I had a very bad experience recently. They sent a text to my husband, who did not have an appointment, to update my son's and my records. I used my husbands phone to sign the HIPPA forms. Upon arrival the receptionist said that I had to put all of our personal information, insurance info and and medical information into their new portal since they had a new computer system and texted links to me to do it separately for myself and my son. I said that I wished that they would transfer the information from there old system and she said yes, me too. I told her when I was having trouble with the with the portal and she just looked at me. While I was sitting in the waiting room entering information I heard a hygienist come to look for us and the receptionist told her that we cannot go back until I finish entering the portal. While this was going on another patient came in with another person and was in the waiting room cursing including using the F word. Then the receptionist addressed him by his first name and told him he could go back, which led me to believe that she knew him. No, hey sorry about the language, etc. Not a good environment when you have a child/children with you. When we went back to the exam room the hygienist said that the dentist would exam my teeth before she cleaned them and he did; which doesn't seem like a thorough exam to me but it seemed that he was planning to leave for the evening. When the hygienist asked to re-schedule us, I told her that I didn't think that we'd be back. When she asked why, I said that I would include it in my survey response since they normally send a link after appointments. I did mention to bad environment in the waiting room for children and she responded that it wasn't an employee but a patient. I would be apologizing if it was one of my customers but I guess that the medical / dental industry handles things differently. Any-who, I guess they didn't want the feedback since for the first time I did not receive a text with a link to a survey. There has been a lot of turn-over with the hygienist and front office employees since Dr. Wolfe has retired and the service is not the same. read more

This place is genuinely a scam. Went there for the first time in July since I couldn't get in for a cleaning at my regular place. They told me I have over 12 cavities so I went back to my normal dentist to have him look, and he said there weren't even things to watch for. They were all so tiny that fillings are completely unnecessary and wouldn't get worse as long as I improved my dental care. Also, my hygienist at Wolfe Dental was sweet, however the doctor was not. She did not introduce herself to me and did not even tell me I had any cavities until I received my treatment plan and saw it myself. read more

Marilyn my Hygienist was awesome. Very knowledgeable and explained everything. Meredith as usual was her cheerful self. She always helps me and explains my bill and deals with my insurance company. I had a new Dentist as Dr Wolfe retired. I believe his name was Dr Gaita. Sorry if I'm spelling wrong. Does pain free exceptional work. He is very talented. read more

On November 23, 2023, I visited the Wolfe Dental Spa web page and entered into a "chat" session. The "chat" immediately asked for my name and phone number, which I provided. Then, I asked if Wolfe Dental accepted Medicare and part "C" coverage. "Chat" wanted to know what service I was interested in, I advised that I was inquiring about being a new patient, and wanted a routine dental cleaning, exam and x rays. "Chat" never answered my question about acceptance of my insurance, but did ask for my e-mail address, which I provided. "Chat" then advised that "someone" would be in contact with me, and also asked how I had heard of their practice. Well, today is November 29, 2023, and I have heard nothing from Wolfe Dental Spa. I can only presume that they do no accept my insurance. Wow, do you realize what percentage of the population are senior citizens? At least they could have had the common courtesy to contact me. Went here for an emergency wisdom teeth extraction. Was one of the worst experiences of my life! Please, please don't go here if you are scared or afraid of the dentist. They wouldn't offer me any pain relief or gas. They ripped my teeth out so badly I choked multiple times on my own freaken teeth! It hurts so bad and was traumatizing! Then after five teeth pulled would not offer ibuprofen or antibiotics or a lidocaine rinse just to numb the pain! Like this place is full of satomasicists . I thought it was normal to get antibiotic after a tooth pull? Nope. This place is called Wolfe for a reason. They are a McDonald's drive through of teeth. Dude wanted to just take all my teeth without even looking at them. He just wanted to get moola for implants. To top it all off they held my dental records hostage for over 15 days and would not give them to me. And he didn't get all of my wisdom tooth so it's sticking out of my gum! They then said we can get you different dentist. Like.. why? So I can get no pain relief and basically told it's not normal to get antibiotics and a script for better ibuprofen? This place is nuts! Stay far, far, far away. It's an upsell in and out dentist that is only there for profit. They don't care for patients. They just want the money read more

