicine sees the need to discriminate against Davidson and area senior citizens who are on Medicare. It speaks volumes about their integrity and community commitment. At most there might be 10 - 15 new Medicare residents moving to Davidson in any year. That does not seem like a burden if even half of those new residents seek care at the clinic. read more

My wife and I have found our family Doctor food good as long as we have been living in the area! Everyone there is compassionate, caring, and empathetic. They work with you to find a solution and talk thru every scenario. My most recent experience with Debbie Whitkin, FNP has been amazing. I have had acid reflux/allergies issues for a long time, and all of the doctors I have been to in the past haven't found a solution for me she has taken the time to find the right combination of meds for me to treat my allergies/acid reflux. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

After moving from another state and trying to find a new doctor, I thought this was the place. The office staff and office manager are not compassionate and didn't even try to listen to my situation. I cannot attest to the doctors becuse I didn't even make it that far after 2 visits and 4 hours out of my life I will never get back. I will not be going there again. The personal service is just not there. read more

This was the most unprofessional medical practice I have ever dealt with. Absolutely no follow up and a blatant refusal to return repeated telephone calls even after explaining during the last three calls that I had experienced a worsening of symptoms. This was my first and last visit. Do yourself and your family a favor and find a different medical provider for you and your family. read more

Well-run and personable practice. All staff are efficient and courteous. I always feel cared for here and never rushed. Highly recommended.

My husband and I have been coming to Davidson Family Medicine for several years now, driving all the way up from Charlotte because of the great care we continue to receive. The front desk staff, lab staff, and medical staff are always very personable while still being professional. The doctors and PAs never rush you in and out, and are genuinely interested in keeping you healthy! read more

My experience with this practice is outstanding in every regard. We did have a problem at one time with some of the staff, however, Dr. White intervened immediately and appropriately and resolved the issue completely. My wife and I both see Dr. White and admire him. He is thorough, carefully describes treatment options that are available and fully explains what he is doing during the treatment. I completely trust his judgement. He has provided me several referrals for various medical issues and they are always excellent. We are very fortunate to have this practice in Davidson. read more

A caring practice! All places should be as good as Davidson Family Medicine.

The staff is very polite, but I am disappointed as a result of care. It is a problem to keep going in, running labs, and not sufficiently getting a result from it. There is no care if ultimately, its about running up the bills with tests, labs, and referring you to specialists. You mean to say they don't know your problem. They do! It is awful to drag you on, avoid treating the problem, and sending you around to specialists, for something that isn't the problem. This is tiring. After awhile, you move on, buy supplements online to help yourself. It is hurtful to go through this. I don't have a huge bank account to see all these specialists, for what one doctor can treat. What is the purpose of a family doctor, if they just run labs, and refer you. My life has to go on, and health care system isn't right. It's nonsense. To be perfectly frank, answer a question, address the problem, and move on. If you can't do that, I don't see value. read more

I'm very disappointed. I took by daughter to Davidson Family Medicine because of the excellent reviews. The receptionists, the doctor treating my daughter were very nice and seemed very caring as well. I took my daughter for a wellness visit and also wanted to ask for a vaccination plan for her as she is behind and I wanted to slowly vaccinate her. I was hoping that I will find a partner in the doctor and we can work out a plan that is suitable for us. The 1st visit she got her 1 shot and the dr told me ( I will not name her as the negative feedback is not reflecting her job, but it is reflecting the owner/manager) that they will email me a schedule which they recommend so that I can view it and we can work something out. About a week later, when nobody sent me an email, I inquired about it and a nurse called me, told me that they will not be able to email me a schedule and that the only way they can vaccinate her if she at a minimum will get 2 shots. I told her that I'm not ok with that at all since I do not know how will she react to the vaccines. Well she says that is what the "Dr Boss" says and if I change my mind I should call them. So "Dr Boss" is not willing to consider that I'm very concerned about vaccination and will not work out a plan with me...so I guess I will have to find another place who will work with me...It is probably not very cost efficient for them to give one vaccine at a time??? read more
