OMG! This place saved me today. Shout out to Jared!!…read more I had just started my first leg of a solo two day trip from Oregon to San Diego. I need to also mention that I have never done a road trip before. I was only a couple hours into my drive when I got a "low engine coolant" warning from my car. Panic stricken, I pulled over and managed to find that this place was close. Jared let me know that they could rearrange their schedule and check my coolant levels quickly. Fortunately, they found no leaks and only needed to top off my coolant. I was there a total of two hours. Excellent service! While I waited some exceptional things I want to point out about this place besides the service and friendly staff. The place is very clean. From the front desk, coffee station, and waiting room to the bathroom. Very clean. In the restroom, there was a lovely small basket that contained various travel size items from combs to pads and tampons. If you were traveling, they were free to take. I helped myself to an Emery board. In the waiting room, they had an area with books that were free to take if you so wished too. This place is a gem and I feel it is very community oriented. If I ever have a problem in this area again, I know exactly where I'm bringing my car.

So on a whim, besides my local Mercedes dealer, I also checked pricing at Mercedes of Medford. Even with 800 miles of diesel fuel to get there and back, I literally saved well over a thousand dollars by having this major service step done in Oregon while visiting my family. (And no sales tax on the tires and all the parts I replaced!) As a retired industrial service business owner I was quite pleased with my telephone and subsequent in-person interaction with both Service Adviser Dan and Parts Desk Agent Brandon. They were able to accomodate my requests regarding the scheduling of my visit so that all parts required were in stock the morning of my arrival and the extensive service work was accomplished in one day. I would also like to acknowledge the efforts of Service Technician Justin and the time he spent with me providing recommendations and suggestions for the longevity of my Sprinter. (This was also my first exposure to the text and video summary of an initial service evaluation. It was very impressive.) At the end of the day I wanted to acknowledge the efforts of the above mentioned staff to Hugo, the Service Manager. Near 6pm in the evening, I found him sweeping out the service bay. Great management never shies away from doing the most mundane work if everyone else is busy and that's what needs to be done. That's leading by example. I can see why my experience with the Mercedes of Medford Service Department was so outstanding!

Terrible communication. Slow responses. No update on status of vehicle sale. The lack of support…read moresale started in September 2025 and is still continuing as the New Year 2026 rolls in. After loan approval, it took 14 days to schedule the notary public signing. Several days for them to receive back the paperwork. Then another 14 days to schedule delivery of the vehicle. Another 7-8 days for it to arrive. Once arrived a third party company that holds the title for the finance company, sent a message saying they would take care of getting the vehicle registered. I was not informed by the dealership of this process. I called the licensing company to ask a question on the same day that they reached out. Their representative did not reply for another three weeks. On November 3rd the Oregon temporary tags expired, so I was able to get a 30 day moving permit from the Nevada DMV. That temp permit expired on December 3rd. Then after submitting the requested documents, they submitted my document packet to the Nevada DMV. It has taken another 8 weeks for the DMV to issue registration and license plates on December 30, 2025. But the third party company had the registration package sent to the dealership in Oregon "at the request of the dealership". So as of today the vehicle still does not have license plates. In the mean time the vehicle was issued a citation of $75 for not having up to date registration. Because the vehicle is title under my company name, I had to get commercial insurance before applying for registration, which costs more than $400 per month. So the vehicle has been sitting idle in front of my house for the last two months, while I'm out of $800 in insurance costs, and two monthly loan payments amounting to nearly $2k. I bought the cargo van to use for last mile delivery in Las Vegas metro, but in order to register with services like Amazon Flex, or rent it out on Turo Adventures it needs to be legally registered. At each step in the process I had to continuously prod the dealership sales person for updates. Many times the call had to be elevated to management. Most replies the sales contact would just pass it on to another name within Medford Mercedes. He would not spend an ounce of energy trying to reply the proper information, but would defer the question to someone else. Each time he deferred, it would take 24-48 hours for a response. One of many examples was when after taking possession of the vehicle there is supposed to be a release of the MBUX software from the previous owner to allow the current owner to connect my phone app that controls and communicates with the vehicle's infotainment system. I had to go to the Mercedes manufacturer's contact and the dealership management to get it connected. Both parties pointed to the sales contact, in which he had no idea how to get it connected and once again referred the question to another person within the Medford MB dealership. The latest incident in which the licensing company had the plates sent to the dealership rather than the current owner, I reached out to the same sales rep, and he immediately would not answer the question, but referred it to someone else, in which I will not hear from until at least next Monday, January 5, 2025. I can not recommend doing business with this dealership. They either just don't care, or there not getting paid enough to motivate them to communicate with their customers.