I'm in shock over the appointment I just had. The dentist (I think she was the dentist) didn't introduce herself at all...I sat down and explained my issue, and she listed all of the things I couldn't do. Then she didn't offer me any options that would work. She called one of the procedures "a lot of work" like it was a problem for her to do it. It was the weirdest appointment I have ever had. Update - I went somewhere else - and they fixed my tooth ON THE SPOT, using a filling to bind the tooth. It was painless, professional, and the COMPLETE AND TOTAL opposite of the appt in this review. Not happy with this dentist. My 3 year old crown ended up having decay under it and needed to be replaced. Insurance would not cover the replacement because it was less than 5 years old. :-( read more

I waited to write this review until I received my permanent crown today because I did not trust this practice to behave professionally if I was honest about my experience. At my first appointment with Dr. Wolfe I was told that I needed to have a crown replaced and several fillings done. I completed the fillings first and then scheduled the procedure for the crown replacement. During the initial conversations and appointments I let them know that I suffer from severe anxiety and have a prescription to address this which I take prior to any appointments that require numbing or drilling. I completed the fillings with little issue but when I returned for the crown appointment (the cost of which had been pre-authorized by my insurance) I had taken my anxiety medication, undergone the numbing procedure, and the dentist (not Dr Wolfe, but a woman who I had never met before that day or been told would be completing the procedure) had begun to remove the crown- the process was stopped and I was told that in fact my insurance would not cover the procedure and I would have to pay approximately $1100 more than what was agreed. After letting them know that I could not afford this and asking what my options were, I was told that there were no other options and I had to complete the procedure that day. I was then made to sign a loan application through Lending Club (which did impact my credit through the opening of a new account- though I was explicitly told it would not) and have the loan approved before they would continue the procedure which had already been started. I felt and feel that this entire situation was unfair and unethical. When I have relayed this experience to another dental professional, I was told that no part of this should ever have happened and I would have been better off getting out of the chair and seeking out another dentist even with the crown already impacted. I wish that I had. After this experience, one of the fillings that had been done by Dr. Wolfe cracked in half after 6 weeks. I was blamed for this saying that these fillings don't break under normal conditions- but they did. Today, I requested my record at the start of my appointment as I do not plan to return- because of this I was asked what had happened and Dr. Wolfe offered to honor the original stated cost of the crown. This indicates to me that this was possible all along but not offered. Additionally, Dr. Wolfe stated that he was not happy about making the offer but felt obligated. I stated that he was welcome to make that restitution if he felt that it was the right thing to do but that regardless I would not be returning as a patient. He did not follow through on this means of "making it right." I would not recommend this practice to anyone who values ethics, safety, or quality. read more

