The plus side: The office is very friendly especially the woman at the front desk. They had a great selection of frames including Coach, Versace, Calvin Klein, Ed Hardy and a few other designers. Prices were a lot better than your Lens Crafters or Pearle Vision stores. My appointment was at 3 and they took me at 3:02 so there wasn't a huge wait. Dr. Conrod was extremely personable and polite and explained my many options for eye care. The negative: The tech or whomever that I first saw was really rude and possessed the listening skills of a toddler. If I have to explain to you multiple times in a five minute conversation that I mainly wear glasses and rarely wear contacts and I want to wear contacts daily and use my glasses as a back up, you really are not listening to me at all. It's frustrating to be a new patient with a new provider and have the staff treat you like you're stupid and you wouldn't possibly understand your own eye care or eye health. In a similar vein, the woman at the front desk gave me the fifth degree over my insurance plan, corrected what I said and then ended up being wrong. However she, unlike the tech or whatever, apologized and corrected her mistake. Honestly? LISTEN TO YOUR PATIENTS! If it wasn't for the doctor himself, I would have gone elsewhere. I'm hoping that when I go back to for my contact lens follow up, I have a better experience.

The day I go on vacation was the day I was supposed to pick up my monthly Percocet but my flight left earlier than the pharmacy was open so I tried to get Turok to send me my meds to where I was going. I had multiple problems getting that done so I came home in alot of pain and extreme stiffness. His office then sent a much smaller dose and smaller quantity of my medication and I kept asking why and all I got was Dr Turok leaving nasty messages. Then I receive a letter that starting Jan 1st 2023, his office was no longer prescribing opiods and left me with NOTHING to hold me over AND still no reason why he, for the 1st time ever reduced my meds without reason! I now find out he lied to me, that letter was a complete lie and he has been prescribing opiods without interruption! STILL NO EXPLANATION and now he has blackballed me as no other pain mgt doctor will give me what I need, give me any opiods at all and some won't even see me!!! I not only have advanced DISH but now need a 4 level fusion in my neck, have Shmorl nodes eating away my lumbar spine and this POS doctor could care less! On top of that, he talked me into getting Testosterone implanted in me last year without any care that my BP spiked so high that I almost stroked out and refused to take any responsibility. Moreover, I found out after the fact that when I thought I was getting epidurals for my neck and back, they were either trigger point injections or nerve blocks. As others have pointed out, Turok is nice when you're giving him the high priced injections and other treatments that he can make the most money but if you mainly need pain meds to function and you cause any issue on getting your meds, he'll shut you down and lie his ass off! First I had been off my meds for 6 months because I had no health insurance. Then I got health insurance and went to have my teeth cleaned, because I was off the meds and my immune system is compromised the dentist just wanted her to sign a piece of paper stating it was ok to clean my teeth because they didn't want to scrape plaque off my teeth and put bacteria into my blood stream making me sick. She refused to sign it and I had to cancel 5 appointments. Then back in December I have her look at an infected cyst I had on my back she said just leave it alone. Instead of swabbing it like I asked she let it go, knowing my history of having MRSA. So since December the sores on my back have been spreading and she tried to tell me it was acne. She also prescribed medication that made me double over in pain and worsen the problems I was complaining about to begin with. Then I go for my hearing test because I needed new hearing aids. She won't write the referral saying she doesn't do that find a Primary Care provider. All my HIV providers have always been my Primary Care because they don't want me going to someone who doesn't know enough about HIV and the meds and frankly neither do I. So she refused to sign the referral and sat on it for two weeks and never called me to tell me she won't do it. So I fired the witch! DO NOT GO TO this clinic over by MediQuick unless you want to get lousy treatment for yourself!

My one issue it's with their office staff - I find them to be very abrasive at times. Their billing/office manager could use some customer service training as well.

The doctor came in at 3:45. She was patient, kind, and thorough. I was contacted less than a week later with the results of labwork and info on how to schedule a follow up. I was very pleased with every aspect of the practice.