I've been taking both my cars to Ken Scales for the past 12 years, but since Ken retired and his…read moreson Jeff stepped back from the business things have gone downhill, which is usually what happens when there's no owner presence on-site. When I took my Subaru in for an oil change, the tech didn't tighten the oil cap which popped off and blew oil all over my engine. Then, two weeks ago my Corvette wouldn't start, made a loud noise when I pushed the start button. AAA was not able to start it. Had to call a flat bed. Ken Scales did nothing for 2 days. On the third day they called and said the battery was dead. I told them I suspected something else was wrong because a dead battery makes no sound at all when you push the start button. I asked them to check everything having to do with starting the car that might have caused that noise. When they called to say they replaced the battery, I asked if they found what was causing the noise when pushing the start button. They said it was just a dead battery that's all, couldn't find anything else. This week, I drove the Corvette to Brookings, turned the engine off, but when I tried to start it again it made the same noise as before the new battery was installed. Worse yet, AAA said there were no AAA approved automotive service places within 30 miles, and they will only tow for 3 miles. I was terrified - 2 1/2 hours from home and no way to get there. After hitting the gas pedal a couple of times, I managed to get the car started, decided to try to make it home to Jacksonville. Took the car to Bob Thomas Automotive (BBB approved). They took the car right in, called me to say they hadn't found the problem yet, but assured me they would keep looking. Next morning their best technician called to say it took him 2 1/2 hours, but he finally found the problem. The grey wire to the fuel pump was loose. I will NEVER take my cars to Ken Scales again.

It is truly unfortunate that after 3 cars, and 19 years of great service while Star was under…read moreprevious ownership I am now writing this 1 Star review. I had triple A tow my car to Star on 10/27/25. I gave them a call in advance and let them know I would be sending it there and stated what had happened. For full context, I was exiting the free way in central point there was a small box in the middle of the road and I had not choice but to slow down and go over it. My car being an Alfa Romeo Giulia sits low and something was pulled out of the bottom of my car and it immediately lost all power steering. I was able to pull to the side at the very end of the ramp. No body damage at all, car was still drivable but no power steering. The tow truck drivers were able to drive it into the flatbed themselves. Zach from Star automotive s initial quote 10/27/25 totaled $10,054.53. See pic and note Quote 1. (This quote will dramatically change once insurance adjuster is involved) 4 quotes later, 2 subcontracted dealerships, a broken fuel module that made my car completely underivable, and no answers from Zach or Austin about what happened. The insurance claims adjuster, the service manager in Portland and the technicians all agree in writing that my car was not drivable when it was brought in and that someone clearly damaged the fuel module brought the car in with zero fuel, and then tried to cover it up ...the technician stated "it was hanging off when I saw it". Zach blamed this entire incident on a recall. Once again in writing the alfa Romeo dealership states this was not possible. I did not accuse Zach or Star right away when I was presented with all the evidence and facts...I called Zach and sent him the email from the service manager who he spoke with and checked my car in with. I simply wanted an answer, and a solution to this issue. It's Friday 4:47pm 2/27/26 my car is 246 miles away one way. The additional cost is $1113.31. I just wanted my car back. When I went down to Star after my phone call with Zach to simply discuss this in person...they said Paul is on vacation and that there was nothing they could do for me. I said I wanted to believe Zach wouldn't take advantage of me knowing how hard things were already finically ....Austin and Zach made many excuses that were not only unreasonable and impractical explanations for this incident but Austin then proceeded to yell at me and threatened to call the police on me. To the owner Paul...I know you are not aware of any of this, and from one business owner to another I am truly sorry this is what your employees are doing behind your back representing your business. I could have chosen a statefarm preferred shop, but due to my past experiences with Star, Dave specifically when he was there I chose your shop. Paul please contact me regarding this matter. I do have more documents and a video of my encounter with Zach and Austin this evening if you'd like to see to give you a full perspective. I will not upload all the documents, videos I have at the moment I will leave a thorough review in full after this claim has been closed out. I look forward to our conversation Paul and I have high hopes that you will make this disappointing situation right. Thank you Hi Paul I appreciate your quick response even with you being out of town. My car is ready to be picked up in Portland and both the shop and insurance claims department need to be notified as to what the plan is. I can not wait until March 20th. The car has been gone since October and I have to have this closed out and picked up no later than Tuesday 3/3/26. I can email you all documents, videos, emails and correspondence I have from the shop. I'm sure Zach has Alfas phone number as well. Just ask for Katherine she is the Service manager. Again, appreciate your fast response and attention to this situation.