The staff is nice and the ladies perform detailed cleanings. Dr. Wolfe has put many crowns in for me and always takes his time to get it done right. One time he wasn't satisfied with the crown that came in from the lab, so he called them to talk about it and sent it back for another completed to his high standards. Best Dentist i have ever been to. the front desk ladies were so kind and welcoming. Dr. Wolfe was super professional and kind. In the past i've been to many dentists they tried to sell you things up charge you and didn't really care about your over all well being. This office is really something different, during my whole cleaning they made sure i was super comfortable, talked to me through the whole thing and just made me feel super comfortable. Dr Wolfe - Extremely disappointing. I was a patient for many years, however when I needed an appointment for pain in the tooth, VERY unaccommodating, inflexible. Hours of operation are minimal. I have been going here for years back to when it was still Dr. Williams. I find the staff friendly and the dental hygienists to be efficient and competent. Dr. Wolfe has always provided good service and has never steered me wrong. I have received fillings and crowns, and had many checkups and cleanings where no additional work was needed. I would highly recommend, in fact, I have referred family members to Dr. Wolfe. If you are looking for thorough dental care and a good experience, give them a try. Very disappointed. My daughters a d switched to this dentist and were have been more and more disappointed. My first call call seemed great, the girl was helpful and friendly. When we showed up for our appointments I stood at the desk to check in and the girl behind the desk ignored me for a time then looked up at me and said "do you need something" OMG I was shocked. So they brought my first daughter back who has never had X-rays, she's 8 and has never had need for them. The hygentist was pretty much jamming the film down her throat. My daughter started gagging and the lady kept ramming the thing in her mouth. Low and behold she puked all over her shirt. I kick myself for not taking the thing from the hygienist and putting it gently in my daughters mouth myself. Now everytime we talk about going to the dentist she says "I'm never getting X-rays again", that's just great... Things went fine with my other daughter (surprisingly) During my cleaning they found a broken filling and made an appointment to have it repaired, they quoted $45 unless it needed a crown which I understood they didn't know how broken the tooth was. I came for the appointment and was not overly impressed. The dentist "helper" was busily moving around the room never took a minute to stop, the dr came in went over the procedure, opened the tooth, gave the good news it could be filled then disappeared. The busy helper lady filled the tooth then I was done. I continued to have pain in the area and came back for another appointment and they found the next tooth was cracked, like really cracked in a bunch of areas. Seemed kind of odd they did not notice considering they had done X-rays and worked on the tooth next to it. I asked the dentist to look at the other teeth to see if there are any other cracked teeth, he half heartedly did so. So I get the recommended crown, paid my $245 and went on my Merry way. The funny thing is when he said it needed the crown I kind of jokingly said "as long as I leave by 3 to pick up my kids" and his response was "it's 1:00 now if I worked that slow I'd tell you to go back to your old dentist" ... guess what time I left, 2:50!!!! While at the office I mentioned that I clench my teeth my medical insurance will pay for mouth guard but not one person in the office could help me get the needed code to get it covered. The advise from the busy dentist helper lady was to SLEEP WITH A POPSICLE STICK BETWEEN MY TEETH. OMG.. And when the dentist quoted me the $590 for the mouth guard he made some cocky comment about "not knowing what's in my purse" or something cocky like that, it seemed really rude made me think he thought I was broke or something. That's the dumbest thing I ever heard. After getting the permanent crown I noticed I still could not chew on the tooth and food was getting crammed around the crown and in the gum. I went back for ANOTHER appointment . The busy lady rammed some dental floss around the crown and the very inflamed gums, yikes that sucked. The dentist strolls in and says "oh food is getting stuck in there you have to keep the food out of there cause your gums are inflamed and you could get an infection" then he turned to walk away.... WTF I KNOW FOOD IS GETTING CAUGHT IN THERE THATS WHY I AM HERE!!!! So I asked him to make it so that food does not get stuck in there, OMG by this point I'm ready to freak out but what am I going to do.... Ugh so he came back in looked at the crown and commented that the curvature of the crown is not good THEN here is the best part instead of offering to get me a better fitting crown he said he'd replace the filling on the tooth in front of the crown AT NO CHARGE TO ME (like he's doing me a favor) and he'd build up filling to be closer to the filling. OMG now I have 3 teeth messed up, still pain in gums and CANT chew on the tooth with the crown. There is an issue with getting my initial filling paid and office girl said they could send letter from doctor and X-Ray showing the broken filling and decay. She offered that over a month ago so I called to see if it worked and she told me she had not done that. WTH. Then she said she could talk to the girl who handles the insurance, WTH WHY am I talking to her about this if she's not even the person who does that job. She offered to get the person on the phone and left me on hold for 7 minutes. OMG it just keeps getting more and more messed up. Needless to say my daughters and I will no longer be going to this office and are very sorry we ever stepped foot in the office. read more
